India will lock horns with Pakistan in their last Super Six encounter of the U19 World Cup 2026 at the Queen Sports Club in Bulawayo. That clash will perhaps decide whether two teams or one of them could qualify for the semifinal of the competition. The Indian side, under the leadership of Ayush Mahtre, sits at the top with three wins at a net run rate of +3.337.

Meanwhile, Pakistan is in third position with two wins in three clashes and one defeat that they faced against England by 37 runs in their opening clash of the campaign. New Zealand, who faced a massive defeat against the Pakistan side, is expected to lose to England, who will the get promoted to the third stage of the round.

That brings the excitement of the clash. For Pakistan, they need a massive win and perhaps will need to put up another strong win just after the recent final victory in the Asia Cup 2025. If India bats first, then the opposition needs to chase down the 200-run target in 28 overs or less.

Know Pakistan’s qualifying scenarios for U19 WC 2026 semifinal

If India sets a target of 250 runs, then Pakistan will be required to complete the run chase within 25 overs. The pressure will be massive when the target goes up to 300, because then they would need to get the runs in 22 overs or less. In terms of putting 350 runs by Mhatre’s side, it will be impossible for the Pakistan team to complete the chase by 19 overs or less.

If Pakistan bats first, then putting 200 runs on the board won’t be enough. They need to win by 118 runs by setting a target of 250. If they add another 50 runs to the total, the cushion will drop by 22 runs. In putting 350 runs, they need to win by 72 or more runs.

The semifinals will take place on February 03 and 04 with the final being scheduled on February 06 at the Harar Sports Club in Harare. The ground will also host the second semifinal while Bulawayo is arranging the first semifinal.

The 2026 ICC Under-19 World Cup began on January 15 with a match between India and USA. A total of 16 teams are taking part in the tournament, which is being played in Zimbabwe and Namibia. The event features some of the best young cricket talents from around the world.

India are the most successful team in Under-19 World Cup history, having won the title five times. Many fans will remember Prithvi Shaw, who led India to victory in the 2018 Under-19 World Cup. Before that, in 2008, a young Indian team led by Virat Kohli won the trophy in Malaysia.

Several current Indian stars first made their mark at the Under-19 World Cup. Players like Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, Abhishek Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Kuldeep Yadav announced their arrival on the big stage through this tournament.

While most fans remember these well-known names, here is a list of five Indian players you may not know who also once represented India in the Under-19 World Cup.

Sri Lanka Cricket has officially announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026, scheduled to be held in Namibia and Zimbabwe from January 15 to February 6. The tournament represents a crucial stage for young cricketers to announce themselves on the global platform and build pathways into senior international cricket.

Royal College, Colombo batter Vimath Dinsara has been entrusted with the captaincy, while Kavija Gamage of Kingswood College will serve as vice-captain. The leadership pairing underlines Sri Lanka Cricket’s emphasis on composure, tactical awareness, and youth-driven responsibility at the age-group level.

The bowling group offers variety in pace and spin, an important factor given the diverse conditions expected in southern Africa.

It is the second semifinal of the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024. Australia U19 will face Pakistan U19 in this game, to advance to the final against India. Rain hampered Australia’s last game against the West Indies, resulting in a draw. Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in their last game and has gained momentum. Both teams have not lost a game in this tournament, so we anticipate a close game here. The Pakistanis have performed well in most games, but this will be the most difficult challenge for the team. Their batting has been inconsistent. The Australians will enjoy the bowling conditions, and it will be interesting to see if Pakistan can beat them.

Defending champions India U19 will face South Africa U19 in the first semifinal of the ongoing ICC Under 19 World Cup 2024. The Indians have done well, coming here after an impressive victory over Nepal in their last Super Six match. The South Africans won by a large margin against Sri Lanka, and the team will be confident. The Indians have yet to lose a game in the tournament, and their players are in good form. They’ve made the finals in the last four tournaments, which will boost morale in the camp. The South African middle order has struggled, and it is unclear whether they will be able to stop the Indian juggernaut.

Their middle-order batsmen have struggled, and the team will need a strong performance from both them and the new ball bowlers to win. The Indians have been on a roll, and their batting order has annihilated opponents. With the bowlers playing a complementary role, they will begin favorites here. Considering the team combination, India U19 is expected to win this match.
