For the fifth time in the history of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) became the winner of the tournament. They defeated the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final of CPL 2025 by 3 wickets and lifted the trophy. As the tournament concluded for this season, cricket fans are curious to know about the prize money structure and individual award winner names. Like every other T20 franchise league in the world, the winner of the Caribbean Premier League also claimed hefty prize money.As per reports, Trinbago Knight Riders, champion of CPL 2025, claims a whopping prize money of $1 million. Amazon Warriors, the runner-up of the competition, also achieved a bag full of money. They received $660,000. For the 3rd and 4th place holders, there are also good paychecks as well.

Individual Award Winners

There are also some separate acknowledgments and rewards for individual brilliances. Like the experienced all-rounder Kieron Pollard. The 2025 edition of the Caribbean Premier League will be remembered for the former international's heroics. For TKR, he was not only consistent with the bat but also was in continuous form with his bowling and fielding efforts as well.

Another veteran, Imaran Tahir, the leader of Amazon Warriors, also stunned everyone by his spin bowling performances. Tahir emerged as the highest wicket taker of the tournament with 23 wickets. In 13 matches and 11 innings, Pollard scored 383 runs and claimed a wicket, keeping the economy rate below 9. Akeal Hosein, with his spin bowling abilities, clinched two dangerous batters—Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer—to keep the Amazon Warriors' total under control.

Trinbago Knight Riders had a solid run through the league stage, finishing third on the table with six wins and four defeats. They have lifted their level in the playoffs, first cruising past Antigua and Barbuda Falcons by 9 wickets in the Eliminator, then brushing aside Saint Lucia Kings in Qualifier 2 with a commanding 56-run victory. 

On the other hand, Guyana Amazon Warriors have been one of the standout teams in this year’s Caribbean Premier League, finishing second in the group stage with six wins and four defeats. They carried that form into the playoffs, beating Saint Lucia Kings by 14 runs in Qualifier 1 to book their place in the final.

Dhoni is the joint-most successful captain of the IPL with Rohit, having earned five titles in the IPL. In 242 innings of the franchise T20 league, the experienced campaigner smacked 5439 runs at an average of 38.30 and a strike rate of 137.45, thanks to 24 half-centuries at the best score of 84*. Pollard also shed light on his experience with Rohit.

“I’ve played Under-19 cricket with Sharma since then, and playing international cricket alongside and against, and playing underneath, I think he’s a fantastic, fantastic cricketer. The records that he has in one-day cricket, especially, are just phenomenal, and he has led us as our captain to five championship trophies as well.” Pollard revealed.

Dhoni is anticipated to be back for the CSK side in the 2026 season of the IPL, while Rohit has started practice for his return to the Indian cricket team for the upcoming three-match 50-over series against Australia down under. Pollard clubbed Dwaine Pretorious for two successive sixes into the mid-wicket region on the penultimate and last ball of the 18th over. He fired up against the Guyana captain, Imran Tahir, to whack him for a four on the second ball of the 19th over before hoisting it high and over the long-on region for an over boundary. On the third and fourth deliveries of the last over, he displayed the same feat.

On the fifth delivery of the last over, Pollard swiveled and pulled the short ball to the short leg region for a fine boundary to celebrate his fifty in just 17 balls. On the last ball, he stayed back and opened the bat face to squeeze it through the backward point region for a boundary to shoulder them over the 165-run mark in 20 overs of the allotted innings.

Pollard now has overall smacked 14145 runs in 637 innings of the shortest format at an average of 31.85 and a strike rate of 151.26, thanks to 66 half-centuries and one century at the best score of 104 runs. Overall, in his CPL 2025, he is the fourth leading run-getter with 291 runs in six innings at a strike rate of 185.35.

Despite the knock, Trinbago wasn’t able to earn the victory as Guyana started their home leg with a nervy penultimate ball finish with three wickets in hand. Even after the loss, Trinbago stay at the top position of the points table with six wins in nine games for 12 points at a net run rate of +0.106.

38-year-old Kieron Pollard is still going strong. 7 sixes in 8 balls in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2025) against the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. In the 19th match of the tournament, the experienced batter created absolute mayhem at Brian Lara Cricket Stadium in Trinidad and Tobago. Against SKN, the Trinbago Knight Riders batter scored 65 off 29, maintaining a strike rate of 224.14, powered by a couple of boundaries and eight boundaries.

During an over against Afghanistan spinner Waqar Salamkheil, Pollard went berserk, smashing back-to-back boundaries. Salamkheil had nothing to do but to smile after losing all hope to stop the Caribbean giant. With the help of the 65-run innings, the former West Indies international pushed Knight Riders' innings to 179 runs in 20 overs. At this point in the match, TKR lost 3 batters for only 78 runs. From there, Pollard initiated to drag the run rate. When I returned to the pavilion, TKR was on 168. So far in CPL 2025, the all-rounder has scored 223 runs in 7 matches and 6 innings at an average of 74.33 and a 182.78 strike rate. In the tournament, he already smacked a couple of half centuries as well.

During the Major League Cricket 2025, he was also in terrific form throughout the tournament. In 12 games for MI New York, he accumulated 317 runs at an average of 39.62, including the highest score of 70 runs. It was his best performance on average in the MLC.

CPL stats and T20I stats in brief 

In CPL, Pollard's best season was during the 2019 campaign with TKR, when he scored 349 runs in 12 matches at an average of 58.16.

During his international career for the West Indies, the big man played 101 T20I matches between 2008 and 2022 to score 1,569 runs at an average of around 25.3, including six half-centuries with a top score of 75 not out. With the ball, he took 42 wickets at an average of about 28.3, with best figures of 4 for 25.

India Champions secured their first victory over West Indies Champions with all-round effort. The game was hosted in Leicester, and India chased 145 runs in 13.2 overs, while winning by 5 wickets in the 15th game of IPL 2025.

West Indies batted first after winning the toss, but they didn't have a great start during the powerplay. Lendl Simmons, Chris Gayle, and Chadwick Walton were in the pavilion before long. Yusuf Pathan also joined the party and smashed 21 not out off only 7 balls, ending the game in style. India reached the target in only 13.2 overs and recorded a comfortable victory. It was a good collective effort of India, with both the bat and ball. West Indies again struggled, and except for Pollard, nobody came up in their team.

It was absolute carnage in Northampton as Australia Champions made light work of a modest 143-run target, chasing it down in just 9.3 overs to beat West Indies Champions by 8 wickets in the World Championship of Legends 2025.

Batting first, West Indies never really got going. Dwayne Smith scored 22 runs, Chris Gayle scored 21 runs, and Lendl Simmons 29 runs all got decent starts but couldn’t convert them into big scores. Their middle order struggled, and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Dwayne Bravo tried to fight back with a quick 26 off 17 balls, but Australia’s bowling attack kept things tight. Peter Siddle was the pick of the bowlers, grabbing 3 wickets, while Coulter-Nile took 2. West Indies finished with 142/8 in 20 overs, which seemed just about competitive until Chris Lynn walked out to bat.

The Aussie opener went berserk, smashing the ball to all parts of the ground. He blasted 81 runs from only 27 balls, including 6 fours and 8 huge sixes. He completely destroyed the Windies bowling attack. Shaun Marsh and Chris Lynn gave Australia a fiery start, and even after Lynn got out, Ben Dunk came in and finished things off in style with a stunning 30 off 9 balls.

Australia ended on 143/2 in just 9.3 overs, winning the match with a 63 balls to spare. It was a one-sided affair that showed just how dangerous the Aussie Legends can be when their batters get going. West Indies will have to go back to the drawing board after this heavy defeat, while Australia will be full of confidence moving forward in the tournament.

The Australian Champion will be a little upset with the result as they had England struggling with the bat when rain halted play. Lee would look to play hard against the West Indies, as they will put up a stronger fight.

Among those 17 T20 titles, the all-rounder claimed only 10 with the MI franchise. The final of MLC 2025 in brief 

Though in the final of MLC 2025, the Caribbean was not able to impress the audience. After facing 3 balls, he went back to the hut with a duck, and with the ball, he offered a total of 20 runs in a couple of overs. Trent Boult and Rushil Ugarkar emerged as the heroes of the match by clinching a brace each. Rachin Ravindra (70), Glenn Phillips (48*), and Jack Edwards (33) batted well to match the required run rate, but that was not enough. In the crucial moments, Washington Freedom lost wickets, and New York tightened their grip on the match.

Quinton de Kock, MI NY opener, scored 77 off 46 to secure 180 on the scoreboard in the 20-over quota. Washington in their innings got 175 for 5. Ugarkar claimed the man of the match award for his clinical bowling spell.
