The 2025 season of the Men’s T20 Asia Cup is approaching close and knocking on the door and is due to begin on September 09 as Afghanistan will lock horns with Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi for the curtain raiser of the competition. India, who didn’t play a single game since the fifth and final Test of the England series, have started their preparation.

For the exciting next month’s action, the spotlight will also be on the commentators, who play a huge role in bringing the game to life for the viewers, as the official broadcaster has announced the Hindi commentary panel for the upcoming competition. Sony Sports has released the list for the live coverage, which will be available for both TV and online streaming.

Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Ajay Jadeja, Vivek Razdan, Abhishek Nayar, Saba Karim, Gaurav Kapur, Atish Thukral, and Samir Kochhar will be there in the commentary panel for the Hindi language on Sony, apart from which, this will be available in Tamil and Telugu, as they have announced the complete panel of other languages.

Irfan Pathan leads star-studded Hindi commentary panel of Asia Cup 2025

Afghanistan and Pakistan are featuring in the T20I series against the United Arab Emirates at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium as the two away sides have qualified for the final of the event on September 07 at the same venue. It will also be important for them to get good preparation for the Asia Cup 2025.

The competition will feature eight teams, an increase from the previous seasons. However, the event will follow the traditional format, with a group stage, a Super Four stage, and the final. The A-group will include India, Pakistan, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates, while the B-group will be around Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong.

The most anticipated clash between the two arch-rivals will be on September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium as the Super Four stage will begin on September 20, leading up to the final in a week. The event began with three teams and expanded to four until 2000, six teams in 2004 and 2008, and the last three editions had six sides each.

The 2025 season of the Asia Cup will begin in September, and the Indian team will lock horns against the United States of America (UAE) in their first group-stage clash of the edition. The entire tournament will be played across the two venues at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Sony Sports Network will telecast the games on its channels, while Sony LIV will stream the games. The highly anticipated clash between the two neighboring sides, India and Pakistan, will take place on September 14 in Dubai, as the two rivals will meet each other as many as three times, potentially, if they progress in the final and Super 4 stage.

During the 17th season of the event, the Asian Cricket Competition will feature eight teams that have been divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group will make their way into the Super 4 stage, from where the two toppers will clash in the final on September 28. The event is 42 years old since its first introduction in 1983.

For the 2025 edition of the tournament, the two groups have been made. India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman are part of the first group, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong are part of the second group. The curtain raiser will be between Afghanistan and Hong Kong.

The event has gone through rotational changes between the ODIs and T20Is since 2016. The last season saw India winning the title in the 50-over format in 2023 in Sri Lanka just before the start of the ODI World Cup. On the other hand, this year, it will take place in the shortest format, keeping an eye on the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka.

In the promo, Sony showed some of the great events, including Hardik Pandya’s superb six to win the game against Pakistan, Sri Lanka earning the 2022 edition of the tournament, while Shubman Gill also celebrated a fine century against Bangladesh. On the other hand, they also displayed Rashid Khan and a few other notable players.

The excitement and anticipation for India’s Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have raised the temperature. The entire tournament will be played in the shortest format, keeping an eye on the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. Moreover, there is a different eye on the upcoming clash between the Blue Brigade and the Green Brigade.

India’s broadcasters are setting a new record for the advertisement rates for the Asia Cup 2025 event, with the matches between the two neighboring countries driving the biggest demand. Sony Pictures Network in India is the media rights holder of the event till 2031 and has priced the TV ads for India’s games at INR 14 lakh to 16 lakh per 10 seconds, as the reports have addressed.

The Sony Sports Network will telecast the games on television, with the streaming taking place on SonyLIV. The co-presentation sponsorship will be of INR 18 crore with the associate sponsorship being around INR 13 crore. For the India games, the ad rates per 10 seconds are INR 16 lakh or a total of nearly INR 4.5 crore for the entire fixture.

Sony Sports set new advertisement price for Asia Cup 2025

The co-presenting and the highlights partner will be of INR 30 crore each in the 20-over tournament, while the co-powered package will be of INR 18 crore. For the games of the Suryakumar Yadav-led side, 30% of all the digital ads are reserved. These are the rates of the event on SonyLIV.

The pre-rolls of the advertisement during the competition will be of INR 275 per 10 seconds. On the other hand, the price goes up to INR 500 for India games and INR 750 for the encounter between India and Pakistan. In case of the mid-rolls, it will be INR 225 for all games. The number becomes INR 400 for the fixtures of the Indian side and INR 600 for the India-Pakistan clash.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has signed sponsors such as DP World for the title. Regarding the global sponsors, they have grabbed Wonder Cement, Spinny and Groww. For the official partners, they have included Royal Stag Packaged Drinking Water, Haier, Daikin, and Ozone.
