The Bangladeshi bowlers took advantage of the slow Dubai pitch conditions. Mustafizur Rahman was brilliant, taking 3 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 overs, especially in the death overs. Saif Hassan dispatched Nuwan Thushara for a six:

Hassan played a match-winning 61-run against 45 balls. During this time, he smashed a couple of 4s and four 6s. One of the 6s he hit was against Sri Lankan sling pacer Thushara. Thushara delivered a full-length delivery on the pads of the right-handed opener of Bangladesh.

The on-song batter, who was on the line of the delivery, just used his wrists to flick the ball over the long-on for a huge over boundary. It was the batter's technique and balance that turned the decent ball into a maximum.

Tanzid Hasan was dismissed in the very first over of the second innings during the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, September 20. The in-form Nuwan Thushara sent the Bangladesh opener back to the pavilion for a two-ball duck.

Sri Lanka batted first after Litton Das won the toss and chose to field. Dasun Shanaka played a sensational innings, scoring 64 off just 37 balls with three fours and six sixes. For that delivery, the bowler tried to put the ball on the line of the stumps but went slightly towards the off. Shanaka picked up the opportunity to gain the maximum result. Just two days ago, Sri Lankan cricketer Dunith Wellalage got the tragic news after the end of the group stage match in the Asia Cup 2025 against Afghanistan. Wanindu Hasaranga could have easily added another wicket to his tally if the bail response had been its usual way. The ball hit the stumps, but the bail remained still as a rock. Pathum Nissanka's stable 50-run knock off 34 balls provided Sri Lanka solidity in the beginning of their innings. Number three batter Kamil Mishara's unbeaten 46 ensured their win against the archrival. 

Hasaranga in the match took a couple wickets in the match. During the second ball of the 10th over of the first innings, a movie ball from the spinner sneaked past between Ali's bat and pad and went straight to the wicket. The red lights in the stumps started to blink, and Hasaranga was about to begin the celebration. But then he suddenly realized that the bails did not go down. Ali was then batting on only 5 runs and ended with an unbeaten 41. Though, the Bangladesh cricket team was not as lucky as Ali.
