India’s young left-handed opening batter, Yashasvi Jaiswal, celebrated his maiden ODI hundred during the third game of the three-match series against South Africa at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. During that moment, the Mumbai batter got Virat Kohli on the other end, as the latter asked Jaiswal to do a specific celebration, and the youngster obliged.

Virat Kohli’s funny moment came after he had been teasing Jaiswal for his hairstyle in the opening ODI at the JSCA Cricket Complex in Ranchi, which resembled Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s 22-year-old movie Tere Naam. The celebration he referred to came from the song “Lagan Lagi.” In the recent Aaj Tak interview, Jaiswal lauded Kohli’s incredible sense of humor and shared a few inside stories from the Indian cricket dressing room.

“There is this song that goes ‘lagan lagan,’ and Paaji (Virat Kohli) was doing the steps and also told me to do the same. I said, ‘Okay, I will do it.’ That moment was really very nice. Paaji’s sense of humor is unbelievable. Whenever he is around, I have so much fun. He picks things up very quickly, and it is always enjoyable being with him,” Jaiswal expressed during the Aaj Tak show.

Yashasvi Jaiswal talks about Virat Kohli’s humour and Rohit Sharma’s guidance In the run chase of 271 runs, Jaiswal didn’t get off to a blazing start with the bat, especially after two poor knocks in Ranchi and Raipur. He shed light on how Rohit Sharma’s guidance helped him handle the pressure and stay composed during the innings.

“It was all very special. When I started my innings, I was a little nervous because I had played only two matches before this. I was trying to convert my start. If you see, Rohit Bhai talked to me a lot, explaining how I could play and what I could do. I was under pressure too because quite a few dot balls were happening,” Jaiswal said.

“He told me, ‘You play calmly till I tell you. I will take the risks.’ You can see how big-hearted he is. He was taking more risks and wanted me to just keep batting and settling. Later, once the ball started coming nicely onto my bat, I could start controlling the run rate.”

The left-handed batter concluded during the Aaj Tak interview, which has now become a viral video reaction across social media and cricket news platforms, including Cricket Winner.
