Southern Brave Women’s dream run in The Hundred Women’s 2025 came to an end when they were defeated by Northern Superchargers Women in the grand final at Lord’s by seven wickets. Brave went through the group stage unbeaten but faltered when it mattered the most, only able to post 115/6 in their 100 balls. The Brave’s batting never gained any momentum because of the early wickets. The Superchargers executed their plans with respect to their bowling and fielding plans properly, which ensured, in comparison, Brave hardly ever had a chance. A fiery chase, led by Phoebe Litchfield and sealed by Annabel Sutherland and Nicola Carey, ensured Northern lifted their maiden title with 12 balls to spare, comfortably chasing the target in 88 balls. 1. Brave’s below-par total—restricted to just 115 for 6

The Southern Brave struggled badly with the bat, only scoring 115/6 off of 100 balls. Some early wickets by Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt-Hodge hurt their momentum and got them chasing the game. Never reached any acceleration in their innings, allowing Northern to dominate the game.

2. Northern’s strong bowling and sharp fielding

The Superchargers’ bowlers executed their plans perfectly, with Kate Cross and Annabel Sutherland taking two wickets each. Their sharp fielding added pressure, highlighted by the crucial run-out of captain Georgia Adams. Brave never recovered from these setbacks.

3. Superchargers’ pacey chase powered by Litchfield, Carey & Sutherland

Northern started strongly with Phoebe Litchfield’s explosive 26 off 13 balls. A steady unbeaten stand between Sutherland (28*) and Carey (35*) then finished the job comfortably. They chased the target in just 88 balls, handing Brave a seven-wicket loss.

Northern Superchargers-Women batter Davina Perrin becomes the first batter, man or woman, to smash a century in the ongoing edition of The Hundred Competition. The 18-year-old batting prodigy achieved this historic feat during the Eliminator clash of The Hundred Women's Competition on Saturday. Perrin launched a scathing attack on the London Spirit (Women), smashing a blazing 101 (43) to power the Supercharges to a humongous 214/5. By doing so, Perrin also became the youngest ever batter to score a century in the history of the Hundred Competition. 

The youngster was responsible for giving the Supercharges a rapid start at the top of the order. Rubbing shoulders with some of the best cricketers in women's cricket, Perrin showed no signs of nerves as she punched way above her weight to terrorize the Spirit bowlers. Together with Alice Davidson-Richards, Perrin mounted a massive 101-run stand for the first wicket. While Alice played the role of a second fiddle, Perrin allowed her bat to do the talking for the most part.

In her 43-ball onslaught, Perrin accounted for an unbelievable 15 fours and five sixes. As unbelievable as it may sound, nearly 90% of her runs came in boundaries. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that there were only nine singles and one double throughout the entirety of her blazing 43-ball knock. Eva Gray and Sarah Glenn were the most affected bowlers as they went around the park for 35 (11) and 21 (8), respectively.

The 18-year-old Wolverhampton-based batter received a huge round of applause from the Oval crowd as she gradually exited the field of play. Nevertheless, her electrifying ton propelled Northern Superchargers-Women to a commanding position, as their bowlers had sufficient runs on the board to play with. 

Charli Knott (40 off 16) and Georgia Redmayne (50 off 29) led a valiant effort with the bat, but a three-wicket haul from Grace Ballinger and Annabel Sutherland pegged London Spirit back and eventually restricted them to 172-9. 

In the 30th Match of The Hundred Women's 2025, at Headingley, Manchester Originals Women had a poor outing against Northern Superchargers Women, losing the game comprehensively. The Originals were dismissed for 94/10 in 95 balls, with Alice Monaghan (26) and Beth Mooney (20) being the only batters to score runs. Annabel Sutherland dominated the bowling effort as she grabbed 3/15. In addition, Nicola Carey (2/13) and Kate Cross (1/6) also did their part. The Superchargers comfortably achieved the target of 97 runs, losing only two wickets in 65 balls. As a result, the Northern Superchargers Women triumphed in the game with a wide margin of 8 wickets and 35 balls remaining. Below are the main reasons for the Manchester Originals Women defeat:

1. Early Batting Collapse

Manchester Originals were losing wickets quickly at regular intervals, with Mooney (20) and Dottin (11) going early. Their batting never settled against the very disciplined bowling led by Sutherland (3/15). With little partnerships, the pressure on the scoreboard just kept increasing. This collapse left them far short of a defendable total of just 94.

2. Dominant Superchargers Chase

Northern Superchargers’ batters ensured there was no doubt in the chase of 95. Sutherland (30 off 17) and Davidson-Richards (30 off 18) played aggressively from the start. Litchfield (26* off 20) provided stability to finish things off calmly. Their positive approach meant they sealed an 8-wicket win with 35 balls remaining.

3. Lack of Balance in Performances

The Originals were too reliant on a few batters to weigh in on the innings, with Monaghan (26) the top score. Once Mooney (20) and Monaghan were gone, the rest crumbled with pressure. The Superchargers' contribution came from multiple batters with the ball. This balance gave them a clear edge throughout the contest.

Northern Superchargers Women put on a solid all-round show to beat Oval Invincibles Women by 7 wickets, chasing down 126 with five balls left. Their bowlers kept things tight before the batters wrapped up the chase calmly.

The Invincibles never really got going. Captain Lauren Winfield-Hill tried to hold things together with 37 from 30 balls, while Joanne Gardner chipped in with an unbeaten 19 off 14. Meg Lanning made 21 from 25 but struggled for fluency. With wickets falling regularly, they couldn’t build a strong partnership. Kate Cross (2/16) and Annabel Sutherland (2/26) bowled with good control and made life tough for the batters.

In reply, the Superchargers looked comfortable. Alice Davidson-Richards led the way with a classy 50 from 32 balls, hitting nine fours. Phoebe Litchield supported her well with 29 from 21. Later, Nicola Carey finished the job quickly with 25 off just 15 balls. The Invincibles tried hard, and Amanda-Jade Wellington stood out with 1/19, but they couldn’t stop the Superchargers from crossing the line.

Northern Superchargers Women stayed unbeaten in The Hundred 2025 after beating London Spirit Women by 8 wickets. Spirit batted first but never looked settled and ended with just 90/8. Annabel Sutherland, Grace Ballinger, and Nicola Carey kept striking at the right times. Georgia Redmayne scored 29 from 29, and Issy Wong added an unbeaten 24 to give Spirit some late runs.

The Spirit batters struggled from the start, losing wickets regularly. Redmayne held one end, and Wong’s late knock gave them some hope, but the total was too small to trouble the Superchargers.

Spirit batted first but could only make 90/8 in their 100 balls, with Georgia Redmayne (29) the highest score, with small contributions from Issy Wong (24) and Charlotte Dean (12). The Superchargers' attack, led by Annabel Sutherland (3/20), kept Spirit under pressure throughout their innings. Superchargers chased the target down comfortably, reaching 93/2 in just 66 balls. London Spirit lost wickets quickly in clusters, being breached in the powerplay and escalating their downfall. Kira Chathli fell for a duck and Georgia Redmayne's 29 from 29 was the only real support. Spirit finished at 90/8, a paltry effort on a good batting pitch.

Batting first, the Originals struggled at the start. Captain Beth Mooney got out early, and runs were not coming easily. At one stage, they were 22/2 inside 25 balls. Amelia Kerr added some stability with 21 runs, but it was Deandra Dottin who completely changed the game.

She smashed a brilliant 51 from only 26 balls, hitting powerful shots all around the ground. Thanks to her knock, the Originals managed to post 117/5 in their 100 balls, which looked like a fighting total.

The Superchargers began their chase steadily, with Phoebe Litchfield (31) and Alice Davidson-Richards (29) keeping their side in the game. But the Originals bowlers never gave up. Kathryn Bryce took two important wickets early on, while Sophie Ecclestone (2/9) and Amelia Kerr (2/10) bowled wwll in crucial times.

After Deandra Dottin’s 51 not out off 26 balls and Amelia Kerr’s 21 helped the Originals reach 117/5, the reply from the Superchargers went to the gutters at 112/7 with a 5-run deficit despite the efforts of Phoebe Litchfield (31) and Alice Davidson-Richards (29). The home side’s bowling attack, consisting of Amelia Kerr and Sophie Ecclestone, maintained consistency and nailed a tight win. The bowlers of Manchester were very accurate in their execution during the most critical moments. Amelia Kerr (2/20), Sophie Ecclestone (2/21) and Kathryn Bryce (2/26) equally shared important wickets in the middle of the innings to hinder the Superchargers’ advance. Their timing of striking at the most crucial moments ensured the Superchargers suffered a loss by 5 runs, thereby granting the Originals a win of great necessity.

Northern Superchargers Women beat Birmingham Phoenix Women by eight wickets in Match 14 of The Hundred Women’s 2025. Phoenix batted first at Headingley but never got going, finishing on 116/6 in their 100 balls. Georgia Voll was the top scorer with 32 not out, while Sterre Kalis made 24. Linsey Smith and Lucy Higham bowled brilliantly for the Superchargers, taking two wickets each.

Chasing 117 to win, the Superchargers made it look easy, getting there in just 74 balls. Phoebe Litchfield was outstanding with an unbeaten 59 off 28 balls, while Annabel Sutherland hit 20 not out. Early contributions from Davina Perrin (14) and Alice Davidson-Richards (17) set the stage for the comfortable win.

Southern Brave Women made light work of Northern Superchargers Women, winning Match 11 of The Hundred Women’s Competition 2025 by 8 wickets.

Northern Superchargers won the toss and chose to bat, but their innings never got going. They were bundled out for just 102 runs in their 100 balls. Sophie Devine led the charge with the ball, taking 3 wickets for just 15 runs. Lauren Bell and Georgia Adams also bowled tightly, giving nothing away. Captain Hollie Armitage tried to fight back with an unbeaten 36 off 28 balls, but the rest of the batting order struggled to stay in.

Chasing 103, Southern Brave were in control from the start. Danielle Wyatt smashed 43 off 31 balls, while Laura Wolvaardt played a steady knock of 33 runs in 29 balls. Devine added the finishing touch with 15 runs in just 8 balls, as the team reached the target with 17 balls to spare. It was a strong all-round performance from Southern Brave, leaving the Superchargers with no answers on the day.
