Rohit Sharma has always been a jolly member off the field. Recently, after taking his retirement from the longest format of the game before the five-match Test series in England, he turned up at the Kennington Oval during the fifth and final fixture of the seven-week campaign as he supported the young side under Shubman Gill’s captaincy, taking charge.

A recent video has gone viral where Rohit has been seen to execute the same dance moves from the practice sessions on the floor for his wife, Ritika Sajdesh’s brother’s wedding. The choreographer for the program is showing them all the stances and moves during practice as the Nagpur-born executes the same on the floor during the wedding ceremony.

A few days ago, the former Indian captain was seen driving his new Lamborghini car on the Mumbai roads after it was delivered. It was another addition to his collection of cars after he gifted his last blue Lamborghini to a fan in the fantasy program during the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Rohit Sharma has recently found himself in the news after the reports claimed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors will have an honest conversation with him and Virat Kohli regarding their future in the 50-over format. Both of them took their retirements from the shortest format after the end of the last T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the United States of America.

Having already taken retirement from red-ball cricket, questions have been raised on whether they would be able to play the ODI format. India has a three-match ODI series against Australia down under in November, which could prove to be an acid Test for the duo to be in the side.

It has also been reported that the board wants them to feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 to be in rhythm before the 50-over home series against South Africa and New Zealand. Rohit, the 38-year-old, has smashed a total of 11168 runs in 265 ODI innings at an average of 48.76 and a strike rate of 92.80 with 32 centuries and 58 half-centuries at the best score of 264 runs against Sri Lanka.

The former Indian captain of the T20Is and Tests, Rohit Sharma’s wife Ritika Sajdesh, has shared an emotional story on Instagram regarding the decision from the Supreme Court on the stray dogs. They were ordered to remove all the dogs from the roads of the Delhi-NCR. The civic bodies of Gurugram, Noida, and Ghaziabad have already begun to remove them from localities and houses.

Rohit Sharma's wife has raised her voice on the matter and reckoned that the animal is a heartbeat, and not a menace, as they call them. The mayor of Delhi, Iqbal Singh, however, backed the Supreme Court order, highlighting that the people of Delhi had been facing problems almost regularly.

“They call it a menace. We call it a heartbeat. Today, the Supreme Court says- take every stray dog off the streets of Delhi-NCR and lock them away. No sunlight. No freedom. No familiar faces greet every morning. But these are not just ‘stray dogs.’ They are the ones who wait outside your tea stall for a biscuit. They are the silent night guards for shopkeepers.” Rohit Sharma’s wife wrote on Instagram story.

Rohit Sharma, who has already retired from the T20Is and Tests just before the start of the recently concluded five-match Test series against England, is reportedly on the verge of calling it a day from the 50-over format for the Blue Brigade. His wife, however, has addressed a serious issue on the matter.

“They are the tails wagging when the children return from school. They are the warmth in a cold, uncaring city. Yes, there are problems- bites, safety concerns- but caging an entire community of animals is not a solution, it’s an erasure. The real fix? Large-scale sterilization programs, regular vaccination drives, community feeding zones, and adoption campaigns.” Sajdesh wrote.

“Not punishment. Not imprisonment. A society that can’t protect its voiceless is a society losing its soul. Today it’s the dogs. Tomorrow, who will it be? Raise your voice. Because they don’t have one.” Rohit Sharma’s wife shared on her Instagram story.

As India and England battle across a gripping five-match Test series for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, former India Test captain Rohit Sharma is currently enjoying a break from international cricket. Having stepped away from the longest format ahead of the series, Rohit has been spotted vacationing in Italy, with fans clicking pictures of the veteran batter in the streets of Milan. The 38-year-old also posted on his social media, sharing glimpses of the iconic Duomo di Milano, suggesting he's enjoying his downtime before returning to ODI action.

Rohit, who now exclusively plays One-Day Internationals for India, has no immediate playing duties while the Test squad faces England.
His next assignment is in August when India travels to Bangladesh for a three-match ODI series, beginning on August 17. Until then, the former skipper has the opportunity to rest and recharge while keeping a close eye on how his successor handles the rigors of leadership in red-ball cricket.

Rohit Sharma was also seen soaking in the culture and sights of Italy with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, and daughter, Samaira. Prior to this, he was spotted in Abu Dhabi following the conclusion of his IPL 2025 campaign. Now, enjoying some well-earned downtime, Rohit appears to be relishing his life off the field, with multiple fan encounters in Italy also making the rounds online.

Rohit Reflects on Hardik’s Heroics and Upcoming Return

While Rohit is off duty for now, he recently opened up about India's triumphant T20 World Cup 2024 campaign, particularly praising Hardik Pandya’s memorable final over. Speaking on Star Sports, Rohit said, “This was an emotional moment. Hardik is my man; he did the job for me and the team; otherwise, we would've been sitting without anything in our hands.” Pandya had defended 16 runs in the last over and dismissed David Miller, sealing the long-awaited title for India under Rohit’s leadership.

Rohit Sharma took retirement from T20I and Test cricket, and for now, he's only available for One Day International matches. India is in England for the 5-match Test series, and Rohit now enjoys his free time with family after the conclusion of IPL 2025.

In a recent fun conversation with Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra on the YouTube show “Who’s The Boss?” During this conversation, Rohit revealed some facts about his personal life that, so far, were not in the public domain.

The captain of Team India's ODI format revealed how his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, always tries to stand by his side and support him during the matches. Whenever the right-handed batter was on the ground for Team India or Mumbai Indians, the camera caught Ritika on the stand. During the conversation with the Singh couple, Rohit couldn't hold back his amusement at how Ritika managed to sit in one place throughout the match. The 38-year-old opener said,

She's my lucky charm: Rohit Sharma

"I asked Ritika so many times, how do you manage this because it's incredibly tough to sit like that through the entire match with that finger?. She's deeply involved in my game, she wants me to do well, she's my lucky charm, and she's my biggest supporter."

In the same episode, Sharma revealed how he proposed to Ritika Sajdeh. According to Rohit, his way to propose to her was pretty romantic. He took Ritika to the ground where he used to play cricket in his childhood days. After finishing the food Ritika brought from her home, Rohit told her that they now have some ice cream. It was the masterstroke from Sharma. They took the car and drove a long way. By the time it was dark. And Ritika was clueless. She even asked Rohit about the ice cream. The plan was already set. Rohit parked the car in the middle of the ground and then proposed to his lady love. Sharma's friends were there to capture the once-in-a-lifetime moment.

Captain of Team India ODI setup Rohit Sharma finally revealed how he proposed to Ritika Sajdeh, his wife. During a conversation with Harbhajan Singh and his wife, Geeta Basra Singh, on the YouTube channel 'Who’s The Boss?', Sharma recalled the moment when he proposed to Ritika.

Rohit went on his knees to propose Ritika

"My proposal was quite romantic. I took her to the place where I started playing cricket. We were here only (somewhere along Marine Drive, apparently). She had brought food from home. We ate it. So, I was just sitting. Then I told her, Let’s go out to eat ice cream; I’m bored. Then we took the car out, and we left. We left from Marine Drive and crossed Haji Ali, Worli. So, she asked, Where is the ice cream shop? She does not know anything after Bandra. I told her there's a good one in Borivali, where I live. You’ve never come, so let me show you," Rohit said this during the YouTube conversation.

"It was a ground, and it was pitch dark, and she didn’t realize it was a ground. Then I had already told my friend to set up something there at the ground and just be there to capture the moment. We parked the car. Then I went on my knees in the middle of the pitch. Then, I proposed to her."

In an emotional moment that was touching hearts throughout the world of cricket, Indian cricket superstar Rohit Sharma's wife, Ritika Sajdeh, was moved to tears during the unveiling of a stand of a stadium dedicated to her husband's name. The ceremony to honor the great contribution of Rohit to Indian cricket became all the more special with Ritika's evident pride and emotional response.

When Rohit went on stage to dedicate the "Rohit Sharma Stand," he invited his family along with him—turning the event into a highly personal one. Ritika, who has been accompanying him through each and every high and low of his life, fought hard to contain her tears as fans cheered the Indian captain.
Her feelings expressed not only happiness but also long years of sacrifice, patience, and blind support behind Rohit's success saga.

The stand naming marks a major milestone in Rohit's cricket life. From his humble beginnings playing domestic cricket to becoming one of India's most successful captains and a contemporary batting legend, the privilege celebrates his legacy. The moment was a culmination of the dream they created together—a dream that fans were privileged enough to see come alive up close, for Ritika.

In a recent social media controversy, Ritika Sajdeh, the wife of Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma, has drawn attention for liking a video that criticizes choreographer Dhanashree Verma. After divorcing Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, Dhanashree came under fire from a video that branded her a “gold digger.”

Alleges that Dhanashree received a hefty alimony of ₹4.75 crore after separating from Chahal. The video was shared by journalist Shubhankar Mishra. He further alleged that it was clear she took the financial payment at face value while she tried to ‘act’ morally virtuous. Furthermore, Ritika's engagement with the post by liking it has sparked opposing reactions from her supporters and critics.

Most recently, these events have created some buzz on social media these days. Some people suggest that perhaps Ritika’s like means she agrees with the critique of Dhanashree, while some think it might be a complete coincidence. Neither Sharma nor Sajdeh has publicly commented on the situation.

Chahal and Dhanashree so far have kept quiet about the drama surrounding their divorce and Ritika's bold take on social media.

Though it has been reported that Dhanashree Verma was paid as much as ₹4.75 crore out of the divorce settlement, the mathematics behind the divorce along with the sums being paid after the split are shrouded in mystery. Some social media users jump in to criticize and interrogate Dhanashree’s decision to accept the alimony, while others defend it, saying it is simply the nature of divorce proceedings.
