At Grace Road in Leicester, Pakistan Champions played outstanding cricket to beat Australia Champions by 10 wickets in Match 14 of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025. After choosing to bowl first, Pakistan bowled out Australia for just 74 runs in 11.5 overs, thanks to a magical spell from Saeed Ajmal. In reply, Pakistan chased down the target in only 7.5 overs without losing a single wicket, making it one of the most one-sided wins of the tournament. With this win, Pakistan moved to the top of the points table.

Australia Champions had a tough day at the office. They were all out for just 74 runs and couldn’t handle Pakistan’s strong bowling attack. Ben Dunk was the only bright spot with 26 runs off 14 balls. The rest of the batters, including Callum Ferguson (10) and Shaun Marsh (7), couldn’t stay long at the crease. Saeed Ajmal was the star for Pakistan, taking 6 wickets for just 16 runs in 3.5 overs. He completely confused the Australian batters. Imad Wasim took 2 wickets, and Sohail Tanvir got 1, making it a strong bowling effort.

Pakistan Champions came out to bat with confidence and finished the chase in just 7.5 overs. Sharjeel Khan scored 32* from 23 balls, while Sohaib Maqsood stayed not out on 28 from 26 balls. Australia’s bowlers had a bad day, especially John Hastings, who bowled 11 wides in one over. In total, Australia gave away 14 extra runs. It was a one-sided match where Pakistan showed total control and walked away with an easy 10-wicket win, putting them on top of the WCL 2025 points table.

It was absolute carnage in Northampton as Australia Champions made light work of a modest 143-run target, chasing it down in just 9.3 overs to beat West Indies Champions by 8 wickets in the World Championship of Legends 2025.

Batting first, West Indies never really got going.
Dwayne Smith scored 22 runs, Chris Gayle scored 21 runs, and Lendl Simmons 29 runs all got decent starts but couldn’t convert them into big scores. Their middle order struggled, and they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Dwayne Bravo tried to fight back with a quick 26 off 17 balls, but Australia’s bowling attack kept things tight. Peter Siddle was the pick of the bowlers, grabbing 3 wickets, while Coulter-Nile took 2. West Indies finished with 142/8 in 20 overs, which seemed just about competitive until Chris Lynn walked out to bat.

The Aussie opener went berserk, smashing the ball to all parts of the ground.
He blasted 81 runs from only 27 balls, including 6 fours and 8 huge sixes. He completely destroyed the Windies bowling attack. Shaun Marsh and Chris Lynn gave Australia a fiery start, and even after Lynn got out, Ben Dunk came in and finished things off in style with a stunning 30 off 9 balls.

Australia ended on 143/2 in just 9.3 overs, winning the match with a 63 balls to spare. It was a one-sided affair that showed just how dangerous the Aussie Legends can be when their batters get going. West Indies will have to go back to the drawing board after this heavy defeat, while Australia will be full of confidence moving forward in the tournament.

England lost their first match and will be looking to get some momentum going. But they are up against a strong Aussie side, which look ready to dominate the competition.

This should be a great contest, but Australia appear to have an edge as they have more bases covered.

<![CDATA[From 2008 to 2025: Brothers etch their names in IPL history with stunning tons]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/from-2008-to-2025-brothers-etch-their-names-in-ipl-history-with-stunning-tons/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/from-2008-to-2025-brothers-etch-their-names-in-ipl-history-with-stunning-tons/ Thu, 22 May 2025 22:20:18 GMT

Lucknow Super Giants star Mitchell Marsh, the Australian all-rounder, hit his first IPL century during their 13th IPL 2025 match against the hosts and table toppers Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on Thursday night (May 22). With the help of this century, IPL has got a new story that started from its inaugural edition in 2008.

IPL 2025, GT vs LSG: Mitchell Marsh scored 117 runs

Lucknow Super Giants scored 235/2 in 20 overs with the power of opener Mitchell Marsh's brilliant century. After completing his sixth IPL 2025 50 and second consecutive 50 in 33 balls, where the right-handed batter slammed four fours and four sixes, he recorded his first IPL century in 56 balls. It was the seventh IPL 2025 century, which was the first IPL 2025 hundred by an overseas batter. Marsh scored 117 off 64 balls with the help of 10 fours and eight sixes before Arshad Khan dismissed him in the 19th over.

Opener Mitchell Marsh had two important partnerships during that memorable century. While he had a 91-run opening partnership with Aiden Markram, he and Nicholas Pooran had another 121-run partnership for the second wicket.

With his 117 runs, LSG opener Mitchell Marsh recorded the second-highest individual score in the IPL 2025, behind SunRisers Hyderabad opener Abhishek Sharma's 141 against Punjab Kings in Hyderabad during their successful chase of the 246-run target.

Marsh brothers with IPL centuries

Meanwhile, this century from Mitchell Marsh was very special because it was the first time that IPL experienced brothers' names in the long IPL centuries list.

In the IPL 2008, the inaugural edition of the cash-rich tournament, Australian cricketer Shaun Marsh, the elder brother of Mitchell Marsh, became the first uncapped cricketer to record an IPL century. Serving for Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings), Shaun scored 115 off 69 balls against Rajasthan Royals in Mohali. It was his only IPL century, while he played 71 IPL matches all for the Punjab franchise.

Now, the latest IPL century from Mitchell Marsh set a first story of a pair of brothers scoring IPL centuries.
