Outer Delhi Warriors lost the game 30 by 7 wickets to New Delhi Tigers in the DPL 2025. While chasing 143, NDT was always in control, as their top order made a good start, which set the tone of the match very early on for them to have an easy chase. ODW’s innings of 142/7 in 20 overs did not have enough firepower, as the middle overs got unravelled and fielding errors were made. At the last moment, Tigers won the game with a comfortable margin as they reached their target, 144/3 in just 15.2 overs. Here are the top reasons why the Outer Delhi Warriors lost the match.

1. No partnerships in the Middle Overs

ODW’s middle order was completely unable to build any kind of partnerships, leading to the regular fall of wickets. The likes of Rishabh Drall (2 off 6) and Jitesh Singh (2 off 6) were dismissed at very cheap prices, which stopped the team from going further. Breakdowns of the middle overs significantly affected the Warriors’ batting tempo.

2. Failure to Restrict NDT's Top Order

After a couple of early wickets, ODW bowlers were not able to calm down the NDT top order. Shivam Gupta (59 off 43) and Himmat Singh (58 off 38) got together to compile a big partnership of 113 runs for the second wicket. This allowed the Tigers to take complete command of their innings at that point.

3. Missed Opportunities in the Field

Outer had several issues in the field, including bad throws and missed catches, which allowed the batters of NDT to exploit the situation. Boundaries were hit freely at the most important time of the match; consequently, the Tigers were given the momentum and it made the chase very simple.

Outer Delhi Warriors bounced back strongly, chasing a huge target to beat North Delhi Strikers by 7 wickets. North Delhi put up 193 runs, with Vaibhav Kandpal smashing 73 from 40 balls and Arjun Rapria scoring 33 from 19. But regular wickets meant they were bowled out before reaching 200.

Kandpal played a brilliant knock and Rapria added quick runs, but the team kept losing wickets and couldn’t finish well. The chase was all about Priyansh Arya’s explosive 76 from just 30 balls. He got good support from Rishabh Drall (38), while Keshav Dabas (46) and Dhruv Singh (26) guided the team home with ease and 12 balls left.

Tejasvi Dahiya lit up the night with a stunning unbeaten 70 off just 30 balls, guiding South Delhi Superstarz to a thrilling three-wicket win over Outer Delhi Warriors in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) Season 2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The rain-hit game was reduced to 16 overs a side.

Chasing 140, the Superstarz were in trouble early, losing three key batters including skipper Ayush Badoni in the first five overs. The pressure grew in the 10th over when set batter Anmol Sharma was dismissed, leaving them still more than 70 runs away with only six overs left.

That’s when Tejasvi took charge. Walking in at No. 5, he attacked from the start, sending the ball to all parts of the ground. With seven runs needed off the last two balls, he smashed a huge six and followed it with another big hit to win the match. His knock had 4 boundaries and 6 towering sixes. Sumit Kumar Beniwal added valuable runs with a quickfire 19 from seven balls.

For the Warriors, Suyash Sharma and Anshuman Hooda picked up two wickets each, while Harsh Tyagi was miserly, conceding only 15 runs in his three overs and taking one wicket.

Earlier, batting first, the Warriors couldn’t build long partnerships. Dhruv Singh top-scored with 42 off 31 balls, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes. Sanat Sangwan made a quick 26 from 14 balls, and Shivam Sharma chipped in with 21 from 14 balls towards the end. They finished on 139/8. For the Superstarz, Beniwal was the standout bowler with 3/28, while Aman Bharti kept things tight with an economical spell.

Outer Delhi Warriors faced a defeat in Match 22 of the Delhi Premier League 2025 as they lost to South Delhi Superstarz by three wickets in a rain-shortened 16-over game. After being put into bat, ODW could only score 139/8 as they lost wickets at regular intervals. SDS, with Tejasvi Dahiya scoring an explosive 70 off just 33 balls, cruised past the target. The defeat resulted in the departure of the Outer Delhi Warriors' ambitions of a higher position on the points table. Here are the main reasons why South Delhi Superstarz lost the match:

1. Ineffective Start After Batting First

Deciding to bat in slightly damp conditions ended poorly for ODW innings, as their top order did not provide a solid enough platform, as Priyansh Arya fell for only 9. Early wickets meant they never really gained any scoring momentum.

2. Consistent Bowling Pressure from SDS

Superstarz bowlers dictated the innings. The opening wicket from Aman Bharti really helped set the tone and then it was solid contributions from all others, like Sumit Kumar Beniwal (3/28) and Divansh Rawat (2/33), taking wickets when needed. This continued pressure ensured that ODW was unable to form any sizable partnerships.

3. Tejasvi Dahiya’s Match-Winning Knock

Dahiya's rampant batting changed the game completely in SDS's favor. He hit boundaries for fun and got to 70 off 33 balls. With a few quick cameos from Anmol Sharma (23 off 22) and Sumit Kumar Beniwal (19 off 7), with his innings SDS completed the chase easily.

Central Delhi Kings won by 12 runs against Outer Delhi Warriors in 20th match of Delhi Premier League 2025. CDS Batting first, they scored 161/8, with Aditya Bhandari hitting a quick 41 from 27 balls. In reply, Keshav Dabas fought hard with 64 runs, but CDK’s tight bowling made sure ODW fell short at 149/8.

The Kings lost Yash Dhull (2) and Yugal Saini (1) early, but Siddharth Joon (32) and captain Jonty Sidhu (29) steadied the innings. Then Aditya Bhandari played a strong knock, smashing 5 fours and a six in his 41 runs. Pranshu Vijayran added 15 runs late, and Jasvir Sehrawat’s quick 7 not out helped them finish above 160.

The Warriors had a terrible start, losing three wickets in the first three overs. Keshav Dabas scored 64 runs of 45 balls, hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes. Harsh Tyagi scored 31, but with wickets falling at regular intervals, they couldn’t catch up. CDK’s bowlers stayed disciplined and took control to seal the win.

The Central Delhi Kings won Match 20 of the DPL 2025 against the Outer Delhi Warriors by 12 runs and managed to remain unbeaten. CDK made a good score of 161/8 in their 20 overs innings with a firepower of 41 runs that came off 28 balls from Aditya Bhandari. Apart from Bhandari, Siddharth Joon (32) and Jonty Sidhu (29*) played well too. Despite good spells from Siddhant Sharma (3/33) and Shivam Sharma (2/21), the Kings set a competitive total. In reply, ODW managed 149/8, with Keshav Dabas scoring a fighting 64 off 45 balls. However, disciplined bowling from CDK’s attack ensured the Warriors fell short. Here are the main reasons why the Outer Delhi Warriors lost the match:

1. Lack of Partnerships

The rest of the batsmen were not able to provide much-needed support to Keshav Dabas, who scored an effortless 64. No one else could stay long to form important partnerships, so ODW found themselves chasing in isolation rather than as a unit.

2. CDK’s Tight Bowling Under Pressure

The Kings' bowling unit performed as one under the guidance of Simarjeet Singh (2/27), Money Grewal (2/28), and Pranshu Vijayran (2/37). By cutting off the opponents' runs via singles and doubles and getting timely wickets, they kept the chasing side below the required run rate throughout the match.

3. Middle-Order Power Hitting by CDK

Their good contributions from Aditya Bhandari, Siddharth Joon, and Jonty Sidhu gave necessary runs in the middle overs and thus allowed CDK to take their total beyond 160. Given the pitch conditions, it turned out to be the deciding factor in the match, which ensured that the victory was not easy to be achieved by the opponents.

The 14th match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 is scheduled between Central Delhi Kings (CDK) and Outer Delhi Warriors (ODW) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi, on Saturday, August 9, at 2:00 PM IST. CDK, unbeaten so far with three wins in three matches, are sitting comfortably at the top of the points table and will be eager to extend their perfect run to move closer to early qualification for the next round.

ODW, on the other hand, are faced with a rapid turnaround after their game against East Delhi Riders barely 1 day ago. One more defeat would continue putting pressure on their fight for consistency, and they will be eager to muster more strength to put up a challenge against the suddenly in-form CDK while keeping ODW a highly competitive one.

CDK vs ODW: Head-to-Head Record

This will be the maiden meeting between the Central Delhi Kings and the Outer Delhi Warriors. Therefore, the head-to-head record is 0-0 in history.

CDK vs ODW: Pitch Report

The surface at the Arun Jaitley ground generally provides good scoring opportunities for the batsmen:

  • Offers true and even bounce, perfect for stroke-makers.
  • Shorter boundaries help big hitters.
  • Pace bowlers can struggle in the middle and death overs.
  • From a spin perspective, they can still effect if they use different speeds and can vary their angles.
  • Expect another possible high-scoring contest; 180+ totals are very much in play if the top orders fire.

In Match 12 of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025, East Delhi Riders (EDR) won a run chase of 232 runs after a great run chase against Outer Delhi Warriors (ODW) by 5 wickets with just 4 balls left.

EDR had won the toss and decided to bowl first, but ODW’s batters came out swinging. The pitch offered little help for bowlers, and runs flowed freely in the match. Still, EDR’s middle order, led by Anuj Rawat, brought the chase easily and won the match.

ODW got off to a dream start with captain Priyansh Arya leading the way. He scored a brilliant 111 off 56 balls, hitting 7 fours and 9 sixes. Karan Garg scored quick runs 43 of 24 balls, while Keshav Dabas and Harsh Tyagi added useful late runs. Even though wickets fell in the last few overs, ODW still managed a massive 231/7.

For EDR, Rounak Waghela was the pick of the bowlers with 2/34 from 3 overs. Rohit Yadav and Akhil Chaudhary also took important wickets. The chase didn’t start well for EDR, as they lost Sujal Singh and Hardik Sharma in the first two overs. But opener Arpit Rana kept his cool and counterattacked, scoring 79 off 45 balls with 8 fours and 4 sixes. Then came the big show from captain Anuj Rawat, who tore into the bowling with 84 off just 35 balls, smashing 9 sixes.

In the end, Mayank Rawat’s unbeaten 32 off 12 balls made sure there were no last-minute nerves. EDR crossed the line in 19.2 overs, capping off one of the most thrilling run chases of the DPL 2025 season.

The 12th game of the Delhi Premier League 2025 turned into a run-fest after East Delhi Riders completed a miraculous chase and defeated Outer Delhi Warriors by 5 wickets at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Bowling first, ODW set a target of 231/7 in 20 overs, which included Priyansh Arya's 101 off 48 balls. But EDR went about their business in style, stealing the target in only 19.2 overs and creating history. Below are the main reasons that contributed to the loss of the Outer Delhi Warriors:

1. Unable to Defend the Mammoth Total

ODW’s bowling lacked the edge with no bite despite setting a huge target of 232. Their fast bowlers missed yorkers regularly, rarely mixing up their deliveries, and their well-behaved batsmen scored freely. And not having wickets in the middle overs, the Riders were never on the backside of the required rate.

2. Explosive Knock by Rawat

Anuj Rawat was brilliant, crushing 84 off 35 balls with 9 sixes. From the very beginning, Rawat was aggressive and led to the dismantling of ODW’s bowling plans, besides shifting the entire energy to EDR. Rawat did not allow the bowlers to settle as he aimed for both speed and spin.

3. Mayank Rawat’s Brutal Finishing

During the last overs while the game was still close, Mayank Rawat played a blustery unbeaten 32 off 11 balls. His perfect ball-striking was against death bowlers, which ensured that EDR clinched the chase with 4 balls to spare; hence, ODW was completely out of the game.

The former side, in the first three games, faced a couple of wins with a net run rate of -0.138, while Outer Delhi are in the fourth position with one solitary win in three fixtures.

East Delhi captain, Anuj Rawat, won the toss and decided to bowl first on a surface which was expected to get better under lights in the second innings. The batting side lost their opener, Sanat Sangwan, on the last ball of the opening over for 10 runs in five balls. However, Priyansh Arya was in a different mood.

The southpaw carried the responsibility of the batting side. Karan Garg, at number three, drilled 43 runs in 24 balls at a strike rate of around 180. But Arya continued his brutal hitting around the park as the opposition bowlers didn’t have many plans to stop the fiery batting.

The DPL event has shared a video showing the left-handed batter was seen to tackle the ball into the leg side for a single to complete his century. He raised his bat to the crowd, who stood on their feet and applauded the fine knock. Arya smacked 111 runs in 56 deliveries at a strike rate of 198.21, thanks to seven boundaries and nine sixes.

The 23-year-old featured for the Punjab Kings during the IPL 2025 and smashed 475 runs in 17 innings at an average of just under 28 and a strike rate of nearly 180 with two fifties and one century at the best score of 103 runs. Overall, in T20s, the Delhi batter has cracked 1048 runs in 35 innings at an average of 30.82 with a strike rate of 172.08.

Thanks to his knock, Outer Delhi Warriors posted 231/7 in their allotted 20 overs as Akhil Chaudhry ended with damaging figures of 1/63 in four overs. In reply, East Delhi was in a good situation of 161/3 as Rawat was on 74 runs in just 28 balls, smashing eight sixes and a couple of boundaries.
