The 37th match IPL 2023 was played between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. The home team’s captain – Sanju Samson- won the toss and chose to bat first.

During the 20th over of the 1st innings, the two youngsters Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel were batting. On the 4th delivery of the over Matheesha Pathirana bowled a low full-toss outside the leg stump, Padikkal try to flick it but missed. The veteran wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni dived to his right and stopped the ball, got up in a moment, and made a great throw to dismiss Rajasthan Royals batter Dhruv Jurel who looked in great touch in the 1st innings of the match. MS Dhoni’s direct hit was brilliant and Dhruv Jurel was caught short.

Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings by 32 runs tonight at their home ground – Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. They already had the home advantage, in addition to that RR skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bat first. While batting in the first innings, Rajasthan Royals’ opener Yashasvi Jaiswal shone with the bat as he scored 77 runs off 43 deliveries. But the quick fires by Dhruv Jurel and Devdutt Padikkal towards the end of the 1st innings gave Rajasthan Royals an upper hand in the games. Jurel scored 34 runs at a strike rate of 226.67 before MS Dhoni’s direct hit dismissed him. On the other hand, Devdutt Padikkal scored 27 runs in 13 balls with the help of 5 boundaries. The factor of mental pressure was also present as in the history of the Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royals never lost a match while defending 200+ runs.

RR bowlers also performed well except for Jason Holder and Yuzvendra Chahal. Jason Holder got hit for 49 runs in the 4 over while Yuzvendra Chahal conceded 21 runs in 2 overs.
