Pakistan, a few days ago, forfeited their clash against India, which is scheduled to take place on February 15 at the R. Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo, during the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. The Pakistan government has given the green light to the national team to feature in the ICC event, but not against the neighbours.

The Bollywood actor of India, Sunil Shetty, during the event of a book launch, claimed that Pakistan should look to travel to Colombo and face the Suryakumar Yadav-led side as he wants to see the domination of the beautiful rivalry, which he compared with the Ashes between England and Australia.

“I want Pakistan to come to Sri Lanka and play against India. The India and Pakistan teams have a beautiful rivalry, just like the Ashes rivalry between England and Australia. Just like both teams had been playing together, they should continue playing in the same trend.” Shetty expressed in a press conference for a book launch.

In the captain’s meeting, Suryakumar confirmed that India would follow the schedule and travel to Colombo for the Pakistan clash after completing their second encounter against Namibia in Delhi.

“Mindset is pretty clear. We haven't said no to the game. The ICC has decided on a neutral venue. We are going to Colombo for sure. We don't know about others. We will play the match on the 7th and go to Colombo then. Every team is good here, so it's important to play good cricket. Very relieved to get back to form and score runs. We want to control the way we want to play; dew is not in our control.” Sky noted.

“Their decision is not in my control. We played them 3 times in the Asia Cup; we won and were happy. If we get the opportunity to play in Colombo, we will play them. It's not my call. If the decision is coming from the government, then I can't do anything about it. The fixtures are ready, and we will go to Colombo.” The Indian captain addressed.

Team India brought immense joy to cricket fans with a spectacular six-run win over England at The Oval on Monday in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 series, with the series now tied at 2-2. After a final that exhilarating, it was one of India's most memorable Test wins in England, and the celebrations were equally emotional and electrifying.

The final wicket was taken by Mohammed Siraj, and Bollywood star Suniel Shetty, who was present in the stands on Day 5, was so overwhelmed that he couldn’t restrain himself. The actor was captured on video screaming with joy in the stands. Suniel, together with Ahan Shetty, who is his son, shared videos on Instagram while celebrating India's spectacular comeback together with the fans.

The series was dominated by KL Rahul, who is also Suniel’s son-in-law as well; he was the third-highest run-scorer throughout the series. He scored 532 runs in 10 innings at an average of 53.20, including two centuries and two fifties, with a top score of 137. Under Shubman Gill’s leadership, the Indian team showed great composure and character to bounce back and end the five-match series on level terms.

After England opted to bowl first, India managed just 224 in their first innings, with Karun Nair’s gritty fifty being the standout. In response, fifties from Zak Crawley and Harry Brook pushed England to 247, gaining a 23-run lead, with Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna taking four wickets each.

India responded strongly in their second innings, posting 396 thanks to a superb century by Yashasvi Jaiswal. That gave them a 373-run target to defend. England seemed to be dominating the game at 317/4 with centuries from Joe Root and Harry Brook, but a sensational late burst from Siraj, Krishna, and Akash Deep turned the match on its head. Siraj’s five-wicket haul was the big moment of the incredible win and still was the highlight of the unbelievable Test series.
