The growth of Nepal Cricket is extraordinary, as the cricketing world has witnessed an unprecedented interest in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026, which is about to commence. The demand for tickets for their games in the event has been crazy, which has questioned the rivalry between the India and Pakistan sides.

Apart from the host India, Nepal has recorded the highest ticket sales for the upcoming tournament, which has signaled a wave of support for the travelers into the stadium. The biggest excitement has been around the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, which will serve as the primary venue for the national team in the group stage of the competition.

The reports have claimed that the enthusiasm of the Nepalese public has been remarkable in the tournament, as the sheer volume of bookings suggests that Rohit Paudel and his men will have a significant home advantage even playing on foreign soil.

Nepal's ticket sales bring craze in T20 World Cup 2026

Nepal will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against England in Mumbai on February 08 before locking horns with Italy at the same ground on February 12, which will be an afternoon fixture, making it essential for their spinners to make a mark in the game with the dry ball.

The third group stage encounter for Nepal will be against the West Indies at the same venue. They currently own the home series against this opposition in Sharjah, which will be a massive boost for the players heading into the T20 World Cup, as this game will be a morning game, making it important for the Pacers to use the new ball.

The last group-stage encounter for Nepal will be against Scotland at the same venue on February 17, which will be an evening game. It will be interesting to see their progress in the campaign.

Milestone moment for Nepal cricket. They defeated Pakistan in a cricket match, that too in a World Cup event. Nepal and Pakistan faced each other in a crucial encounter of the Women's Blind T20 World Cup 2025, and they won the game by 10 wickets. As soon as the batter hit the winning stroke, cricketers of the Nepal cricket team rushed into the ground with their nation's flag.

Batting first, Pakistan registered 170 runs for the loss of seven wickets in Bengaluru. Nepal achieved the target without losing any wickets in the ongoing first Women's T20 World Cup for visually impaired women. In the process, the Women's Blind team captain of Nepal, Binita Pun, played a match century by scoring 107 runs in 54 balls. During the creation of the innings, she smashed 14 boundaries. From the other end, it was Mankeshi Chaudhary, who supported the skipper throughout the second innings by scoring 43 runs.

Binita Pun, who is a B-3 category batter, got the unbeaten 107 runs against only 54 deliveries. And Mankeshi Chaudhary, a B-2 category batter, got 43 not out off 31. Surprisingly, Pakistani bowlers were not able to pull down any wicket of the Nepal cricket team.

The week-long tour will take place across Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and Bengal, offering the side valuable match time and varied conditions ahead of a packed international calendar.

Return to Action After Malaysia Triumph

This tour marks Nepal’s return to action following their impressive 3-2 T20I series win over Malaysia earlier this year. Captain Indu Barma was outstanding with the bat, scoring 117 runs in five innings at an average of 58.50, while right-arm medium pacer Kabita Kunwar led the bowling charts with 9 wickets in four innings, averaging just 4.88.

Before that, Nepal also reached the Super Three stage of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Region Qualifier, finishing second with three wins in six matches, narrowly missing out on qualification.

During the tour, Nepal will face three domestic Indian sides, Rajasthan, Bengal, and Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU),  playing two T20 matches against each team. All six games will be played at the Aayush Cricket Academy, Chidderwala, Dehradun.

This series is designed to provide high-quality exposure in competitive Indian conditions, testing Nepal’s adaptability against varied spin and pace attacks.

The Hong Kong Sixes 2025 have started on November 07 with the clash between Afghanistan and Nepal in Pool A at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok, where a famous and incredible feat took place during the game. It was Rashid Khan, but not from Afghanistan- it was against Afghanistan from the Nepal side.

On the first ball of the fourth over, Rashid Khan, the right-arm pacer, came charging against Sediqullah Pacha on 13 runs in five balls. The right-handed batter looked to nail the slot delivery out of the ground, but it didn’t come on the middle of his blade and only flew in the air before the fielder grabbed the catch quite comfortably.

On the very next delivery, Sharafuddin Ashraf looks to slash the length of the delivery over the point region. He also didn’t get the same elevation, and the slower ball ended up in the hands of the fielder, Rupesh Singh, who came forward to grab the catch.

The question was whether Rashid could take a hat-trick on the third successive ball of the innings. Ijaz Ahmad Ahmadzai looked to use his entire power to smash the bowler straight down the ground, but he didn’t get the full power off the blade as the field grabbed a fine catch to send the batter back into the hut. Rashid finished with a fine figure of 4/27 in two overs.

Karim Janat smashed 35 runs in just 10 balls with the help of two boundaries and four sixes, while Farmanullah Safi stayed unbeaten on 30 runs in just nine balls, riding on two boundaries and three sixes. Their captain, Gulbadin Naib, cracked 22 runs in nine balls to push Afghanistan to 112/5 in their allotted six overs.

In reply, Nepal’s captain and wicket-keeper batter, Sundeep Jora, nailed 53 runs in 14 balls with the help of one boundary and eight sixes at a strike rate of 378.67. But still they fell short of the target by 17 runs. Safi was excellent with the ball and finished with 1/19 in his two overs.

They completed an unbeaten journey for the entire tournament with fabulous performances with the bat and ball.

All of their batters chipped in with small contributions to complete the chase by five wickets with two overs to spare.

Nepal's performance in the Asia and EAP Qualifier Super Six has been exceptional, as it narrowly defeated UAE and Qatar in two low-scoring matches. Those tight wins have lifted them to second place on the table, and they will now aim to carry that confidence forward in the matches to come.

Oman started their Super Six campaign in the Asia and EAP Qualifier on a strong note, beating Qatar by 34 runs and then edging out UAE by five wickets. Their place in the top of the table has been secured by their two wins, and with two more matches remaining, their qualification for the next stage looks almost certain.

Scoring pattern at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah:

Sharjah's pitches generally favour batsmen, making it easier for those with a good strike to score runs. Initially, the ball doesn't bounce much and comes straight, allowing batsmen to play accurate shots. Over time, the pitch is likely to wear down or break down, which can aid spin bowlers.
