In a recent video, which has gone viral on social media, Suryakumar was mesmerized when his father's video was shown to a group of audience who had turned up in numbers to get a glimpse of him. Mr 360 highlighted how his father played an instrumental role in shaping his career from an early age.

<![CDATA[IPL 2025: Is Deepak Chahar set to miss the Eliminator clash against GT?]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/will-deepak-chahar-miss-the-eliminator-game-against-gt-here-s-the-truth/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/will-deepak-chahar-miss-the-eliminator-game-against-gt-here-s-the-truth/ Thu, 29 May 2025 08:07:24 GMT

Ahead of the Eliminator clash, which is slated to take place between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 30, the MI camp dropped a huge bombshell on Deepak Chahar's availability. The update is not a positive one by any means, as Chahar seems to be nursing a hamstring injury, which he picked up on May 26 during MI's encounter with PBKS. While MI have not issued any official confirmation about his availability yet, recent reports have raised concerns about his fitness.

Chahar's injury concerns have sparked heightened rumors amongst the cricket fans, and in all likelihood, the pacer could be sidelined from the upcoming do-or-die clash for his side. Chahar was seen receiving treatment along the sidelines during MI's last league game clash against PBKS. Sadly, the 32-year-old hasn't fully recovered from the injury and continues to be under the close supervision of the MI medical staff.

With Corbin Bosch, Ryan Rickleton and Will Jacks already out of tournament to fulfill their national duties it will be very crucial for the five times IPL champions to stick to their core and back their strength. However, Chahar has had a mixed season so far. The star MI all rounder has taken 11 wickets in the 14 matches of IPL 2025, with an economy of 9.17 and best figures 2/12.

🚨UPDATE FROM MUMBAI INDIANS CAMP

Deepak Chahar has long history of injury

Injuries are nothing new for the MI pacer. Previously, in the 2024 IPL season, Chahar sustained a similar type of hamstring injury during a match against Punjab Kings, forcing him to leave the field after delivering just two balls. CSK head coach Stephen Fleming expressed concern, stating that the initial assessment of the injury "wasn't great".

Chahar has a long history of picking up injuries, and if rumors are to be believed, his participation in the upcoming eliminator could be in massive jeopardy. So far, he has claimed 11 wickets in 14 matches for the Mumbai Indians up to this point in the season. Chahar's absence in the Eliminator clash can trigger concerns regarding the team’s playing XI combination, at a time when the five-time champions can't afford any slip-ups.

<![CDATA["Our son is not your entertainment": Sanjana Ganesan slams trolls after son Angad mocked during IPL Match]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/our-son-is-not-your-entertainment-sanjana-ganesan-slams-trolls-after-son-angad-mocked-during-ipl-match/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/our-son-is-not-your-entertainment-sanjana-ganesan-slams-trolls-after-son-angad-mocked-during-ipl-match/ Mon, 28 Apr 2025 13:38:47 GMT

Sports anchor Sanjana Ganesan stood up firmly to online trolls who trolled her and Jasprit Bumrah's toddler son, Angad, for the way he looked during the Mumbai Indians' match against Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium. Writing a strong statement on Instagram, Sanjana asserted that she would not want her 1.5-year-old son involved in social media gossip.

"Our son is NOT a topic for your entertainment," she wrote. "Jasprit and I do everything we can to keep Angad away from social media because the internet is a vile, despicable place. I understand the risks of bringing a child to a stadium full of cameras, but please know Angad and I were only there to support Jasprit and nothing more."

The unfortunate trolling came after a clip of Angad’s expression went viral online. Some users even irresponsibly used terms like "depression" and "trauma" to describe the toddler’s natural reactions, something that left Sanjana deeply hurt.

"Throwing around words like trauma and depression for a baby says a lot about what we are becoming as a society, and it’s honestly really sad," she added. "You know nothing about our son, nothing about our lives. I request you to keep your opinions true to that." Jasprit Bumrah also shared Sanjana’s post on his Instagram story, backing his wife’s heartfelt message.

A Special Night for Bumrah on the Field, a Tough One for the Family Off It

While the online drama unfolded, it was a night to remember for Jasprit Bumrah on the field. The MI pacer delivered a match-winning spell, picking up 4 wickets for just 22 runs, helping Mumbai Indians crush LSG by 54 runs. In the process, Bumrah became Mumbai Indians’ all-time highest wicket-taker in IPL history, a major milestone for the 31-year-old. Since his comeback from injury, Bumrah has been in brilliant form, collecting 9 wickets in 6 games at an average of just 16 and keeping his economy under 7.5 runs per over.

Sanjana and Jasprit, who tied the knot in 2021, welcomed their son Angad in September 2023. The couple recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in March this year. Despite the ugly side of fame they sometimes face, Bumrah and Sanjana remain one of Indian cricket’s most loved and admired couples, known for their humility, grace, and strong bond.

Sunday's experience was a reminder that while players and their families contribute so much happiness to fans, they, too, are worthy of privacy, respect, and kindness outside of the game.

During the game against Mumbai Indians, Rishabh Pant as a captain seemed clueless and was slow in decision-making as the LSG bowlers completed the first innings within two hours. A T20 innings usually takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete, but the Lucknow team took 20 minutes more and their captain might have to bear the ire of IPL.

The governing body of the IPL has been typically firm in its decisions and Pant may be fined heavily for the slow over-rate Vs MI. Interestingly, this may be Pant's second such offense, with the first also against Mumbai on April 4. The last time he was fined 12 lakhs, but if he is punished again, the fine amount may be higher.

As the season unfolds, Pant and LSG will need to make a concerted effort to improve their time management. The captain's quick and efficient handling of on-field strategies will be crucial to staying away from additional fines, and more significantly, preventing his team from losing out on valuable moments in close matches. With the heat on, Pant will have to weigh his fiery leadership against a keener emphasis on discipline in order to lead his team to the playoffs in IPL 2025.

MI post commanding 215/7

Placed in to bat first, Mumbai Indians put up a commanding 215/7. The rampage was spearheaded by Ryan Rickelton, who hit a sparkling fifty and provided a blazing beginning to the team. The responsibility was taken forward by Suryakumar Yadav, who also hit 54 off 28 balls and assisted the team in putting up a well-composed total.

In response, LSG began on a belligerent note as Mitch Marsh and Aiden Markram both began with an onslaught of boundaries, but Jasprit Bumrah did the damage and got the risky Markram out for 9 off 11 balls as the team still needs 178 runs for victory.

Lucknow Super Giants suffered their sixth loss of the season – and a big one – as they suffered a 54-run defeat to Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Pursuing a mammoth goal of 216 runs at the Wankhede Stadium, LSG were dismissed for 161 in 20 overs; yet even while the match was practically lost, LSG's Ravi Bishnoi did not miss a chance to celebrate when he hit Jasprit Bumrah – MI's top pacer and one of the finest bowlers in any format – over long on for a six.

Bumrah, who had previously set the record for most wickets in the history of MI, was in the midst of his spell with the game practically sealed when Bishnoi chose to go hard at him. A length delivery by Bumrah induced Bishnoi to heave it over long-on for an enormous six, spoiling Bumrah's chance of a five-wicket haul. When the ball flew into the stands, Bishnoi could be seen grinning from ear to ear, pumping his fists and showing off his strike in front of Bumrah.

The outburst was not ignored. Bumrah, always the calm character, smiled wryly at the showmanship of Bishnoi's celebration. But this too did not come to a close. In the dugout, Lucknow skipper Rishabh Pant had a chuckle and gestured towards Bishnoi.

Mumbai Indians outclass LSG despite Bishnoi’s light-hearted six off Bumrah

But though Bishnoi had his moment of glory, Mumbai Indians had the evening in their pocket. Led by a scorching half-century by Suryakumar Yadav (54 off 28) and solid contributions by Ryan Rickelton, Naman Dhir, and debutant Corbin Bosch, MI put up an intimidating 215/7. Lucknow's run chase never really gained momentum as they lost early wickets, with Aiden Markram in the Powerplay and Rishabh Pant shortly afterwards, with both the batsmen not coming good at the critical moment.

Bishnoi's six off Bumrah, while ultimately to have no bearing on the result of the match, provided LSG supporters with a brief opportunity to rejoice. It more importantly served to demonstrate that cricket, at its core, is still a game of sudden excitement and carefree moments, regardless of the magnitude of the stakes. The Bishnoi six clip and his mockingly taunting gesture soon went viral on social media, and the fans just adored the exuberance and spirit displayed. Amidst a tournament replete with pressure and intensity, such moments serve as a soothing reminder of the reasons the IPL is cherished by millions of people across the globe.

In the match played between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants in 45 match of IPL 2025, Hardik Pandya's platoon has won by 54 runs. With this, Mumbai has now reached the second position in the points table. This is Lucknow's fifth defeat this season. With which it now seems very difficult for Rishabh Pant's team to reach the playoffs. Let's take a look at today's match.

In the match, Mumbai Indians batted first and scored 215 runs in 20 overs. This included 58 runs from opener Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav's quick 54 runs. Apart from these two, Will Jacks 29 and Naman Dheer also played quick 25 runs. Due to which Mumbai's score crossed 200. In response, Lucknow's innings was limited to 161 runs. Ayush Badoni scored the highest 35 runs for Lucknow. While in Mumbai's bowling, Bolt took 3 and Bumrah took 4 wickets. These two bowlers of Mumbai had wrapped up more than half of Lucknow's innings. In this way Mumbai has won the match by 54 runs.

The journey of both the teams in this season

Now let's take a look at the performance of Mumbai and Lucknow in the current IPL season. In which such a performance is no less than a miracle for Mumbai. Because it won only 1 match out of its first 5 matches. After which it was believed that this season too the Mumbai franchise would not be able to reach the playoffs. But now this team is at second place in the points table with 6 wins and 4 losses in 10 matches.

On the other hand, the current IPL season has been full of ups and downs for Lucknow. The team loses one match and wins the other. Lucknow has currently played 10 matches in this season. In these, the team has won 5 matches while it has faced defeat in 5 matches. This is the reason why Rishabh Pant's team is currently at sixth position in the points table.

In a thrilling encounter at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 54 runs in IPL 2025 Match 42. After setting a challenging total of 215/7, MI’s bowlers restricted LSG to just 161 all out, securing a comprehensive victory. Let’s delve into the key reasons behind Lucknow’s defeat.

LSG’s chase was derailed by inconsistent batting, early wickets, and MI’s relentless bowling attack, led by Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliance. MI batters also laid a platform, supported by Ryan Rickelton's 58 runs off 32 balls and Suryakumar Yadav's 54 runs off 28 balls; near the end, contributions from Naman Dhir and Corbin Bosch would ensure an excellent total that put MI's hat to victory in a great match.

1. Inconsistent Batting Performance

Lucknow Super Giants’ batting collapse was a pivotal reason for being defeated. Although Ayush Badoni (35 off 24) and Mitchell Marsh (34 off 22) put up some resistance, the others did not build on it. Important players, including Nicholas Pooran (15 off 12) and Rishabh Pant (22 off 18), faltered under pressure and could not build substantial innings. LSG regularly fell victim to wickets that curtailed momentum, resulted in wastage while trying to build partnerships, and prevented them from reaching 216 by 18 runs despite a reasonable start, as there must have been some level of batting confidence before they were dismissed.

2. Mumbai Indians’ Dominant Bowling Attack

Mumbai Indians’ bowling unit decimated LSG’s batting unit, led by Jasprit Bumrah’s phenomenal 4/22. On a dime, Bumrah’s blistering pace and yorkers accounted for openers Aiden Markram and Marsh early. He then broke LSG’s backbone by snapping up Pooran in the middle overs. Trent Boult followed Bumrah with a fiery 3/20, targeting the lower order, and Will Jacks provided a 2-wicket contribution, including taking out Pant at a key juncture. MI's bowlers maintained relentless, Hamburg-strength pressure, making it hard for LSG to build acceleration towards their target.

3. Lack of Discipline in Bowling

The bowling unit for LSG was no match for the explosive batting unit of the Mumbai Indians. While Mayank Yadav (2/40) and Avesh Khan (2/42) were able to pick up wickets, they undoubtedly failed to put the brakes on the scoring, particularly against openers Ryan Rickelton (58 off 32) and Suryakumar Yadav (54 off 28). MI’s middle-order hitters, Naman Dhir and Corbin Bosch (contributions of 20 and 35 runs, respectively), inflated the MI total to 215/7 as 60 runs were also cut in the last 4 overs. The LSG bowlers showed a lack of discipline in their lines and lengths, ultimately giving MI a total that would prove too steep to chase down on the Wankhede pitch.

In a thrilling encounter at the Wankhede Stadium on April 27, 2025, Mumbai Indians (MI) showcased their dominance by securing a commanding 54-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 45 of the IPL 2025 season.

Mumbai Indians Innings

Mumbai Indians set an imposing target of 215/7 in 20 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first. The MI innings was built on a blistering 94-run opening stand between Ryan Rickelton (58 off 32) and Suryakumar Yadav (54 off 28), who put the Lucknow bowlers under extreme pressure. Will Jacks added 29 from 21 balls, and in the end Naman Dhir (18 off 10) and Corbin Bosch (15* off 8) finished strongly, as MI posted well over 200. The Lucknow bowling attack of Mayank Yadav (2/40) and Avesh Khan (2/42) had no answers to contain the MI middle order, and even with Ravi Bishnoi (1/41) claiming Suryakumar's wicket, MI made runs freely.

Lucknow Super Giants Innings

In reply, Lucknow Super Giants were bowled out for 161, losing by 54 runs. Ayush Badoni (35 off 22) and Mitchell Marsh (34 off 24) fought back briefly, but the Lucknow batters were never able to seize the momentum. Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of the bowlers with 4/22, and Trent Boult (3/20) and Will Jacks (2/18) were good support. MI attacked the Super Giants, while the Lucknow batting never found their rhythm in their run chase, to help MI to a comfortable win.
