LAKR's bowlers struggled, with only Corne Dry (2 for 33) and Tanveer Sangha (2 for 38) being the only bowlers to have any success.

LAKR's chase of 209 had a miserable result. They were bowled out for just 95 in 16.3 overs. Saif Badar top-scored with 32 and Jason Holder contributed 23. Washington's bowlers were clinical, with Jack Edwards (3 for 15) and Mitchell Owen (3 for 18) leading the charge and dismantling LAKR's middle order. Saurabh Netravalkar was the most economical bowler in the game with 2 for 6 to help WSF to one of the biggest wins in MLC.

Eight tons now equal Maxwell's count with T20 veterans such as David Warner, Aaron Finch, Rohit Sharma, Jos Buttler, and Michael Klinger—putting him joint-fourth on the all-time list for the most centuries in T20s.

The thunderous knock was against the Los Angeles Knight Riders in Oakland, where Maxwell hit an unbeaten 106 out of only 49 deliveries. Showcasing his signature brute strength, he blasted the ball over the boundaries 13 times and over the fence twice, finishing with a strike rate of 216.33. Rushing in as captain this summer in place of Steve Smith, Maxwell played a captain's innings, which helped Washington Freedom score 208/5 after they had been 68/4 at one point.

Nicknamed 'The Big Show' for his bold and flamboyant style of play, Maxwell once again lived up to the nickname. He especially savaged Jason Holder in the last over, belting 26 runs off the last six balls courtesy of partner Obus Pienaar (14*), giving Washington a match-winning total. The performance has not only given the team's campaign a boost but also established his name among the great short-format hitters of the game.

Maxwell's MLC Form and the Battle for T20 Excellence

Maxwell's consistency in MLC 2025 has been excellent till now. He has scored 149 runs in three innings at an average of 149.00 and at a strike rate of more than 204. His earlier scores of 38* and 5 were good, but this century has really asserted his dominance. He is now the second-highest run-getter in the tournament.
