Former Indian cricketer praises 14-year-old prodigy with a Bollywood tune live on air  In an electrifying IPL 2025 fixture between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 24, the spotlight wasn’t just on the cricket—it was also on the commentary box. Former Indian player and commentator Suresh Raina provided a musical flavor to the evening, singing a Bollywood song to young RR opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The incident came after the 14-year-old made a splash with his aggressive stroke play. Raina sang, "Chhota bacha jaan ke, na koi aankh dikhana re, Dubi dubi dab dab," praising the youngster's bravery on the big stage.

RR, in pursuit of a steep 206, made a blistering beginning courtesy of their young opening pair—Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The teenager, confident to the core, boldly tackled RCB's seasoned bowling attack. In a performance to remember, he smashed two huge sixes off veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and sprinted to 16 off 12 deliveries before his brief but explosive stay at the crease came to an end.

Although Suryavanshi did not bat for long, his composure and bold intent impressed all. He had already made headlines in his first match against Lucknow Super Giants this season, scoring 34 off only 20 balls. With such promising innings at the beginning of the tournament, the young sensation has already emerged as one of the most thrilling discoveries of IPL 2025.

"He is never scared": Raina Praises Teen Sensation's Fearless Approach

In commentary, Raina could not help but express his admiration. "He's just 14, but the maturity, awareness, and body language he shows are that of a seasoned player. He's never scared," said the former India legend.

Suryavanshi, selected for ₹1.1 crore in the mega auction of the IPL 2025, is taking up huge shoes left by Sanju Samson. By virtue of consistent good showings in back-to-back performances, the Royals will be seeking their young opening batsman to repeat his magic when the Gujarat Titans play on April 28.

During the IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), Suyash Sharma's unusual fielding methods caught the attention of many RCB fans. In trying to field the ball, Sharma picked it up with his cap, which in usual circumstances would incur a penalty of five runs for the batting side. My contention is RCB was able to escape this penalty because the umpires had already called the ball dead, which made the action non-offending.

The case in question suggests that the ball was dead on the ninth over. Sharma was fielding as short third man, and by the looks of it, he was attempting to cap the ball.
Capping the ball or picking it up with a cap is a violation of law 28.2.1.2 and will not only result in monetary punishment, but the ball will be considered dead, and a five-run gift will be given to the batting team. The difference here is the umpires had already signaled for a dead ball; therefore, there was no punishment.

The on-field umpires talked with the third umpire to verify the events of the game. After the review, there were no penalties, so the game could go on without interruptions.

RCB Clinches First Home Victory in IPL 2025

Not taking the drama into consideration, RCB triumphed at home for the first time this season as they managed to defeat RR by 11 runs at their home ground, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Kohli continued his good form by scoring 70 runs off 42 balls, while Padikkal scored a rapid 50 runs off just 27, which helped RCB set a defendable total of 205/5.

Sportsbetting.ag wrapped up the RR innings at 194 and stood at 9 in their 20 overs.
The penultimate over was bowled by Josh Hazlewood, who put the brakes on the RR innings when they looked to sail to victory, giving away only one run and taking a stunning two wickets, thus winning the match for RCB.

Having won this match, RCB stood at third position in the IPL 2025 standings after this match, which showcased a stark improvement in their performance at home and hopeful RCB fans for the playoffs.

In match 42 of IPL 2025 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, April 24, the Rajasthan Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The contest was destined to be high-scoring, and it was Virat Kohli who brought his own magic to the venue. Kohli was home and looked every bit in control from the word go as he guided the Royal Challengers Bengaluru innings with his trademark strokeplay and composure, to the joyous sound of the packed stadium.

In the match, Kohli achieved an extraordinary milestone in only his 105th T20 innings by becoming the first-ever player to score more than 3,500 runs at a single venue. Kohli reached the landmark at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, where he has created countless memories whilst playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. His familiarity with the conditions was demonstrated as he put in another match-winning performance and continued the run with a big score.

By this accomplishment, Kohli is now in an exclusive group of only six players to register over 3,000 runs at just one ground in T20s. The remaining members of this illustrious club account include Mushfiqur Rahim, James Vince, Alex Hales, Tamim Iqbal, and Mahmudullah. Kohli's success and resilience at Chinnaswamy now prove what he left behind in T20 cricket. Kohli has been the foundation of the RCB franchise since the inception of the IPL, and his performance served as a timely reminder of his supremacy and unparalleled relationship with the Bengaluru support.

Kohli Breaks Record as RCB Post 205 Against RR in Bengaluru

Virat Kohli played another great knock, scoring 70 runs from just 42 balls. His innings scored with eight fours and two sixes. He played carefully for a century but got out in the 16th over, trying to play a lofted shot against Jofra Archer. Nitish Rana took a simple catch at cover. This was the first time Archer managed to dismiss Kohli in T20 cricket.

Thanks to Kohli’s effort and a half-century from Devdutt Padikkal, RCB finished with a strong total of 205/5 in their 20 overs. Rajasthan also gave away 16 extras, which didn’t help their cause.

After that, Royal Challengers Bangalore won a close match against Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Josh Hazlewood was the star for Bangalore, taking 4 important wickets and helping his team get their sixth win of the season.

The 42nd match of IPL 2025 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In this match, Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs and registered a spectacular victory and got their sixth win this season. Bangalore had set a target of 206 runs in this match in front of Rajasthan Royals. In response, Rajasthan Royals could only score 194 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

Talking about this match, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Rajat Patidar, who is looking for his first win at home, lost the toss again today and the team had to bat first.
Royal Challengers Bangalore team had a great start and the pair of openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli made a brilliant partnership of 61 runs in 40 balls in which Phil Salt scored 26 runs and Kohli scored 28 runs.

After Salt was out, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal made a great partnership and added 95 runs in 51 balls. Devdutt Padikkal scored 50 runs in 27 balls in this match, which included four fours and three sixes. So Virat Kohli played an innings of 70 runs with the help of 8 fours and two sixes in 42 balls.
At the same time, Tim David scored 23 runs in 15 balls and Jitesh Sharma scored 20 runs in 10 balls. In this match, Sandeep Sharma took two wickets for 45 runs in four overs from the Rajasthan Royals team. Apart from this, Jofra Archer and Hasaranga took one wicket each.

Rajasthan Royals team scattered once again in run chase

Chasing the target of 206 runs, the team of Ataria Rajasthan Royals had a great start. Rajasthan Royals team openers Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal added 52 runs in just 4.2 overs. Although Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed him, Yashasvi Jaiswal was scoring runs. Jaiswal played an innings of 49 runs in 19 balls. He was dismissed by Hazelwood.

At one point, the score of the Rajasthan Royals team was 110 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 9 overs. As soon as Riyan Parag is out, the match turns completely. Riyan Parag played an innings of 22 runs in 10 balls in this match. Nitish Rana scored 28 runs in 22 balls, and Dhruv Jurel scored 47 runs in 34 balls. As long as Jurel was batting, victory looked very easy. But as soon as he was out, the match turned completely, and the Bangalore team won the match by 11 runs. Hazlewood was awarded Player of the Match for taking four wickets for 34 runs in four overs.

RCB scored a challenging target of 205, a score that, even if on a track, would always be a tough chase in IPL 2025 Match 42 on April 24 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. In the end, it was Rajasthan Royals (RR) who lost to RCB by 11 runs, finishing up at 194/9 in 20 overs with a valiant effort.

RR struggled with their chase after losing their premier batsman early in the innings, which left them in a precarious position, making recovery even more difficult. RCB's bowling attack, led by Josh Hazlewood with a match-winning spell of 4/33, dismantled RR's top order and bottom order at the most opportune moments. RCB's batsmen, led by Virat Kohli's sensational 70 off 42 balls and supported by Devdutt Padikkal's 50 off 27 balls, bludgeoned the scoreboard to build the amazing score. RR struggled out of the blocks during the chase, and Hazlewood's aggressive spells, with support from Krunal Pandya (2/31) and Yash Dayal (1/33), were enough to stop RR from making a comeback to line RCB's win up in this brilliant game.

1. Inconsistent Middle-Order Performance

The Rajasthan Royals started strong courtesy of Yashasvi Jaiswal's blistering 49 runs off 19 balls, followed by Dhruv Jurel's methodical 47 off 34. After Jurel's dismissal, the middle order's collapse marked a major turning point in the game. After Jurel, no other batter went on to make 30 runs, and there were vital partnerships that simply were missing in the middle overs. The halting of momentum ultimately came back to haunt RR as the required run rate kept edging up. The lower-order batters then had too much to do in the death overs to achieve the 205-run target and fell short by 11 runs.

2. Josh Hazlewood's Match-Winning Spell

Josh Hazlewood (RCB) created magic with his performance as a pacer with 4 wickets for 33 runs in 4 overs. His disciplined line and length, and especially hard lengths, successfully dismantled the batting core of the Rajasthan Royals. He made key breaks at critical times to the developing partnerships of RR, breaking partnerships with set batters. Hazlewood was effective in taking wickets at the top and lower-order wickets so that RR could not build any momentum, which caused the game to be handed over directly to RCB.

3. Lack of Bowling Containment Early On

The Royals' bowling unit did not put the Royals under pressure early in the game. Virat Kohli's classy 70 (42) and Devdutt Padikkal's quickfire 50 (27) laid the foundations of a solid platform for the RCB. Sandeep Sharma and Jofra Archer were both expensive in the powerplay and kept giving bang-bang boundaries. The Royals couldn't stem the flow of runs up front, and as a result, this allowed RCB to post a formidable total of 205—a total that was always going to be difficult to chase on the Chinnaswamy pitch.

From power-hitting to dramatic wickets, the match had all the elements of a classic IPL clash, keeping the crowd thoroughly entertained until the final ball.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Innings

RCB set the tone with a formidable total of 205/5 in their 20 overs.  Virat Kohli had an excellent innings, scoring 70 runs from 42 balls, and struck a good balance between elegance and aggression. Devdutt Padikkal contributed a fine innings of 50 runs from 27 balls, and Phil Salt continued at 26 runs from 23. RCB had been losing wickets regularly, but their run rate was always very healthy. RR's bowlers Sandeep Sharma (2/45), Wanindu Hasaranga (1/30), and Jofra Archer (1/33) were all unable to make stops at the right time!

Rajasthan Royals Innings

While chasing 206, RR were able to conjure up a defensive effort to score 194/9! Yashasvi Jaiswal played a quick innings of 49 runs from 19 deliveries to set them off well. Dhruv Jurel contributed with 47 runs from 24 balls, and Nitish Rana added 28 runs from 34 balls. However, RR's middle order was unable to respond again and submitted in the final overs to RCB. RCB's bowling attack of Josh Hazlewood (4/33), Krunal Pandya (2/31), and Yash Dayal (1/33) sealed the match by containing 11 runs from victory!

He continued to mention his wonderful experience as part of teams like Sydney Sixers, Chennai Super Kings, RCB, and Australia. He noted the big bounce at Chinnaswamy and how the batsman scored 205 on a wicket that was defendable.

Rajat Patidar (RCB Captain): Patidar said that the bowlers showed courage to win after playing on an unexpected wicket. He said while RR had great batting, it was important to take wickets because this meant RCB could control the game, which turned out to be crucial towards the end.

Virat Kohli (RCB): Kohli said he was happy with the application of the guys and that they scored 205 on what he described as a tough pitch, compounded by the dew in the second inning. Riyan Parag (RR Captain): Parag said the RR bowling was decent, but the batting was poor, especially against spinners, costing them the game. He stated intent was important, and learning from the mistakes made in the game was necessary, and pledged that in their future games, RR would play for pride and to keep the fans happy.

Devdutt Padikkal was leading Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) with his fluent 50 but ended in a dramatic way. Padikkal misjudged Sandeep Sharma's slower ball and couldn't get enough wood on the ball, which resulted in a caught out. The scoreboard will show only the bowler and fielder's names, but it will not tell how Rana was able to complete the whole process.

RCB started the game 42 of the IPL 2025 with a 61-run first wicket stand against Rajasthan Royals (RR), before the departure of Phil Salt with an individual score of 26. Virat Kohli was driving his innings swiftly and got himself to 70 runs after.

Kohli's innings was firstly well supported by Salt and then Devdutt Padikkal. The former RCB skipper was gone for a well-taken catch by Nitish Rana, bowled by Jofra Archer. Rana again appeared to save his team, Rajasthan Royals, when he positioned himself for Padikkal's wicket.

Devdutt Padikkal made his way to the dugout in a dramatic manner

On the first ball of the 17th over, Sandeep Sharma took all the pace from the ball and angled well across the left-handed batter. Devdutt just completed his 50 and was ready to hoist the ball over the cover, but Sharma's delivery could not make this happen. The RCB batter was waiting deep in the crease and mistimed the ball.

Watch the catch here:

The ball was well powered in the air, and Rana was right in line, but he lost it in the lights a bit and ended up wobbling it out. The RR fielder grabbed the ball after juggling multiple times.

In a viral moment that has sparked a frenzy on social media, content creator Mr Beast - who has an astonishing 387 million subscribers on YouTube - publicly invited Virat Kohli for a collaboration. On April 23, 2025, MrBeast - real name Jimmy Donaldson - took to X to say, “@imVkohli Hey! Anyway I could get you in a video? 👀,” hitting the internet at the height of the IPL 2025 season to widespread delight from fans. The posted tweet, which has already racked up close to 600,000 views, represents a massive amount of hype for what could happen if they were to collaborate.

Kohli has 271 million followers on Instagram, making him one of the most followed athletes in the world and a perfect target for MrBeast's signature high-energy, celebrity collaboration-heavy videos. MrBeast has collaborated with several major names, from Cristiano Ronaldo to Tom Brady, along with Indian creator CarryMinati, in videos that have produced viral moments and blur the lines between sport, entertainment, and the internet. This isn't the first time that MrBeast made it known he was interested in working with Kohli, having wanted to work with the cricketer for a while, which he stated in a discussion with Ranveer Allahbadia on The Ranveer Show in November 2024, not only because of the request from his fans, but also due to Kohli's sheer popularity in India.

As of the time of this collaboration proposal from MrBeast, Kohli is currently killing it during IPL 2025 with 392 runs scored in nine matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and his clout is only growing. A MrBeast collaboration would combine cricket and digital, most likely appealing Kohli's millions of cricket and sports fans and introducing what has historically been traditional sport to fans of the latest content, and potentially a new audience. Fans are speculating about what the video might look like in either a cricket challenge, a charity, or even a high-stakes competition, consistent with MrBeast's content style. Vida confirms that the internet is abuzz with excitement, and some are calling it a "dream collab."

What Could This Collab Look Like?

The collaboration possibilities for MrBeast and Kohli are limitless. Typical MrBeast videos feature crazy, over-the-top challenges such as survival in insane conditions or enormous giveaways. Kohli's cricketing skill and jock appeal could be included in the traditional MrBeast tone of video that is entertaining for everyone across the globe. For example, imagine Kohli going up against his regular competition in an obstacle course challenge with a cricket theme or perhaps Kohli advising MrBeast's crew on how to play and 'survive' a game against a surprise opposition. The merging of Kohli's keen athleticism and Mr. Beast's flamboyant entertainment style could open up endless opportunities for great content.

There is also the potential social and cultural impact this collaboration might have, bringing together the traditional cricket fanbase and the young, diverse YouTube audience. MrBeast’s recent visit to India for the promotion of his Feastables brand and the timeline of Kohli’s ambitions for his One8 lifestyle brand might align. As fans await anxiously for Kohli to respond to the video, one thing is for sure: if this happens, it will be a watershed moment in sports crossover and for the future of the internet.
