An Uber driver in Adelaide recently had a once-in-a-lifetime experience when three Indian cricketers unexpectedly became his passengers. While the Indian team was in the city for the second ODI against Australia, the driver found himself giving a ride to none other than Prasidh Krishna, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel.

The moment left the driver stunned and thrilled, as he realized he was sharing his cab with international cricket stars. He couldn’t help but express his excitement, later sharing the memorable experience on social media.

Fans too were quick to react, praising the players for their down-to-earth attitude and humility. Encounters like these highlight how approachable and grounded Indian cricketers remain, even while representing the nation on global tours.

Uber Driver’s Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience With Indian Players:

A dashcam video from the driver’s car showed him waiting for his next passengers, unaware of the surprise ahead. Moments later, Prasidh Krishna entered and took the front seat, while Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel settled in the back, leaving the driver visibly stunned by the unexpected celebrity encounter.

The clip of the unexpected moment quickly went viral on social media, delighting cricket fans everywhere. Viewers found humor in the driver’s stunned silence as he realized his passengers were Indian cricketers. Many said his reaction was completely natural, while others playfully imagined what they might have said if they were in his place during such a surprising encounter.

The viral clip captures the players and the driver arriving at their destination, exchanging brief pleasantries before parting ways. The driver, who appeared to recognize the cricketers after a second glance, maintained professionalism throughout the journey, choosing not to disturb them despite clearly realizing he had famous passengers in his car.

Indian Trio Aim to Make Their Mark:

Prasidh Krishna, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel, who have previously played together for the Rajasthan Royals, are part of India’s current squad in Australia for the ongoing ODI series. However, the trio has yet to feature in the playing XI for the first two matches. India, meanwhile, finds itself trailing 0-2 in the three-match series after suffering consecutive defeats in Adelaide.

India will look to salvage pride as the final ODI moves to the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground. With the series already decided, players like Prasidh Krishna, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, and Kuldeep Yadav may get a chance to showcase their skills and gain valuable experience in Australian conditions.

After a great run in T20Is and Tests, Team India will try to keep their good form in ODIs when they face Australia in a three-match series down under. The first ODI will be played in Perth on Sunday, October 19.

This is the first ODI series between the two teams since the 2023 World Cup, and both sides are looking ahead to the 2027 World Cup. Most of the talk before the series is about the return of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to the Indian team.

However, there is not much debate about India’s batting order. The main question is about the fast bowlers. India have to choose between Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana, and Prasidh Krishna. Since the first ODI is in Perth, India will likely play three pacers. Siraj and Arshdeep are almost sure to be picked, which leaves one spot between Harshit and Prasidh.

Here, we look at the key points that could help India decide who to pick between Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna for the first ODI against Australia.

1. Current Form

There is little difference between Harshit Rana and Prasidh Krishna in their current ODI form. Harshit made his India debut this year and was part of the 2025 Champions Trophy-winning team. Harshit has 10 wickets in five ODIs at an average of 20.70 and an economy of 5.69. Prasidh last played an ODI in the India-Australia series in 2023. However, Prasidh impressed in his last Test in England, taking eight wickets in two innings. He also has 29 wickets in 17 ODIs at an average of 25.58. Harshit played two 50-over games against Australia A for India A, taking three wickets at an average under 26. Prasidh had a better IPL 2025, with 25 wickets at an economy of 8.27, while Harshit took 15 wickets at over 10 economy.

Edge: Tie

2. Selection by Hierarchy

Close calls often depend on the pecking order. Harshit has played in the recent ODI Champions Trophy, taking four wickets in two matches at an average of 15.25 and an economy under four. Prasidh has not played an ODI in over two years. Both have limited Test experience in Australia, but Harshit has played one Test in Perth, which could help him adapt better.

Edge: Harshit Rana

3. Better Fit

India may play all three all-rounders, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Axar Patel, and Washington Sundar, at Nos. 6–8. This leaves three spots for specialist bowlers. If Kuldeep Yadav is included as a spinner, either Harshit or Prasidh may miss out. Neither is a specialist with the new ball, but Prasidh is a better death bowler. However, Harshit is a better lower-order hitter. His first-class batting average is 31.18, compared to Prasidh’s 8.91. This makes him a better fit if India plays Kuldeep and three pacers.

Edge: Harshit Rana

Conclusion

Harshit Rana’s recent selections in the ODI squad favor him over Prasidh Krishna. While Prasidh is in good form and offers versatility, Harshit’s batting ability allows India more team combinations in Perth.

Verdict: Team India should pick Harshit Rana over Prasidh Krishna for the first ODI against Australia.

A major blow for India ahead of the India vs West Indies Test series, as their star pacer Prasidh Krishna left the field with an injury threat. During Day 2 of India A vs Australia A In a second unofficial test match at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, a bouncer hit Krishna's helmet. After a while, he had to leave the field.

Against Australia A team's first innings of 420 runs, India A struggled to find their rhythm throughout the day. Krishna came to bat at number 9 after the dismissal of all-rounder Manav Suthar. India was then 127 for 7 and needed some solidarity in the middle. Krishna got some batting skills as well, so there are expectations around him.

The pacer started to bat with a cool head but decided to go big after playing a few balls. With a boundary and an over-boundary, he scored 16 off 25. At the moment when he was about to accelerate his strike rate, a bouncer from Australia A team pacer, Henry Thornton, struck the helmet of Prasidh Krishna. The team physio quickly rushed onto the field and performed a concussion test. After that, Krishna remained on the crease for a while but was not able to continue for a long time and eventually retired hurt.

BCCI can drop Prasidh Krishna from the Test squad vs West Indies

The day was already tough for the India A team, and then there was the injury threat of Prasidh Krishna. Yash Thakur has replaced him as a concussion sub, as Krishna will take no further part in the match, claimed media reports.

Ahead of the India vs West Indies two-match Test series, multiple star players are performing for India A against Australia A. Krishna was with Team India during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in England and played multiple matches as well, including the series decider game at The Oval. But overall the pacer lacked consistency. It is also being claimed that Krishna can be dropped from the India squad for the West Indies Test series.

It has been nearly a month since the end of the five-match Test series of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between India and England, where the visitors’ famous victory during the fifth fixture at the Kennington Oval in South London pushed the series to end with a 2-2 margin as the players from both camps showed extreme aggression.

On the second day of the fixture, Prasidh Krishna welcomed Joe Root with a few words from his end, as the legendary England batter didn’t take that lightly and charged at the Karnataka pacer aggressively. Root didn’t hold back in the verbal exchanges as he was a teammate of Krishan for the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

It’s a great gesture that, you know, you spend some time with each other, having fought in such a tough series. I did go and speak to most of them, and with Root as well. I asked him what happened. He said, I thought you abused me, whereas I said No. And he saidI actually wanted to get myself up and going as well, so I had to pump myself up.Krishna expressed in a video, as ESPNcricinfo revealed.

The lanky fast bowler from England has overall picked up 22 wickets in 11 Test innings at an average of 34.36 and a strike rate of 43.6, with the help of 4/62 in an innings. Team India pacer Prasidh Krishna has revealed his heated exchange with Joe Root during the fifth Test against England at the Oval in London. Krishna said that Root thought he was being abused on the field. Although Root is usually a calm player, he got angry when England tried to take the advantage from India on Day 2 of the fifth Test. During the conversation, Root reacted aggressively, and the umpires had to step in and separate them.

Krishna on Heated Moment with Joe Root

Speaking in a recent interview with ESPN Cricinfo, Prasidh Krishna talked about his heated moment with Joe Root. He said, "I don't know why Rooty reacted. I just said, 'You're looking in great shape,' and then it turned into a lot of abuse. I spoke to most of them, including Root. I asked him what happened. He said, 'I thought you abused me.' I said, 'No.' He replied, 'I just wanted to get myself going, so I had to pump myself up.'"

“That’s what I love about the sport. That’s the way I’ve always played it. To see everybody, especially a legend like him, putting it all out there and fighting for the team, is something for everyone to learn from,” Krishna added.

Krishna Praises Root and Key Performance

Although Krishna struggled in his first two Tests, he played a key role in helping India win by six runs at The Oval. He took eight wickets across two innings as India defended 373 on Day 5. Krishna also praised Root for giving his best to help his team. He said, "That's what I love about the sport. To see everyone, especially a legend like him, putting it all out there and fighting for the team, is something for everyone to learn from. Sometimes it takes more than skill; it takes mental grit to be part of that journey."

More Incidents During the Test

Root was visibly upset at something Krishna said, shouting at the seamer before the umpires warned India about their behavior.

Ben Duckett was involved in two incidents during the match. In the second, he appeared to anger Sai Sudharsan after his late dismissal. Earlier, he was heard on stump microphones telling Akash Deep, “You can’t get me out,” only to be dismissed by the pace bowler and receive an unusual send-off.

The five-Test series ended 2-2, and India and England shared the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

Prasidh Krishna quickly got back into his form after the Asia Cup 2025 snub. Today (August 21, 2025), the fast bowler claimed a brace in the first match of the day of the 2025 Maharaja Trophy T20. Krishna chose Mangalore Dragons vs Mysore Warriors as the stage to make his statement.

After a successful Indian Premier League season (IPL 2025) and an eventful Anderson-Tendulkar trophy, the pacer did not have to wait too much for his first wicket for Mysore Warriors. During the closing phase of the first innings, he struck twice to pull Mangalore Dragons' run rate behind. First, he took the wicket of Thippa Reddy, then he took dangerous-looking Shreyas Gopal, who is the captain of Mangalore.

Gopal's wicket was very crucial, as he was well settled on the wicket and about to shift gears. Krishna clean bowled Shreyas before removing Reddy from the crease. Krishna utilized his full 4-over quota to take these scalps against an economy rate of 6.20. In his spell, Prasidh offered only 25 runs to Mangalore Dragons. Krishna was the purple cap holder in the IPL 2025 season for Gujarat Titans. He won the Purple Cap in IPL 2025, finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 25 wickets in 15 matches.

Prasidh Krishna has been making headlines for months

After his successful IPL stint, he joined Team India for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. There, he played 3 out of 5 matches against England and claimed a total of 14 wickets. The tall pacer played a crucial role when the series was on the line at The Oval, which was the 5th and last match of the tour.

In that game, Krishna took a total of 8 wickets (4 wickets in the first innings and 4 more in the second innings). The combination of Krishna and Mohammed Siraj proved decisive for the match.

The Asia Cup 2025 is a unique challenge for Team India, captained by Suryakumar Yadav, and a familiar one at the same time. Following their victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, the Men in Blue are eager for their next significant trophy. With mounting tension and growing expectations, this tournament provides India a further opportunity to hone their array of strategies while fielding a few new combinations. In the UAE, with only three weeks to compete, there must be enough balance in the squad, batters and bowlers alike, to remain competitive.

The two venues, Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi) and Dubai International Stadium have pushed towards batters and pacers in the last 12 months. In 29 T20 games across three separate competitions, just 55% of wickets fell and the majority of matches resulted in high-scoring slug-fests. All the indicators suggest that bowlers will need to go hard to earn favorable outcomes and India's selection of the bowling attack will be critical. The balance between spin and pace will be critical to securing results in these run-favoured playing conditions.

With T20 format tournament, this is the best chance for India to play with five bowler balanced attack. It would be best to have at least two frontline spinners in order to ensure control of the middle overs, and two all-rounders to deepen the batting order while having at least three specialist pacers in the XI allows them to adjust to different opponents in the tournament. There are a lot of ways that India could think and strategize this to ensure that the world champs are well prepared for the Asia Cup 2025 T20 tournament, which could have seven matches in three weeks!

Arshdeep Singh

As a left-arm pacer, he has a rare ability to swing the new ball both ways, meaning he is especially dangerous against left-handers. His skills would take him into the death overs as well, and he is relentless in using a range of clever variations to deceive batters. This all-round skill gives him the ability to be effective at all stages of the T20 innings - a valuable asset to any team.

He goes into the Asia Cup 2025 after an impressive IPL 2025 season with Punjab Kings which he distinguished himself as one of the most consistent performers. In his 17 matches, he took 21 wickets at an excellent economy of 8. He showed the ability to combine control and taking wickets. Interestingly, of the 240 wickets taken by bowlers at the Abu Dhabi and Dubai venues recently, 76 were taken by left-arm seamers. That should only help his confidence for the tournament.

Prasidh Krishna

Opting for Harshit Rana over a vastly improved T20 bowler like Prasidh Krishna could prove to be a questionable decision by the Indian team management. Krishna’s Purple Cap triumph in IPL 2025, where he picked up 25 wickets, was not a fluke. Instead, it showcased the transformation in his T20 game, where he displayed control and maturity that had previously been missing. His performances underline consistency rather than being a one-off success.

The Karnataka pacer has been remarkably disciplined with his lengths, frequently targeting the full and good-length areas across 15 matches this season. At the same time, he has cleverly used the short ball as a reliable stock option to keep batters guessing. What makes him even more effective is his sharp use of pace variations, a skill he has mastered over the past four months. This evolution has made Krishna one of the most dependable fast bowlers in India’s T20 setup.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is a stands-alone player in the Indian national team when talking about match situations. His brilliance yet again shone in IPL 2025 in important moments, both bat and ball. Pandya took 14 wickets in 15 matches at 24 run average, meaning he was able to take wickets in the most important moments for his team. His dynamic game is still revolving around him being one of the best all-rounders in T20 cricket, and he continues game after game to be the most trusted.

As a bowler he understands high pressure match situations, and welcomes that responsibility of bowling in the most critical over of the match. Even when four boundaries on the trot is scored, he hurdle won't be shaken and control his mind and temperament, quickly resetting his game plan. This fearless and composed demeanor allows him to remain 'locked in' as much as he possibly can in the match scenario, and expects matters like the moment are good will, makes him an unstinting asset in India's plans ahead of important tournaments.

Varun Chakravarthy

Since his return to international cricket after a near four-year layoff, Varun's comeback has been nothing short of a fairytale, not only in terms of performance level, but also improvement in his bowling. Varun made an immediate impression by taking 14 wickets from five matches against England, followed by a further nine wickets at the Dubai International Stadium during Champions Trophy 2025. This turnaround came after having practiced his variety, something that he did not have the necessary accuracy for during the 2021 T20 World Cup in the UAE. Varun is very evidently a bowler grown.

Despite a mixed IPL 2025 season with the Kolkata Knight Riders, Varun was still able to be impactful, claiming 17 wickets in 13 matches at an economy rate of 7.6, demonstrating consistency throughout. Varun's ability to deliver for both franchise and country shows how much he has come along as a bowler, and he clearly looks to be, once again, a vital cog in India's bowling line-up in limited overs cricket.

Axar Patel

India's T20I vice-captain may not have the most dazzling numbers on paper but has an incredible knack of coming to the fore at important times which makes him indispensable. His ability to break partnerships and create breakthroughs, when the team needs them most, has invariably turned games in India's favor. He remains one of the most dependable options in that format owing to his knowledge and ability to remain composed under pressure.

Asia Cup 2025 could be the perfect tournament for Axar Patel to add to his inauspicious record in that format. The pitches in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have been particularly fruitful for left-arm spinners; in the last 29 games, there were 48 wickets taken by left-arm spinners- 60% of all spin dismissals-. However, the vast majority of these dismissals were a result of finger spinners who predominantly rely on drift rather than turn, which is Axar's biggest strength. The tournament opens up an ideal opportunity for him to enhance his record further.

Kuldeep Yadav

The dependable left-arm wrist-spinner has been an integral cog in India's bowling unit for many years, whilst continuing to provide valuable services in the T20 arena. His power of consistency and run management has proved an incredibly dependable option for the team in match defining moments, and even though conditions change, he has transitioned his game well and proved effective in all phases.

While IPL 2025 was considered a quiet season in a relative sense by his high standards, he has still managed to take 15 wickets in 14 matches. Most importantly, his economy rate of 7.07 remained impressive given that he is able to restrict batters whilst still providing necessary breakthroughs; therefore, if the ability to both control and take wickets is the desired skill, he is a huge asset leading into the Asia Cup 2025.

<![CDATA["I wouldn't say is a very talented bowler" - Bharat Arun takes dig on Team India pacer after ENG vs IND 2025 Tests]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/i-wouldn-t-say-is-a-very-talented-bowler-bharat-arun-takes-dig-on-team-india-pacer-after-eng-vs-ind-2025-tests/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/i-wouldn-t-say-is-a-very-talented-bowler-bharat-arun-takes-dig-on-team-india-pacer-after-eng-vs-ind-2025-tests/ Mon, 18 Aug 2025 22:13:25 GMT

Former India bowling coach Bharat Arun has made a bold statement about pacer Prasidh Krishna, saying he doesn’t consider him a naturally talented bowler. The ex-Kolkata Knight Riders mentor pointed out that Krishna’s inconsistent lengths during the England tour could have been rectified earlier, particularly after his struggles in the series opener at Leeds. However, the Karnataka speedster showed improvement in the second Test at Edgbaston, where he managed to find better rhythm.

Arun also highlighted India’s challenge of having an excess of bowling options, which, he felt, created selection dilemmas and impacted players’ confidence. Krishna, who was dropped for the third and fourth Tests, returned to the side for the 5th Test which was played at The Oval. Krishna seized that opportunity to bowl brilliantly, claiming match figures of 8/188 and doing a crucial job in helping India to a dramatic victory of just 6 runs over England.

“Let's take Prasidh as an example. In the first Test against England, everybody felt that he bowled too short, and those were not the lengths to be bowled. In the next Test in the second innings, he made the adjustment. He came back to bowling good lengths, the right lengths in England, and when he realised that he was dropped from the next match. In all fairness, I can understand he was dropped because Bumrah came in the next game. When Anshul Kamboj flies from India, and when you already have somebody who has played two Test matches, who is in England with the team, and who is capable of bowling 140 clicks, there was enough time for you to work on him and get his lengths right in England. Prasidh Krishna was, I wouldn’t say, he is a very talented bowler. Somebody who can bowl 140 clicks consistently is a talent. The choice of length was wrong, which could have been worked on," Bharat Arun said.

The biggest problem is the problem of too many in our country: Bharat Arun

Bharat Arun believes that the intense competition in Indian cricket often causes fast bowlers to lose focus, prioritising results over the process. He explained that the pressure to perform can affect a bowler’s mindset, leading to desperation when outcomes don’t go their way. Arun, who had two stints as India’s bowling coach—first from 2014 to 2016 and then from 2017 to 2021, played a pivotal role in transforming India’s pace attack. Under his guidance, the fast-bowling unit reached new heights, consistently challenging top teams both at home and overseas.

"The biggest problem is the problem of too many in our country, whereas in countries such as Australia and New Zealand, there are fewer cricketers who play the sport. So when you identify someone, you are given all the patience, you are given all the backing, so that they flower and blossom into a good player. But in India, we expect them to be ready-made.Somebody else is also waiting. The minute you fail, it works on their mind. When the next match more than focusing on the process their focus is more on the outcome. When the focus is on the outcome, you tend to get desperate," he added

<![CDATA[Three Indian potential Test cricketers who deserve full support in this transition phase]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/three-indian-potential-test-cricketers-who-deserve-full-support-in-this-transition-phase/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/three-indian-potential-test-cricketers-who-deserve-full-support-in-this-transition-phase/ Tue, 12 Aug 2025 18:36:25 GMT

India’s Test team is currently navigating a significant phase of change. The departure of senior figures such as Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravichandran Ashwin has left notable gaps in the lineup. These retirements mark the end of an era for the side.

With these experienced players no longer in the mix, the team faces the challenge of reshaping its core. New and emerging talents are being given opportunities to step up, but filling the shoes of such legends is no easy task. Leadership, stability, and consistent performances will be key in the coming years.

This period represents both a challenge and an opportunity for Indian cricket. While the team must adapt to life without its long-time stalwarts, it also allows for the development of a fresh group of match-winners. The transition phase will test the squad’s depth and resilience in the longest format.

Team India Needs to Fill Some Blanks:

The rise of promising talents like Washington Sundar and Yashasvi Jaiswal has given India a boost during this transition phase. Their readiness for the longest format has eased some pressure, but gaps still remain, particularly in the batting lineup and pace attack.

Given this situation, Gautam Gambhir and his support staff must focus on selecting the right players to nurture. Backing them consistently and providing enough opportunities will be crucial for these cricketers to prove themselves at the highest level. A steady run in the side will help build confidence, experience, and the stability India needs as it rebuilds for future Test challenges.

Team India Should Support Some Potential Players:

With India’s Test side in a rebuilding phase, certain players deserve consistent support to help them settle and perform. Providing them with time and opportunities will allow their talent to flourish and contribute to the team’s stability. Here are three such cricketers who should be backed strongly during this transition period.

 • Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna has faced criticism for his Test performances, with an economy rate nearing five and a bowling average close to 35. These figures highlight the challenges he has encountered so far, but with the right backing and guidance, he still has the potential to improve and become a more effective contributor to India’s bowling attack.

Prasidh Krishna is still in the early stages of his Test career, with only six matches under his belt. At 29, he entered the international arena with limited first-class experience and has also battled multiple serious injuries. With time and consistent opportunities, he has the ability to develop into one of India’s finest fast bowlers.

He belongs to a rare group of Indian pacers who possess world-class potential. In the recent Test series against England, he recorded the highest average of induced false shots, even surpassing Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. His steady growth in different aspects of bowling makes it crucial for the team management to give him full support and the confidence to perform at the highest level.

 • Sai Sudarshan

Sai Sudharsan, who made his Test debut in the recent series against England, scored one half-century in six innings. While he couldn’t fully capitalise on his opportunities, he displayed flashes of his talent and the promise he holds for the future. His performances hinted at the composure and skill needed at the highest level.

A stylish left-hander with a solid technique, Sai is comfortable facing both pace and spin. His experience of producing quality innings in testing domestic conditions makes him a strong contender for the challenging No. 3 spot in Test cricket. With patience and consistent backing, he has the potential to become a dependable pillar in India’s batting lineup.

 • Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav boasts an impressive Test record, yet his place in the Indian XI has often been uncertain. The team’s focus on strengthening batting depth has limited his opportunities, preventing him from becoming a regular starter despite his proven skills and ability to make a difference with the ball in longer formats.

Kuldeep Yadav did not feature at all during the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, even on surfaces that seemed ideal for his style. As a left-arm wrist-spinner, he has delivered consistently in Tests and has the skill set to win matches in diverse conditions. With proper support from the management, he could establish himself as a game-changer.

After Ashwin’s retirement, Kuldeep was tipped to take on a bigger role in the side. While Washington Sundar’s rise has slightly reduced that expectation, the 30-year-old still brings immense value. If given more responsibility and a consistent run, he has the potential to be one of India’s leading bowling options in the longest format.

India's exhilarating six-run win over England in the fifth and concluding Test at The Oval has created a considerable shake-up in the ICC Men's Test Player Rankings, with Indian pace pair Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna achieving career-best rankings.

Siraj, Player of the Match for winning spells in both innings, climbed twelve places to the 15th ranking in the ICC Test Bowler Rankings. The right-arm quick is now on a career-high 674 rating points, after his brilliant bowling was a vital element in India's series-clinching win.

Joining him in the rankings surge is Prasidh Krishna, whose eight wickets at The Oval lifted him 25 places to 59th, also a personal best. Krishna now holds 368 rating points, as he continues to establish himself in the longer format.

England's fast bowling unit also saw a boost despite the narrow defeat. Gus Atkinson, one of the breakout stars of the summer, has broken into the top 10 Test bowlers for the first time, thanks to his eight-wicket haul. Josh Tongue, another standout performer, has risen 14 places to 46th in the latest update.

On the batting front, Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal continues his meteoric rise. Fresh off a century in The Oval Test, Jaiswal has climbed three positions to break into the top five Test batters, now sitting on 792 rating points. England's Joe Root and Harry Brook remain locked in at the top two spots.

Elsewhere in the Test arena, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has entered the top 10 Test batters following his consistency in the Zimbabwe series, moving up four places. Teammate Matt Henry is reaping the rewards of his red-ball resurgence, climbing to 4th among Test bowlers with a career-best 817 rating points.

T20I Movement: Tim David, Saim Ayub, and Holder Climb

In the T20I rankings, Australia’s Tim David surged two places to 16th in the Men’s T20I Batting Rankings after a powerful century against the West Indies. Pakistan’s Saim Ayub also made a big leap, climbing 25 places to 37th following his dazzling knocks in the USA leg of the West Indies tour.

West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder has made a notable move in the bowling department, rising 23 places to joint-32nd alongside South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj. Holder's consistency in picking up key wickets has made him the highest wicket-taker for his side in the shortest format.

With the 2025–27 ICC World Test Championship cycle gathering pace and planning and preparation ramping up for next year’s T20 World Cup, these moves come at a busy time in international cricket. As the red-ball and white-ball calendars continue to overlap, players making a mark in multiple formats are now being compensated accordingly, according to the latest ICC updates.
