Kanpur Superstars had a terrible start after being asked to bat. Superstars top order collapsed early, losing three wickets in the powerplay. Captain Sameer Rizvi scored some crucial quick 51 runs in 33 balls, hitting four sixes, but he did not get much support from the team . Shubham Mishra and Vineet Panwar added some quick runs, but Kanpur was all-out for just 114 runs in 18.4 overs. For Noida, Naman Tiwari was the star with 4 wickets, while Kunal Tyagi took 3 wickets giving away only 13 runs.

Chasing the small target, Noida started well and never went to trouble. Anivesh Choudhary scored 32 runs in 24 balls and Ravi Singh played a quickfire knock of 23 runs from 11 balls. The key player who performanced well is Shivam Chaudhary, who scored 52 runs in 32 balls and stayed unbeaten to take his team home with easily. This big win will give Noida Super Kings a lot of confidence after the all round performance from the team.

Kanpur Superstars won a comfortable win against Lucknow Falcons by 8 wickets in the 22nd match of UP 2025. Chasing 163 runs, Kanpur batted with confidence and chased the runs in just 15.4 overs.

Batting first, Lucknow Falcons scored 162 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Aaradhya Yadav played the key role with a great 59 runs from 44 balls, while Mohammad Saif scored a quick fire 43 runs in 31 balls. Kritagya Singh also added 26 runs, but the Falcons could not finish strongly as Kanpur bowlers picked up wickets at the right time. Rahul Sharma took two wickets, while Vineet Panwar, Shubham Mishra and Daman Singh chipped in with one each.

In reply, Kanpur Superstars were in complete control. Their batsmen played calmly, kept the scoreboard moving and never allowed the bowlers to sit in the strong position. Boundaries came at regular times and partnerships kept building, which made the chase look easy. The key player was Sameer Rizvi,he scored 76 runs in 32 balls. The Falcons bowlers tried different ways to stop the flow of the runs.

from this 8-wicket victory, Kanpur Superstars have shown their batting depth and strong approach in the UP 2025. Lucknow Falcons will be disappointed as their bowlers could not defend a defending total. The Superstars, on the other side, will take a lot of confidence moving forward in the tournament.

Gorakhpur Lions played strong cricket to win against Kanpur Superstars by 13 runs in a high-scoring game. The Lions batted first and made 193/2 in 20 overs. Captain Dhruv Jurel got out early, but Aryan Juyal stayed till the end with a steady 90 not out. He scored 6 fours and 6 sixes and gave a strong contribution. Later, Siddharth Yadav played a quickfire 56 runs in 27 balls, smashing 5 sixes.

Akshdeep Nath also added 28 runs as the Lions finished with a strong total. Chasing 194, Kanpur Superstars lost wickets early in the second innings, but their captain, Sameer Rizvi, kept the fight alive. He played a brilliant innings of 93 runs from 49 balls, hitting 9 fours and 5 sixes. His batting gave hope to Kanpur, but he did not get enough support from the other batters.

Shaurya Singh made 21 and Vineet Panwar scored 19, but most of the middle and lower order collapsed quickly. The Lions bowlers held their nerves at the right time. Teerath Singh bowled superbly, taking 4 wickets for 28 runs, while Vasu Vats grabbed 2 wickets for just 25.

Prince Yadav and Shivam Sharma also took a wicket each. Kanpur were bowled out for 180 in 19.5 overs, falling just 13 runs short. It was a great team effort by Gorakhpur Lions. Juyal’s steady batting, Siddharth’s power hitting, and the bowlers’ control in the death overs made sure the Lions walked away with a thrilling win.

The 4th T20 match of the Uttar Pradesh T20 2025 was a thrilling encounter in which KR won against KS by 24 runs. The match had it all big hits, rapid wickets, and one special hundred that shifted the game's momentum in favor of the batting team.

KR first came out to bat and managed a solid score of 201 runs for 3 wickets from 20 overs. The pick of the innings was Adarsh Singh, who produced an excellent knock. He remained not out until the end and scored an amazing 100 runs from 59 balls with 9 fours and 5 sixes. His innings kept the scoreboard active and gave KR complete dominance. Captain Sameer Rizvi contributed a brief 25 from 18 balls, followed by Shubhanker Shukla and Vineet Panwar, who added valuable runs.

For KS, the bowlers worked hard but could not stem the run flow. Sunil Kumar bowled decently and grabbed 3 wickets for 25 runs, and Atal Bihari Vipin Rai grabbed 2 wickets. Nevertheless, KR's batting appeared to be too powerful and crossed the 200 mark. Pursuing 202, KS managed to score just 177 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. They lost their wickets at intervals and were unable to form a large partnership. The pressure of the needed run rate continued to mount, and nobody was able to play a long innings like Adarsh Singh.

KR vs KS 4th T20 UP 2025 score will be etched in the memory for Adarsh Singh's outstanding century, which turned the match around. KR advance confidently with this victory, while KS will have to reboot for their next match.

Delhi Capitals (DC) star Sameer Rizvi marked Chennai Super Kings (CSK) icon MS Dhoni as one of the greatest T20 finishers, among a few other greats of the format. Rizvi did a challenging blindfold task of ranking six legends including MS Dhoni in the format as finishers.

Without any hesitation, the young batter put Dhoni right on the top of the list. Other than the former India skipper, de Villiers, Michael Hussey, Jos Buttler, Kieron Pollard, and Michael Bevan were the contenders. After marking Dhoni as the best finisher of T20, Rizvi placed Pollard, Villiers, Hussey, Buttler, and Bevan in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th positions, respectively.

Due to the Indian Premier League (IPL), like many emerging cricketers, Sameer Rizvi also got a chance to share a dressing room with some of the big names of the game. CSK was Rizvi's first IPL team in his career. During the IPL 2024, he played a few matches for the multi-time IPL-winning franchise. Then, he got the chance to share some moments with Dhoni. Moments with the legendary keeper-batter were priceless for the Meerut-born cricketer. Sharing a conversation with the former India skipper, Rizvi said that Dhoni advised him to keep his nerves cool under pressure situations.

Dhoni supported Rizvi off the field 

"He has always supported me off the field, especially on the mental side. He always tells us to stay calm in high-pressure situations and take deep breaths for 5–6 seconds, which will help us relax and think in a better way," Rizvi said. 

The emerging cricketer played 8 matches for CSK in IPL 2025, scoring only 51 runs at an average of 12.75. Ahead of the mega auction, CSK did not retain him, and Rizvi joined Delhi Capitals for IPL 2025, where he scored 121 runs at an average of over 40 and a strike rate of 153.16 in 5 matches. 

The important match of IPL 2025 between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings was played at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. In this match, Delhi Capitals defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets and ended their season of IPL 2025 with a win. Punjab Kings had set a target of 207 runs in front of Delhi Capitals. In this match played at Jaipur ground, Punjab Kings came to bat first, then their start was not good and openers Priyansh Arya (6) and Prabhsimran Singh (26) could not do anything special. After this, Josh Inglis scored 32 runs in 12 balls with three fours and two sixes. While Shreyas Iyer played an innings of 53 runs in 34 balls with five fours and two sixes. While in the end Marcus Stoinis played an unbeaten innings of 44 runs in 16 balls with three fours and four sixes. Due to which Punjab, playing first, made a total of 206 runs for eight wickets. Mustafizur Rahman took the maximum three wickets for Delhi.

Sameer Rizvi played a brilliant innings in the run chase

Chasing the 207 runs given by Punjab Kings, Delhi opener KL Rahul scored 35 runs in 21 balls with six fours and a six. Apart from this, Faf du Plessis (23), debutant Sediqullah Atal (22) could not do anything special. After this, Karun Nair, who returned to the Test team India after eight years, batted and he played an innings of 44 runs in 27 balls with five fours and two sixes. Due to which Delhi needed 34 runs in 18 balls in the end.

But Sameer Rizvi played an unbeaten innings of 58 runs in 25 balls with three fours and five sixes till the end and along with him Tristan Stubbs also returned unbeaten after scoring 18 runs in 14 balls. With this, Delhi scored 208 runs for four wickets in 19.3 overs and ended the season by winning by six wickets. Delhi ended the season with 15 points from seven wins and six losses in 14 matches.

In Match 66 of IPL 2025, the Delhi Capitals emerged victorious over the Punjab Kings by 6 wickets in a hard-fought contest at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The Punjab Kings set an impressive 206/8, thanks to some classy batting by Shreyas Iyer, who scored 53 off 34 balls, and a late onslaught from Marcus Stoinis, who scored 44* off just 16 balls. The game changed dramatically in the last few overs, wherein almost 70 runs were scored, taking a competitive total and turning it into a mountain of runs on a good batting track.

Chasing 207, Delhi looked firmly in control of the required run rate with KL Rahul and Karun Nair doing the bulk of the run scoring, with Nair contributing 44 runs off 27 deliveries. The match changed decisively once Sameer Rizvi took control of the match, scoring an explosive 58* off just 25 balls, and completed the chase with 3 balls to spare. Rizvi showed maturity beyond his years, increasing the run rate expertly in the last few overs.

Punjab Kings had some victories, bringing down the wickets by Harpreet Brar and Praveen Dubey; however, the death bowling proved difficult under pressure. Delhi managed to cash in on a few bad deliveries, closing out the game. Delhi moved to now still be in contention for the playoffs and leave Punjab with an uphill battle to stay in the tournament!. 1. Poor Execution in Bowling Plans

Punjab Kings put a large bowl on the scoreboard at 206, but their execution failed while defending the target. Captain Shreyas Iyer said they needed to bowl to the plan and bowl hard lengths; instead, they bowled short, and that was on the wrong surface of the pitch, causing Delhi batters to settle and score effortlessly.

2. Lack of Discipline Under Pressure

When Punjab reached the pressure stages of defense, the bowler's composure disappeared, and too many balls went to the boundary. One would think the pressure of defending a large target affected their decision-making and control on their accuracy. Punjab really never maintained pressure during the middle and death overs; at times the pressure of the occasion got to them, and this wasn't a good thing.

3. Inability to Contain Sameer Rizvi

Sameer Rizvi's 58* off just 25 balls was the match-winning innings, which was performed by Delhi. Punjab's bowlers have no plan to slow him down, nor did they manage to build him up and actually mount pressure on him. Really, Rizvi's aggressive stroke play highlighted how flimsy Punjab's death bowling options were, and ultimately this was sloppy cleansing hitting under pressure with no answers from Punjab.

The 21-year-old Uttar Pradesh cricketer Sameer Rizvi, who has joined the IPL team Delhi Capitals for the 2025 season, is in dream form with the bat. On Christmas Day 2024, the right-handed batter hit a match-winning double-century while chasing a 407-run target. It was his second double-century in the Men U23 State A Trophy 2024-25 as he hit two 200s and two 100s in the last nine days of the One-Day tournament.

With centuries from Danish Malewar (142 off 123; 16 fours and four sixes) and captain Mohammad Faiz (100 off 62 balls; nine fours and five sixes), and Jagjot’s 61 off 26 balls (five fours and four sixes), Vidarbha scored a giant total of 406/6 in 50 overs.

Double-centurion Sameer Rizvi controlled the successful chasing

Chasing down the mammoth total, Uttar Pradesh openers Shaurya Singh and Swastik set up a strong start with a 106-run partnership before the completion of the 11th over. Although both the openers were dismissed in quick succession, wicketkeeper-batter Shoaib Siddiqui and captain Sameer Rizvi controlled the innings very well and set up a 296-run partnership for the unbroken third wicket to complete the chase in 41.2 overs. 

While Siddiqui scored 96 not out off 73 balls with nine fours and one six, Rizvi remained unbeaten on 202 off 105 balls with 10 fours and 18 sixes.

Sameer Rizvi scored four one-day centuries in the tournament

Just four days ago, Uttar Pradesh captain Sameer Rizvi slammed the fastest 200 in the tournament's history by completing that in 97 balls. With the help of 13 fours and 20 sixes, the right-handed middle-order batter scored 201 not out off 97 balls and guided the team total to 405/4 in 50 overs. 

Without any doubt, Rizvi is the leading run-scorer in the ongoing Men U23 State A Trophy 2024-25 with 728 runs in six matches with an average of 242.67 and a strike rate of 172.51. He has hit four centuries in this tournament, including two double hundreds, as he hit all these four three-figure scores in the last nine days. 

Sameer Rizvi was recently bought by Delhi Capitals for INR 95 lakh during the mega auction. He made his IPL debut for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024, who bought him for INR 8.40 crore. In his eight IPL 2024 matches, the right-handed middle-order batter scored 51 runs.

Rizvi said,”Dhoni bhai told me just one thing. How you have been playing till now, that’s the game. You just need to play like that. There’s nothing different. The skill is the same and the mindset maybe a little different. So whenever you’re playing, don’t feel the pressure.”

“Just play according to the situation. Then you won’t feel the pressure. Then you won’t be nervous. Obviously, it’s your first game, so you would be nervous. But just play how you have been playing till now.”

Rizvi shares meeting with Dhoni is dream come true for him

He expressed immense happiness at being selected by CSK during the auction. The young player emphasized that his primary goal is to absorb as much knowledge as he can during his time with CSK.

He added, “When I was picked by CSK during the IPL auction I was very happy. It was a dream of mine to meet MS Dhoni. Playing with him was something I hadn’t thought of, but meeting him was a dream. Now that dream has been fulfilled and I’m getting to play alongside him. We have had a lot of net sessions together, and I have a learned lot from him. I have learned from the coaching staff as well. So That’s my aim to learn as much as possible from this team.” 

Looking ahead, CSK gears up to take on Delhi Capitals on March 31 in Vizag, anticipating another thrilling encounter in the IPL 2024 season.

CSK’s Dominance
