Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha feels that no handshakes are not good for cricket. He claimed that he never experienced it previously. 

In the pre-match press conference, Pakistan skipper said, “As far as handshakes are concerned, I’ve been playing professional cricket since 2007 at the under-16 level. I’ve never seen two teams not shaking hands during the match. Even my father is a big cricket fan, I’ve heard stories about the game from him. He never told me that anything like that happened in the past, that two teams playing cricket didn’t shake hands. I’ve always heard that no such thing has ever happened on a cricket field. India and Pakistan have played earlier as well when the relations between the two countries were even worse. Even then, there used to be handshakes. According to me, no handshakes are not good for cricket.”

Talking more about the no handshake row, Pakistan captain added, “They can do whatever they want, we will just follow the protocol. Rest is upto them, if they wanna come, then come and if they don’t. We can’t do anything.” 

India and Pakistan have already met twice in the Asia Cup 2025, once in the group stage and the other in the Super Fours, and on both occasions India comfortably defeated their arch-rivals. While Indian cricketers didn't shake hands with Pakistan players in both those matches, their last game was heated on the field. While Pakistan refused to attend the pre-match press conference against India at the Super Fours, they haven't repeated it before the tournament Final. 

India and Pakistan will face off against each other for the last time in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, as they will meet in the Final of the tournament, which will be their first meeting in the 41-year-old Asia Cup Final history. Now, India and Pakistan will face each other for the third time in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, and it will be the ultimate game of the tournament. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha is excited for the upcoming Asia Cup Final, as he believes that they are good enough to beat anyone. 

Pakistan captain said at the post-match presentation against Bangladesh in the Super Fours of the Asia Cup 2025, "Very excited. We know what we need to do, and we are a good enough team to beat anyone, and we will come on Sunday and try to beat them."

Pakistan will meet Bangladesh in the fifth Super Fours match of the Asia Cup 2025 on Thursday, September 25, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Following India's consecutive victories that have already secured their place in the final, this fixture now assumes huge significance. My energy was low. At the end, we decided he will go for the big shots. I was working on my bowling quite a lot with my bowling coach. I had to back my plan B. If I bowl two good overs, I knew my team will benefit.

I always smile. Can't say it is a perfect game. We lost four wickets in 3 overs. Apart from that, it was a perfect game. We need to stop these. Our fielding coach has been working really hard with him. We have named him Rockstar. Our players have been doing extra on the field. Shaheen has been bowling really well. He is an asset for us. He is a match-winner. We play so many all-rounders as the game nowadays demands that. I know Talat for several years. Really happy for him. Nawaz as a batter has so much potential. Hope both can continue. Abrar has been bowling well. Whenever we are in a difficult situation, I go to him. Hope he can continue like this for many more seasons for Pakistan.

If you lose 5 wickets before the 10th over, it will be hard. The surface was good. They bowled and fielded really well in the first 8-9 overs. We just scored 133. But we didn't give up and fought really hard. Hasaranga is a super star in white ball cricket.

We are yet to play a perfect game, but we are getting there. A great game but in the powerplay they took the game away from us. After 10 overs, we could have got 10-15 more. 170-180 is a good total but in the powerplay they batted well, that was the difference. If you see the bowlers are going for runs, you need to change it, that's how it goes in T20s. There's a lot of positives - the way Fakhar batted, Farhan batted and Harry bowled.

Suryakumar Yadav(India Captain):
The way the boys are stepping up in every game, it's making my job very easy. The boys showed a lot of character. They were calm after the first 10 overs (of India's bowling innings). While the Indian team also decided not to shake hands at the end of their group stage game against Pakistan, we can see the same situation at the end of the Super Fours fixture tonight. It will be interesting to see how the Pakistan cricket team and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) react to the latest decision, while they had stretched the previous incident to the other matches, including cancelling the pre-match press conference last evening. In the Super Fours stage encounter, both teams made two important changes in the playing XI. We are ready for any challenge. If we play good cricket, we can be good against any side.”

Pakistan managed only 146/9 against the UAE, saved by a late cameo from Shaheen Shah Afridi, who struck an unbeaten 29 off 14 balls. However, the top and middle orders once again let Pakistan down, with Saim Ayub failing to score a run in three matches and Agha struggling to hold the innings together in the middle.

The skipper reiterated that Pakistan must specifically address their struggles between overs 7 and 15, which have repeatedly left them short of competitive totals. “Yeah, we're ready for any challenge,” Agha said. “We just want to play good cricket, and if we play good cricket like we've been playing for the last few months.”

Their upcoming contest against India is set against a charged backdrop. The group-stage meeting ended in a seven-wicket win for India, overshadowed by the no-handshake controversy linked to wider political tensions after the Pahalgam terror attack. With both sides now in the Super Four, Agha believes a sharper batting display could decide Pakistan’s fortunes. “We just want to play good cricket… If we play good cricket, we can be good against any side," he concluded

The 4th fixture of the Asia Cup 2025 will witness Pakistan and Oman locking horns in a Group A match. This is going to be the first meeting for both teams, and it will also mark the beginning of the Asia Cup 2025 campaign for both squads.
