Mohammed Siraj, India’s leading wicket-taker in Tests this year, shared a light-hearted moment with West Indies batter Justin Greaves on Day Four of the second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Monday.

The interaction between Siraj and Greaves quickly went viral on social media. During the 10th-wicket stand between Greaves and Jayden Seales, Siraj playfully signaled, seemingly trying to “warn” Greaves, as if telling him not to score any more runs.

Justin Greaves did not listen to Siraj and smashed a fifty as India finally bowled out West Indies after almost 199 overs.

India needed just 121 runs to win the second Test and sweep the series 2-0 after bowling out the determined West Indies for 390. At stumps, India reached 63/1 in 18 overs.

Greaves and Seales Frustrate India

Greaves, unbeaten on 50, and Jayden Seales (32) added 79 runs for the final wicket, frustrating the Indian bowlers at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium.

John Campbell (115) and Shai Hope (103) had earlier guided West Indies into the lead after the tourists resumed at 173-2 while following on. The left-right pair added 177 runs for the third wicket.

Campbell reached his first Test century with a six off Ravindra Jadeja before Jadeja trapped him lbw in the morning session. Hope continued after lunch and scored his first Test hundred in eight years with a boundary off Mohammed Siraj. Siraj got his revenge soon after by bowling Hope.

Kuldeep Yadav, who took 5/82 in the first innings, dismissed wicketkeeper Tevin Imlach lbw for two. He then struck twice in three balls, including skipper Roston Chase for 40.

However, Greaves and Seales held off the Indian bowlers for 133 deliveries using straight-bat shots until Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Seales.

India had enforced the follow-on after bowling out West Indies for 248, a deficit of 270 runs from India’s first-innings 518/5 declared. India had won the first Test in Ahmedabad by an innings.

The fourth day of the second Test between India and West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi started with the home side’s desire to break the overnight century third-wicket stand between Shai Hope and John Campbell. After enforcing the follow-on and picking two wickets, they failed to break the opponent’s stand for the entire third session.

The morning session started with India trying various plans. Jasprit Bumrah made life harder for John Campbell, who was on his 90s by that time. But he survived that period and celebrated his maiden Test hundred with a huge six, swept with the spin to Ravindra Jadeja. It was high time for the Indian bowlers to break the stand to dismiss one of the batters.

After the drinks break, Jadeja found the outside edge of Campbell, but Dhruv Jurel failed to grab the ball, which went between the keeper and the slip fielder into the boundary. However, on the very next delivery, the left-handed batter tried a reverse sweep and failed to connect with the ball.

Jadeja kept running in the cerebral appeal as Jurel and KL Rahul kept appealing to the umpire. Paul Reiffel took eternity before raising the vital finger once the spinner turned down on the appeal. Campbell sent it upstairs as the review confirmed no bat was involved with the ball going into hit the stumps to show three reds.

It was the end of a terrific knock from Campbell, who smashed 115 runs, with the help of 12 boundaries and three sixes. He also became the first West Indies opening batter to celebrate a century in India after 19 years. His 177-run stand with Shai Hope for the third wicket is their highest ever stand for the wicket against India in India.

West Indies had almost erased the deficit, but they will aim to get a lead of around 200 or 250 runs, which would throw a challenge for the home batting unit. They were 1-0 behind in he series, and it would be their job to push for the win.

John Campbell, the West Indies opener, has etched his name in the history books as the first Caribbean opener to score a Test hundred in India in 23 years. The knock was particularly critical as the West Indies sought to redeem themselves from a disappointing start to the series. Keeping his cool and playing with stroke play and temperament, Campbell negotiated the Indian bowlers with calmness and poise and proved his worth on one of the most challenging pitches for any visiting batsmen.

Campbell’s innings was filled with elegant drives, quick singles, and laser-like focus. He crafted solid partnerships that gave the West Indies innings some much-needed stability in its foundations. His ability to read spin and match the pace of Indian conditions spoke to the vast improvement of his model as a Test player. The last West Indies opener to achieve this benchmark in India was Sherwin Campbell back in 2002, so undoubtedly, this performance would invoke a considerable reaction from the Caribbean cricket fans on a day when the universe seemed outside of his orbit.

The century not only represented individual brilliance from John Campbell, but it also symbolizes hope for West Indies cricket. For the longest time, the region's openers have struggled playing in subcontinent conditions, but Campbell's hundred showed that the new generation is willing to put their hand up. His innings may encourage many young West Indian players to believe it is possible to find success through consistent hard work, even if it is in unfamiliar territory.

A Moment to Remember

John Campbell's century was not only about runs but also about character and confidence; facing world-class bowlers, he looked completely unfazed. With each shot played, he provided control and intent and assisted the team towards early momentum, with jubilant celebrations when noticing the three-figure mark.

This innings will be remembered for more than just breaking a 23-year-long record, but for what belief, grit, and determination of the human spirit can achieve. Campbell's knock reminded the cricketing world that the Caribbean still has fire and fight left in a resurgent batting lineup, and the Caribbean spirit in Test cricket is indeed very much alive.

India made a strong start to the first Test against the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, as their pacers struck early on Day 1. After winning the toss, West Indies captain Roston Chase chose to bat first, but the decision backfired. On a red-soil pitch with grass, Indian fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah bowled with great control and reduced West Indies to 20 for 2 within the first seven overs. India got the early advantage and set the tone for the match.

Mohammed Siraj struck the first blow by dismissing Tagenarine Chanderpaul for a duck. The left-hander, making a return to Test cricket, faced 11 balls before gloving a ball down the leg side to wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel. Siraj bowled two maiden overs before this wicket, showing his accuracy. Soon after, Jasprit Bumrah joined in by removing John Campbell for 8. Captain Shubman Gill went for a review after the umpire gave it not out, and replays showed a clear edge. The decision was overturned, giving Bumrah his first wicket.

The quick wickets pushed West Indies on the back foot. Without key players like Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph, their lineup looked weaker. Now the responsibility was on experienced batters Shai Hope and Roston Chase to build the innings under pressure from India’s bowlers. The home side looked positive and sharp in the field, with Gill captaincy.

West Indies in Trouble, India on Top

India entered the series in great form, having recently won the Asia Cup. For Shubman Gill, this is his first home Test series as captain, and his quick review call showed sharp leadership. The bowling unit, with a mix of quality pacers and spinners, looked well set to dominate the game in these conditions. Siraj and Bumrah’s early strikes highlighted India’s strength and gave them full control on the opening morning.
