In a recent video, which has gone viral on social media, Suryakumar was mesmerized when his father's video was shown to a group of audience who had turned up in numbers to get a glimpse of him. Mr 360 highlighted how his father played an instrumental role in shaping his career from an early age.

From preparing lunch to dropping him off at school, his father took utmost care of him, assisting him in every little aspect of his life. A background on Surya's father

Suryakumar Yadav's father, Ashok Kumar Yadav, has retired from his position as an electrical engineer at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC) in Mumbai. He previously served as the chief engineer at BARC.

Ashok hails from Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, and moved to Mumbai for his job at BARC. His son, Suryakumar, began his cricketing journey in Mumbai, where he was enrolled in a cricket camp at the BARC colony in Anushakti Nagar at the age of 10 

Ahead of the Eliminator clash, which is slated to take place between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 30, the MI camp dropped a huge bombshell on Deepak Chahar's availability. The update is not a positive one by any means, as Chahar seems to be nursing a hamstring injury, which he picked up on May 26 during MI's encounter with PBKS. While MI have not issued any official confirmation about his availability yet, recent reports have raised concerns about his fitness.

Chahar's injury concerns have sparked heightened rumors amongst the cricket fans, and in all likelihood, the pacer could be sidelined from the upcoming do-or-die clash for his side. Chahar was seen receiving treatment along the sidelines during MI's last league game clash against PBKS. Sadly, the 32-year-old hasn't fully recovered from the injury and continues to be under the close supervision of the MI medical staff.

With Corbin Bosch, Ryan Rickleton and Will Jacks already out of tournament to fulfill their national duties it will be very crucial for the five times IPL champions to stick to their core and back their strength. However, Chahar has had a mixed season so far. The star MI all rounder has taken 11 wickets in the 14 matches of IPL 2025, with an economy of 9.17 and best figures 2/12.

Deepak Chahar has long history of injury

Injuries are nothing new for the MI pacer. Previously, in the 2024 IPL season, Chahar sustained a similar type of hamstring injury during a match against Punjab Kings, forcing him to leave the field after delivering just two balls. CSK head coach Stephen Fleming expressed concern, stating that the initial assessment of the injury "wasn't great".

Chahar has a long history of picking up injuries, and if rumors are to be believed, his participation in the upcoming eliminator could be in massive jeopardy. So far, he has claimed 11 wickets in 14 matches for the Mumbai Indians up to this point in the season. Chahar's absence in the Eliminator clash can trigger concerns regarding the team’s playing XI combination, at a time when the five-time champions can't afford any slip-ups.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) owner Sanjiv Goenka and his family greeted Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar following the match against Mumbai Indians (MI). The two teams clashed at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 27.

Goenka and members of his family were spotted chatting with Sachin Tendulkar at the stadium. He even hugged Sachin Tendulkar and his family members and were all smiles during his chat with the legend.

Sachin was spotted in MI colors as he has been linked with the franchise as a mentor for several years in the Indian Premier League (IPL).Sachin represented MI in six seasons of the IPL between 2008 and 2013. MI register fifth consecutive win in IPL 2025

Meanwhile, MI are looking unstoppable at the moment, posting their fifth win in a row of the season after defeating LSG by 54 runs at the Wankhede Stadium.They scored a humongous total of 215/7 batting first on the strength of half-centuries by Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav. Pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult then dominated with the ball, taking four and three wickets, respectively, as they bowled LSG out for a mere 161 runs ultimately.

Mumbai are on a roll as they went on to win their fifth successive match and earned a brilliant turnaround in the current season. Previously, they had lost four out of five of their opening games and were languishing at the lower rung of the table.But now they are among the top teams that can qualify for the playoffs with six victories and 12 points from 10 games. Sports anchor Sanjana Ganesan stood up firmly to online trolls who trolled her and Jasprit Bumrah's toddler son, Angad, for the way he looked during the Mumbai Indians' match against Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium. Writing a strong statement on Instagram, Sanjana asserted that she would not want her 1.5-year-old son involved in social media gossip.

"Our son is NOT a topic for your entertainment," she wrote. "Jasprit and I do everything we can to keep Angad away from social media because the internet is a vile, despicable place. I understand the risks of bringing a child to a stadium full of cameras, but please know Angad and I were only there to support Jasprit and nothing more."

The unfortunate trolling came after a clip of Angad’s expression went viral online. Some users even irresponsibly used terms like "depression" and "trauma" to describe the toddler’s natural reactions, something that left Sanjana deeply hurt.

"Throwing around words like trauma and depression for a baby says a lot about what we are becoming as a society, and it’s honestly really sad," she added. "You know nothing about our son, nothing about our lives. I request you to keep your opinions true to that." Jasprit Bumrah also shared Sanjana’s post on his Instagram story, backing his wife’s heartfelt message.

A Special Night for Bumrah on the Field, a Tough One for the Family Off It

While the online drama unfolded, it was a night to remember for Jasprit Bumrah on the field. The MI pacer delivered a match-winning spell, picking up 4 wickets for just 22 runs, helping Mumbai Indians crush LSG by 54 runs. In the process, Bumrah became Mumbai Indians’ all-time highest wicket-taker in IPL history, a major milestone for the 31-year-old. Placed in to bat first, Mumbai Indians put up a commanding 215/7. The rampage was spearheaded by Ryan Rickelton, who hit a sparkling fifty and provided a blazing beginning to the team. The responsibility was taken forward by Suryakumar Yadav, who also hit 54 off 28 balls and assisted the team in putting up a well-composed total.

Mumbai Indians outclass LSG despite Bishnoi’s light-hearted six off Bumrah

But though Bishnoi had his moment of glory, Mumbai Indians had the evening in their pocket. Led by a scorching half-century by Suryakumar Yadav (54 off 28) and solid contributions by Ryan Rickelton, Naman Dhir, and debutant Corbin Bosch, MI put up an intimidating 215/7. Lucknow's run chase never really gained momentum as they lost early wickets, with Aiden Markram in the Powerplay and Rishabh Pant shortly afterwards, with both the batsmen not coming good at the critical moment.
