Hardik Tamore appeared as the hero of Mumbai behind their second win of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 (VHT 2025-26). On December 26, Mumbai claimed their second consecutive win in the tournament by defeating Uttarakhand. Tamore played an unbeaten 93* (82) for a winning cause. After the match, the cricketer candidly said that it was Rohit Sharma who helped him a lot to develop batting.

While Uttarakhand was battling toe-to-toe with a star-studded Mumbai playing eleven, netizens discovered that Tamore's face is similar to Rohit Sharma's. Sharma and Tamore were in the fielding side by side, so the cricket fans with ease found some similarities in their looks. More than the looks, it was the batting effort of Tamore who made the headlines.

In the first innings of the match, the batting line-up of Mumbai was struggling as their star performers like Rohit Sharma and Angkrish Raghuvanshi departed early. A strong partnership between Musheer Khan (55) and Sarfaraz Khan (55) helped the team to endure the early blows. Later, Tamore took the total of Mumbai well over the 300-run mark. During his unbeaten 93-run knock, the keeper-batter smashed a couple of over-boundaries and seven boundaries.

While talking with the media, Tamore claimed that Rohit Sharma helped him a lot to brush up his batting skills. The 28-year-old further claimed that before the match, he talked with the former India skipper for one to one and a half hours and gathered some valuable knowledge which helped him a lot during the match-winning knock. Tamore got the Man of the Match award as well.

Mumbai, batting first, registered 331/7 in the first innings. With Yuvraj Chaudhary (96) and the skipper Kunal Chandela (32), Uttarakhand got a good start, which they failed to carry from the halfway point of the second innings. Uttarakhand got 280/9 in their 50-over limit; Mumbai won by a 51-run margin.

Rohit Sharma was in great form as Mumbai kicked off their 2025-26 season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy with an impressive win over Sikkim. Rohit smashed an impressive 155 off just 94 balls, leading his team to win the match by eight wickets, led by Shardul Thakur.

Apart from Rohit’s brilliant knock, a photo from Mumbai’s innings caught everyone’s attention. The picture showed Rohit standing next to Mumbai wicketkeeper-batter Hardik Tamore, who looks very similar to him. The resemblance surprised many fans.

Since the match was not shown on TV or online platforms, the photo appeared on social media only on Christmas Day, December 25. Many fans initially thought the image was edited but later realized that Tamore naturally looks a lot like Rohit Sharma.

Tamore is a competent wicket-keeper batsman who typically bats in the middle order. He has often played useful cameos and has earned praise for finishing innings strongly when Mumbai needed quick runs.
