Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women kept their strong performance going in the WPL 2026 with a 61-run victory over Gujarat Giants Women in Match 12 at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Gujarat won the toss and decided to bowl first but RCB made the most of the conditions as they scored 178/6 in 20 overs.

Gautami Naik was the mainstay of RCB’s innings, scoring a well-paced 73 off 55 balls, which included seven fours and a six. After early wickets, she steadied the innings along with captain Smriti Mandhana and later received good support from Richa Ghosh. Useful runs at the end from Radha Yadav and Shreyanka Patil helped RCB reach an above-par score.

In reply, Gujarat Giants Women struggled right from the start and slipped to 34/4 inside the powerplay. Sayali Satghare and Nadine de Klerk bowled tight spells to keep the pressure on Gujarat. Captain Ashleigh Gardner tried to fight back with a 54-run knock, but lacked support as Gujarat finished on 117/8. Gautami Naik was named Player of the Match for her match-winning knock as RCB stayed unbeaten. With this win, RCBW becomes the first team to qualify for WPL 2026 playoffs.

Gujarat Giants Women will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women in Match 12 of the Women’s Premier League 2026 on Monday, January 19, at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara. As the tournament progresses, both teams will want to earn important points.

Gujarat Giants Women have also improved in WPL 2026. They are currently third in the standings with two wins from four matches. As the league stage nears its conclusion, GGW will want to take advantage of this chance and boost their position with a significant win against the top team.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women have performed exceptionally well this season. With Smriti Mandhana leading the charge, RCBW have won all four matches and are already sitting pretty at the top of the table. A win in this match will almost confirm a playoff spot for them.

GGW vs RCBW: Weather & Pitch Report

The weather in Vadodara is predicted to be clear and sunny on the day of the match. The maximum temperatures will be about 28° C and minimum close to 15° C, respectively. There is no chance of rains, so an entire match is anticipated. There will be a gentle breeze of 9 km per hour.

The pitch at the BCA Stadium has usually favored teams that are chasing in past WPL matches. The surface remains good throughout the game, which makes batting easier in both innings. Fast bowlers might get some assistance, especially since dew could make it hard for spinners to grip the ball. Overall, a balanced contest between bat and ball is expected.

Gujarat Giants Women take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women in the 9th match of the Women's Premier League 2026 on Friday, 16 January, at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. This will be one of the last games at the venue, and hence, both teams want to finish the Navi Mumbai leg on a high.

Gujarat Giants Women have enjoyed a strong run in WPL 2026, which is a big improvement compared to their earlier seasons. They started the tournament with two straight wins before going down narrowly to Mumbai Indians Women. As this is their last match in Navi Mumbai, the Giants will aim to return to winning ways.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women have also impressed so far with back-to-back victories. After beating the defending champions in the first game, RCBW followed this up with a convincing victory against UP Warriorz. Under the leadership of Smriti Mandhana, they will be confident that they can extend their winning streak to three matches.

GGW vs RCBW: Weather & Pitch Report

The weather in Navi Mumbai is expected to remain clear but humid. As same like an afternoon match, conditions will be warm, with the temperature likely to be around 31°C. There is no rain forecast, so full match play is expected.

The pitch at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy has been good for batting this season. Short boundaries and a fast outfield have helped batters score freely. Dew later in the game can make chasing easier, and fans can expect another high-scoring contest with batters on top.

GG vs RCB Match Preview

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women will face Gujarat Giants at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara to kick off the 2025 Women's Premier League season. Last year, both teams had a 1-1 head-to-head record. After being beaten by RCB in Bengaluru, the Giants responded in Delhi with a 199-run total, which they successfully defended. Deandra Dottin, a batting all-rounder, will strengthen the Giants' lineup. Nadine de Klerk and Sophie Devine have been excluded from RCBW, among other major changes.
