The 22-year-old South African cricketer Dewald Brevis is in stormy form with the bat. After scoring a record-breaking century in the previous T20I match against the hosts Australia, Brevis continued his striking brilliance in the away T20I series decider on Saturday (August 16).

While the three-match T20I series is standing at 1-1 after the second game, Australian captain Mitchell Marsh chose to field first in the third and final fixture of the series at Cairns.

South Africa once again lost their top-order batters early, as the Proteas were struggling at 49/3 in the seventh over. However, once again, Dewald Brevis and Tristan Stubbs' fourth wicket partnership rescued the visitors. They had a 61-run partnership for the fourth wicket in just 29 balls, where Brevis dominated with the bat.

The right-handed no.4 batter slammed a 22-ball half-century, his second consecutive 50+ score in T20I format, and scored 53 off 26 balls before Glenn Maxwell's excellent catch sent him back to the dug-out. In that impressive innings, he smashed six sixes along with one four.

At the end of the ninth over, South Africa were fighting at 69/3, with a run rate of 7.66. But Brevis changed the atmosphere in the next over, as the run rate jumped to 9.60, as the Proteas scored 96/3 in 10 overs. It was that over where Brevis smashed sixes in all the last four legal deliveries and collected a total of 27 runs from the pacer Aaron Hardie.

Before Hardie delivered an over-height wide delivery, Brevis put him under immense pressure with three consecutive no-look mammoth sixes, which only surprised every cricket fan. After the wide delivery, the youngster ended the over with another over-boundary.

Brevis holds the record: Highest T20I score by South African

In the last game, while South Africa leveled the series after winning by 53 runs, Brevis guided South Africa to their record T20I total against Australia (218/7) with the knock of 125 not out from 56 balls (12 fours and eight sixes), which was the new record for the highest T20I score by a South African.

2025 became a milestone year for the Indian cricket team as they won the much-awaited Champions Trophy, beating New Zealand in the final of the prestigious tournament. It was redemption for men in the Blue Brigade as well after losing the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 against Australia.

India won the T20I World Cup before, but they had yet to win an ICC ODI title. Champions Trophy 2025 was the golden opportunity for the team, and they did it. They defeated New Zealand in the final by 4 wickets. Months after winning the trophy, on the special day of 15 August 2025, Rishabh Pant shared a video where netizens can see how the entire squad reacted in the dressing room after hitting the final runs.

Sharing the video on social media platforms, Pant wrote as a caption, "Happy Independence Day, India. Some moments stay with you forever, and winning for India is at the top of the list. Proud to be Indian."

Fans and spectators only could see India's celebration with them on the field. But they did not know about the recently shared video by Rishabh showing how Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Shami, and other players and staff reacted in the dressing room. Through the video we can see Rohit Sharma, the skipper of the Champions Trophy-winning team, jump in joy and rush to other players in the dressing room and on the ground. Gill too erupted in joy.

On March 9, 2025, New Zealand, batting first, scored 251/7 in the final of the Champions Trophy 2025. India chased down the run successfully and won it by 4 wickets. In the match, Sharma scored 76 off 83, Shreyas Iyer scored 48, and KL Rahul was the third highest scorer of the night for Team India with an unbeaten 34.

A glorious shot from Andre Fletcher to smack Jayden Seales for a huge six during the Falcons vs Patriots CPL 2025 match. The experienced opener has been in phenomenal touch from the beginning of the tournament.

The opener started his CPL 2025 campaign with a hundred and had the aim to continue the form in the following match as well. Chasing a small target of 122 runs, Fletcher decided to play his natural hard-hitting game to finish the match as early as possible. The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the match easily against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons with 30 balls remaining and 6 wickets in hand.

The 37-year-old had the intention to go berserk but could not utilize his plans properly. The right-handed batter scored only 19 off 26, hitting only one six and no boundary. The only over-boundary he hit was against Jayden Seales. The West Indian fast bowler delivered a good-length delivery, angled towards the leg stump. Assuming the line of the delivery was right, Fletcher, using his footwork, went down the track to hoist it for a six with a straight bat.

Allround display, dominating win

Patriots got the dominating win mostly because of their bowling department. Waqar Salamkheil, man of the match, took 4 wickets in his 4-over spell, against 22 runs only. While batting in the second innings, Alick Athanaze did not allow Falcons' bowlers to cause any trouble.

Alick played a controlled and match-winning 28-ball, 37-run innings with three boundaries and a couple of sixes. Maintaining a strike over 8, the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots hit their winning runs in the 15 overs of the second innings.

On Wednesday (August 13), Northern Superchargers claimed an unforgettable thrilling victory against Southern Brave in the Men's Hundred 2025, after the hero of the match, Graham Clark, smashed a last-ball sixer to secure the thrilling win.

After Northern Superchargers captain Harry Brook chose to field first, Southern Brave scored 139/5 in 100 balls. While they were struggling at 26/3, James Coles and Laurie Evans played crucial roles with the knock of 49 not out off 36 balls and 53 off 34 balls, respectively.

In reply, three Northern players scored 20s, and the hero of the game, Graham Clark, scored the highest runs in the innings with 38 not out off 24 balls with three fours and one six. They chased down the target on the final ball after losing seven wickets.

Before the final over of the match, where Northern required 10 off 5 balls, Southern's English fast bowler Jofra Archer bagged two wickets and conceded only one run in the crucial previous over.

The 33-year-old English left-arm fast bowler Tymal Mills delivered the final over of the match. After conceding a single and a four, he delivered two back-to-back dot balls, as Northern required five runs to win on the final ball of the match. It was a wide outside off slower delivery, which Clark had perfect contact and that travelled over the wide long-on for the match-winning six.

The Men's Hundred 2025: Both have eight points

It was the second victory for Northern Superchargers and the first defeat for Southern Brave in the Men's Hundred 2025, as both have recorded two wins and one defeat with eight points after three games.

<![CDATA[[WATCH] 'I don't think it was....' - Michael Atherton and Naseer Hussain rank recently concluded ENG vs IND 2025 Test series]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/videos/i-don-t-think-it-was-michael-atherton-and-naseer-hussain-rank-recently-concluded-eng-vs-ind-2025-test-series/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/videos/i-don-t-think-it-was-michael-atherton-and-naseer-hussain-rank-recently-concluded-eng-vs-ind-2025-test-series/ Thu, 14 Aug 2025 00:45:41 GMT

We just experienced an unforgettable Test series between the hosts England and the visitors India, the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. It was the five-match Test series, where both teams never gave up without putting up their last fight, as the series ended in a 2-2 draw. Recently, former English cricketers Michael Atherton and Naseer Hussain spoke about the series and compared it to one of the greatest Test series the Ashes 2005

Ashes 2005 is a great example of Test cricket

Ashes 2005 is known as one of the greatest Test series in history, which the hosts England won by 2-1 to end their 16-year drought for the Ashes urn. It was a series of legends and high-quality battles in every moment. While it is hard to find a competitive Test series like the Ashes 2005, especially a long Test series, the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 has impressed many cricket experts.

England vs India Test series 2025: Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025

In the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025, both England and India gave everything for the series. Those battles were so intense that the injured cricketers Rishabh Pant and Chris Woakes couldn't put themselves out of the game.

Former English captain Naseer Hussain recently asked his long-time Test teammate Michael Atherton, where the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 could challenge the Ashes 2005, which some have felt. In reply, Atherton refused to agree on it, but he also said that the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 would be one of the best series since the Ashes 2005. Atherton further added that the Ashes 2005 was a higher quality Test series, which can't be compared easily.

Atherton said on the Sky Sports Cricket Podcast, "No, I don't think the quality was as good as 2005. I don't think I'll see a better series than the 2005 Ashes. I just think one team on the rise, one great team on the decline, an emerging team, absolutely great players at the top of their game. But I think probably the best series since '05. I mean, the 2023 Ashes was a fantastic Ashes, wasn't it? But I probably put this one as the best series since 2005 because of those dramatic moments like Woakes and Rishabh Pant and the way the series twisted and turned. So I reckon probably the best series that I've covered since '05."

<![CDATA[WATCH: Rashid Khan's viral snake shot against Birmingham Pheonix in ongoing The Hundred 2025]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/videos/rashid-khan-s-viral-snake-shot-against-birmingham-pheonix-in-ongoing-the-hundred-2025/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/videos/rashid-khan-s-viral-snake-shot-against-birmingham-pheonix-in-ongoing-the-hundred-2025/ Wed, 13 Aug 2025 14:04:44 GMT

Birmingham Phoenix registered their first win of The Hundred 2025, but it was Oval Invincibles' Rashid Khan who grabbed the attention through his outrageous helicopter shot-like stroke to send a yorker deep into the stand.

The unorthodox shot from the Afghanistan international left the crowd and internet in amazement. Though the shot might look like MS Dhoni's helicopter shot, it was not exactly a similar one. Khan, who is a right-handed batsman, positioned himself right in front of the off stump. The ball landed right in front of his legs. The batter was in the exact line of the ball, swinging the blade with raw power to hoist the ball over the mid-wicket cordon to produce the huge over-boundary.

Apart from this shot, Rashid Khan would like to forget the night, as he conceded a staggering 59 runs without taking a wicket after 20 deliveries. It came as Rashid Khan's most underwhelming spell of his entire T20 career, which cost Oval Invincibles a defeat. The thrilling game between these two teams was influenced by the flamboyant innings of Liam Livingston. The England international scored an unbeaten 69 off 27 to edge past the target of 181 despite a late wobble. Batting first, Oval Invincibles scored 180 with the help of Ferreira's 63-run innings.

A night to forget for Rashid Khan

Oval had a good chance to outplay their opponent if they were able to reduce their strike rate. Against Rashid Khan, Livingston showed his muscle strength and shifted the momentum of the game. In his last five deliveries against the batter, Khan conceded 4, 6, 6, 6, and 4 in a brutal sequence.

Despite losing back-to-back wickets during the closing moments of the second innings, the assault from Livingston confirmed the first win of the season for Birmingham Phoenix.

While South Africa thrashed the hosts Australia in the second T20I of the three-match series to level the series (1-1) and end the Aussies' nine-match T20I winning streak. During the second innings of the match, while Australia were chasing a big target, there was a bizarre incident, which made the South African players very shocked.

Dewald Brevis' stormy 125 not out off 56 balls guided Proteas to manage the first innings total of 218/7 in 20 overs. In reply, the hosts Australia were all out for 165 runs, and South Africa won by 53 runs. Due to losing wickets at regular intervals, Australia hardly managed to fight back in the chase.

Corbin Bosch stunned after Mitchell Owen's bizarre bowled-rescue

When Australia were struggling despite scoring close to 10 runs per over, that shocking incident stunned everyone. It was the second ball of the 13th over, when Corbin Bosch was bowling to Mitchell Owen. It was a full-length delivery angling into the off stump, which Owen tried to smash hard but completely missed, and the ball kissed the off-stump. As the ball hit the off-stump, the off-stump bail lit up, but the bail didn't fall, and Owen was very lucky to remain not out.

South African pacer Corbin Bosch and his colleagues were all in shock in that incident, as they couldn't believe that unlucky moment. Even the commentators had the same reactions as the Proteas camp. Proteas cricketer Rassie van der Dussen checked the stumps and gently hit the bail twice, while it only fell during the second time. It was the time when Owen was batting on 6 runs, who only added two more runs before getting out.

Visitors were strong enough during AUS vs SA 2nd T20I

Although it was a very unlucky moment for the Proteas, the visitors comfortably leveled the series, as the hosts couldn't put up any strong fightback in that big T20I chase. South Africa scored their record T20I total against Australia and also clinched their record T20I victory margin (by runs) against Australia.

The recently concluded England tour was one of the memorable and successful tours for the Indian opener KL Rahul, where he played a dependable top-order role for his team. While the fifth Test at The Oval ended in a tense situation, Rahul showed his incredible calmness by revealing his incredible football skills on the field on the final day of the series decider.

The fifth day of The Oval Test is unforgettable, which started with the targets of 35 runs for the hosts England and four wickets for the visitors India to claim a victory. To save the Test series, it was a must-win game for India. Indian pacers Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna both brought their desperate skills and clinched India's narrowest Test win (by runs) after winning by six runs.

Watch KL Rahul's impressive football skills

During that completely tense final day of the series, where every ball was vital, and people couldn't leave their seats, Indian cricketer KL Rahul showed his football skills. After Gus Atkinson guided a delivery back of the wicket, Rahul charged on the ball while the batter had no intention to run. In that comfortable situation, Rahul picked the ball with his right foot and juggled it multiple times impressively before throwing the ball.

Fans enjoyed it very well, while some were also shocked to see a great hidden skill from the dependable top-order Indian batter. Although Rahul has been seen to play football multiple times previously, these skills were too impressive.

KL Rahul was a star in Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025

While the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 ended in a 2-2 series line, Indian cricketer KL Rahul finished as the third leading run-scorer. The right-handed opening batter scored 532 runs in 10 innings with an average of 53.20, including two centuries and two half-centuries. For multiple times in the series, he set a confident base in the Indian innings. He also finished the series with the most catches for India (joint second most catches in the series) with six catches.

Indian pacers put the visitors right back on track in The Oval Test, and it became effectively visible after the Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj dismissed the English legend Joe Root, who had no clue how to handle that delivery.

After India were bowled out for 224 runs, the English openers provided a flying start with a 92-run partnership in just 12.5 overs. But once that partnership was broken, the Indian pacers dominated with the ball and took regular wickets, as the hosts England were struggling at 215/7 at tea.

Joe Root and Harry Brook were fighting hard as they had a 33-run partnership for the fourth wicket, while the Indian pacers were asking questions to the batters. Prasidh Krishna made life difficult for Root, while Mohammed Siraj also tested the second leading run-scorer in Test cricket history.

[WATCH] Mohammed Siraj strikes again to dismiss Jacob Bethell in 5th Test at The Oval

Mohammed Siraj trapped Joe Root

After conceding two fours in the first two balls, Siraj ended the over with the key wicket of Joe Root. Siraj delivered with a scrambled seam while it came quicker to Root, who had no clue, and it hit straight to his front pad. The non-striker end umpire Ahsan Raza had no doubt about that as he raised his finger to give it out.

Root went for a review to check his luck, but it had no chance, as it was a plumb, and the visitors purchased an important wicket to make a comeback in the game. The former English Test captain was dismissed for 29 runs.

The visitors India are trailing the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy by 2-1 as it is their must-win game, which is the final Test of the five-match series. If India can't win the Test, they will lose this series, while they only have the best result chance to draw the Test series by winning the ongoing The Oval Test.

The England vs India 2025 Manchester Test ended on a sour note due to the last-hour handshake drama, and it stretched to the end of the match as the English Test captain Ben Stokes refused to shake his hand with the Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, who played an important role for India to save the Test match.

Before the Manchester Test, which was the fourth game of the five-match Test series between the hosts England and the visitors India (Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025), India were trailing the series by 2-1. So, the visitors can't afford any more defeats in this Test series, while they still need one win to save the Test series.

While the hosts England got a 311-run lead at the end of both teams' first innings of the Manchester Test, India were in danger of losing the Test series before the last game of the Test series. The situation became more complex for the visitors, after they were 0/2 in the first over. However, opener KL Rahul, skipper Shubman Gill first controlled the early situation with a strong 188-run partnership for the third wicket. While Rahul scored 90 runs, the Indian captain scored 103 runs.

Manchester Test ended with Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar's centuries

Later, the middle-order batters Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja saved India with the 203-run partnership for the unbroken fifth wicket, as India finished the match with their second innings total of 425/4. Both Sundar (101*) and Jadeja (107*) completed their centuries, which were their maiden and fifth Test centuries, respectively. However, their centuries happened after the final hour handshake drama on the field.

As per the rules, the on-field umpires called the start of the last hour, which meant 15 overs left for the match. As the match had a dead end, English captain Ben Stokes called the Indian batters to shake hands to officially draw the Test match. At that time, Jadeja was at 89 not out, while Sundar was batting on 80 not out, who was looking at his maiden international century. Both batters clearly wanted to play to complete their centuries, but the English cricketers were unhappy with that decision.

While both batters completed their respective centuries, the match officially ended after Sundar's maiden Test hundred. At the end of the match, the English Test captain Ben Stokes didn't shake hands with both the Indian cricketers, while it also seemed that Jadeja wanted handshaking, but the opponent skipper had no interest.
