In a major development, trouble doesn’t seem to be ending soon for RCB pacer Yash Dayal. The left-arm seamer is most likely to be banned from playing in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh T20 League 2025. The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) is closely monitoring the accusations against Dayal and has decided not to allow him to take part in their premier T20 league.

This decision comes after an FIR was lodged against him at Jaipur’s Sanganer Sadar Police Station in July, accusing the cricketer of raping a 17-year-old minor. Dayal was last seen in action in May as part of the IPL 2025 trophy-winning RCB team. Jaipur Police has registered a case against him under the POCSO Act and the Indian Penal Code (BNS). This news has come as a shock to cricket fans.

Yash Dayal Banned from UPT20 2025

As per Dainik Jagran, Yash Dayal, who was bought for ₹7 lakh by the Gorakhpur Lions, has been banned by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) from playing in the UP T20 League 2025. Before the complaint lodged in Jaipur, an FIR was already registered against him in Ghaziabad for alleged sexual exploitation on the promise of marriage.

UPCA sources told the publication that Dayal was banned from the league due to these cases. However, the Gorakhpur Lions’ owners said they had not yet received any formal order from the UPCA. The UPCA claimed they had warned the franchise not to allow Dayal to play. The franchise said that while Dayal’s name is still on the team list, they will take action if a formal directive is issued.

In the Ghaziabad FIR, the complaint was first submitted to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s grievance portal on June 21. Later, a formal FIR was filed. The Allahabad High Court then ordered a stay on Yash Dayal’s arrest.

Fresh Allegations from Jaipur

A second FIR was lodged in Jaipur, claiming that Dayal exploited a 17-year-old minor for two years, promising her a future in professional cricket. The girl alleged that she was emotionally blackmailed and tortured during this time.

In the Ghaziabad case, the woman alleged she had been in a relationship with Dayal for five years. She claimed the RCB pacer promised to marry her but backed out, causing her emotional and physical harm. Recently, the Jaipur court denied interim protection to Dayal. Justice Sudesh Bansal, who is hearing the case, said the next hearing will be on August 22.

Past Controversy

This is not the first time Dayal has been in the news for negative reasons. Two years ago, he was accused of posting objectionable communal content on Instagram. Dayal later clarified that the post was made from his account but was not uploaded by him. Right now, legal action is ongoing, and Yash Dayal’s cricket career remains uncertain.

The UPT20 franchise that signed Dayal provided a different statement to the media. According to the reports, Gorakhpur Lions owners had not received any such directive from the UPCA. But, as long as the RCB star is their registered player, they would take necessary steps according to the situations. 

Though the governing body informed them that they had warned the franchise to prohibit the cricketer from the upcoming edition of the tournament. When Dayal was heading after facing the first FIR, another FIR was lodged from another side in Jaipur, claiming that Dayal exploited the minor over two years.

A woman from Ghaziabad had alleged that the Uttar Pradesh-born pacer had committed the same activity. This now creates a high risk for the RCB player, as it involves a minor girl aged 17 accusing the player of rape. An FIR was filed against him in the Sanganer Sadar Police Station in Jaipur.

Yash Dayal, as reported, promised the young girl a bright future in professional cricket and used her for two years. The SHO of the Police station, Anil Jaiman, stated that the girl came in touch with the bowler while playing cricket. A couple of years ago, when the victim was a minor, Dayal was involved in multiple rapes.

The Jaipur police informed that since the report was made when the girl was a minor, it will come under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act 2012). The punishment could be severe and may include imprisonment for multiple years. It won’t be sweet news for the RCB pacer, whose career might be destroyed.

It was on July 8, 2025, when reports claimed that the cricketer had been booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The case of sexual exploitation was filed by a woman with whom Dayal was in a relationship. The major developments regarding the issue came after the first hearing of the case against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricketer, Yash Dayal, on July 15, 2025.

The relationship was a out 5 years long

A Division Bench of Justices, Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar, reflected that the relationship between the cricketer and the woman was about 5 years long, which complicated the matter more. "We have perused the FIR, from which it is apparent that the relationship between the parties continued for a span of five years. At this stage, it is difficult to ascertain whether there was any promise of marriage, or if there was any such promise, it was a false one from the very beginning with an intention to obtain sexual consent," quoted in the statement.

The court also put a hold on Yash Dayal's arrest until the next hearing date or until the police file their report before the bench. "Till the next date of listing or till the submission of the police report, whichever is earlier, the petitioner shall not be arrested," the court said. 

In what comes as a major relief for Royal Challengers Bengaluru pacer Yash Dayal, the Allahabad High Court on Tuesday stayed his arrest in connection with a case filed against him for allegedly exploiting a woman over a five-year period. The FIR was registered on July 6 at the Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means.

A bench comprising Justice Siddharth Varma and Anil Kumar heard the plea and granted a stay on the pacer’s arrest until the next date of listing. Yash Dayal had approached the court seeking protection from arrest after the complaint was filed. During the hearing, the bench questioned the woman’s allegations, remarking, “You could have been fooled for 1 day, 2 days, 3 days…but 5 years…you are entering into a relationship for 5 years…one can’t be fooled for 5 years.”

According to the woman, she and Yash met around five years ago, and he allegedly promised to marry her. She claimed that he kept delaying marriage while being involved with other women. Legal counsel Gopal Swaroop Chaturvedi, assisted by Gaurav Tripathi and Raghuvansh Mishra, appeared for Yash in the matter.

Yash Dayal Files Counter Complaint

In a parallel development, Yash Dayal has filed a complaint with the Prayagraj police, seeking an FIR against the same woman. He approached the Khuldabad police station, accusing her of theft and alleging she stole his iPhone and laptop. According to a report by NDTV, Yash stated that he first came in contact with her via Instagram four years ago.

Yash further alleged that the woman borrowed lakhs of rupees from him, citing medical emergencies involving herself and her family. He claimed that she promised to repay the amount but failed to do so, prompting him to take legal action.

“The woman, who has accused me of sexual harassment and has registered a FIR on that, met me on Instagram in the year 2021. On the name of her medical treatment, she charged lakhs of money. She also promised to give my money back, but I have not gotten back a single penny as of now.” The Uttar Pradesh-born pacer was addressed as the reports have claimed.

Whether with the new ball in the powerplay or in the death overs with the old ball, the left-arm pacer was equally incredible and contributed massively. On the other hand, the pacer is yet to make a comment on the entire incident. He was part of the RCB set-up in their maiden IPL-winning campaign. To help the ‘Play Bold’ franchise win the title, he contributed immensely. His death bowling was a vital part behind the Rajat Patidar-led side’s success. He picked up 13 wickets in RCB’s campaign in 15 innings at an economy rate of under 10 with the best figures of 2/18 in an inning.

Last year, he earned his maiden call-up to the national side for the home series against Bangladesh in the longest format, but has yet to make his debut for the country. "I stayed at Yash Dayal's house for 15 days. He even took me on a trip to Ooty. I have been at his home many times and have spent time with his family. Yash Dayal and his family kept raising hopes by giving assurance of marriage," the woman claimed, as reported by Dainik Bhaskar. She also stated that she has connected with another woman who said she was similarly deceived by Dayal.

The woman further alleged, "Yash Dayal has made attempts to manipulate the case with money, but I have full faith in the law. The police have said that Yash Dayal has been sent a notice." She revealed that another woman contacted her on April 17, 2025, and shared proof of Dayal being involved with multiple women, confirming her earlier doubts.

“I Left It to God, But Then His Family Spoke Badly,” Says Complainant

The complainant has claimed that she is aware of at least three other women with whom Dayal had affairs. "I could have walked away, but how would I know he was cheating? He never showed it. I left it to God, but when his family started speaking badly about me, I decided to take legal steps," she said.

"I had left him to God's mercy, but after that Yash Dayal and his family spoke very badly. There is a thing called self-respect in love, which girls lose. I am also fighting for the little girl to whom Yash Dayal did wrong. Yash Dayal is hiding; let him stay hidden. This is what his family and he have done," she added. On the cricket front, Dayal recently lifted the IPL 2025 title with RCB and was also part of India's Test squad in 2024.

She came to know about other relationships when a girl contacted her and showed proof of their bond. She has doubts that Dayal's family was well aware of the incidents and still made fake promises of marriage, the woman said in the interview.

"I could have walked away, but how would I know he was cheating? He never showed it. I left it to God, but when his family started speaking badly about me, I decided to take legal steps," she added. 

"Power, money, and fame are being used to cover this up. But I have full faith in the law."

The left-arm fast-medium bowler has played 43 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He made his IPL debut in 2022 with Gujarat Titans, securing 11 wickets in 9 matches, and contributed to the team's title win in their maiden season. In IPL 2025, he played for RCB, Dayal was retained for the season at a price of INR 5 crores, having taken 13 wickets in 15 matches in the previous season. Overall, he has taken 41 wickets in his IPL career at an average of 33.90 and economy rate of 9.58.
