He was superb at the opening spot for the RCB side as they made some brisky starts inside the powerplay.

Meanwhile, once the door closed, the right-handed batter looked at the mirror and tried a few ways to gyms to do the workload.

Watch the video here:

That was a crazy scene as the 37-year-old later tried a few of his cricketing shots with the imaginary bat as he flicked the leg sided delivery on the leg side before trying his benchmark cover-drive, which was fabulous to see. He was smiling at something before relazing that he was under the observation of the camera.

The batter ended up taking the camera out by the time he left the lift.

We're in the second game of a three-game series, and the hosts, West Indies Women, will be under pressure to mount an impressive comeback over Australia Women. The Australians dominated the first game of the series, winning by 43 runs. The West Indies will try to make an explosive recovery and put on a better performance to level the series. Australia Women have ruled the West Indies Women, as they have with the majority of teams. The Australians have won the last nine of ten games between the two teams and will look to extend that streak with another big win. The West Indies have struggled over the last year with a string of failures, and it could be interesting to see if the squad can put up better results in this game.

Ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026), Virat Kohli reveals his most memorable moment with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The star batter has been with the franchise since the inception of the league. Virat was only 19 when the franchise tournament kicked off.

On March 28, the 19th edition of the IPL will commence, and Virat, who is now 37, will play another season for the Bengaluru-based franchise. It goes without saying that after playing so many years with only one franchise, the batter accumulated extensive experience. He is among the few cricketers how has been playing from the beginning and is still active as a national team cricketer. From the pages of the album, which RCB-related frame is most valuable for Virat?

What did Virat Kohli say about his favorite RCB memory?

During a recent event, the cornerstone of RCB spoke about his most memorable memory with the team in the Indian Premier League. The question was very easy for him to answer; it was the maiden trophy-winning moment for the franchise.

After waiting for almost 18 years, RCB claimed their first-ever IPL trophy, with Virat Kohli as the Best Player of the Match in the Final. In the summit clash of the IPL 2025 season, in a close-fought match, Royal Challengers Bengaluru outplayed Punjab Kings and hoisted the trophy.

The frames capturing the celebrations went viral on social media instantly. Former cricketers and RCB legends like Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers were there at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to become a part of the moment.

Kohli and the former South Africa batter, AB de Villiers, share a close relationship. The Indian batting maestro stated that he will never forget the moment when he burst out of joy with Villiers as soon as RCB claimed the trophy.

“It's not difficult at all, the final was very memorable, there are moments within the game as well - when we got an important wicket, I was fielding at the boundary - AB De Villiers was standing outside, and we both celebrated in the same emotion,” Virat Kohli told the media.

Top moments of Virat Kohli with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru over the years

There are multiple memorable moments of Virat Kohli with RCB. Some of the instances may be the most common among cricket fans. On March 24, 2016, Virat Kohli registered his first IPL century with the franchise. Against the Gujarat Lions, the right-handed batter, who came to open the innings, remained unbeaten for 100 off 63. Though it was not enough for them to defeat the Gujarat Lions.

So far, IPL 2016 remains Virat Kohli’s finest IPL season. During the campaign, on May 18, when RCB was up against Punjab Kings, the batter performed with a stitch on his head, and confirmed a win by scoring 113 (50).

Fans react to Virat Kohli’s emotional revelation

Fans reacted as soon as the clip of Virat Kohli’s statement was shared on social media platforms. Many could easily relate to what Virat mentioned about his most memorable moment with RCB. Like Virat, for countless RCB fans, the maiden trophy-winning moment is priceless.

“That moment no one can forget. We can't overcome that moment. How can he? That's such a wholesome moment,” one of the netizens wrote on a ‘X’ post.

New Zealand will face South Africa in the fourth T20I of the South Africa tour of New Zealand 2026, which will be held at Sky Stadium in Wellington. The five-match T20I series is at a crucial stage with a must-win clash in Wellington for the inexperienced Proteas.

The Blackcaps have responded strongly with two commanding performances to take a 2-1 lead after their humbling in the first game. In Hamilton, New Zealand defeated South Africa by 68 runs, followed by an eight-wicket win in Auckland, demonstrating their batting depth and bowling accuracy. South Africa faces a significant challenge. Their batting has lacked consistency, and their bowlers have struggled to defend totals due to the failures of their batters.

<![CDATA[Kolkata Knight Riders suffer fresh blow as another Indian pacer ruled out of Indian Premier League 2026]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/kolkata-knight-riders-suffer-fresh-blow-as-another-indian-pacer-ruled-out-of-indian-premier-league-2026/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/kolkata-knight-riders-suffer-fresh-blow-as-another-indian-pacer-ruled-out-of-indian-premier-league-2026/ Sat, 21 Mar 2026 19:40:21 GMT

Three-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders suffered another blow to their pace attack as Indian seamer Akash Deep was ruled out for at least eight weeks due to a stress reaction in his lower back on Saturday, effectively ruling him out of the Indian Premier League.

The injury also raises doubts about his availability for the one-off Test against Afghanistan in early June.

Akash Deep was not part of the team’s preparatory camp and was instead at the BCCI Centre of Excellence for rehabilitation. His absence adds to the growing worries in KKR’s fast-bowling department. The 29-year-old Bengal pacer, last seen in the Ranji Trophy semifinal against Jammu and Kashmir, looked short of full fitness, bowling only 13 overs in the first innings and fewer than seven in the second.

Which Indian pacer is ruled out for the Kolkata Knight Riders

Akash Deep is the latest player to join Kolkata Knight Riders growing injury list, which already includes Indian pacer Harshit Rana and their ₹18-crore Sri Lankan recruit Matheesha Pathirana, further weakening the team’s fast-bowling options.

"Akash Deep has a stress reaction in his lower back. It has come back, and it might take 8-12 weeks to heal. He will not play in the IPL and is very unlikely to be selected against Afghanistan,” a BCCI source told PTI.

He has been undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru and did not join KKR’s preparatory camp, which started on Wednesday. "It will take time for healing, adapting to workload, and completing Return To Play protocols. The estimated recovery is about 10 weeks, but it could take longer," the board source added.

Injury concerns pile up for Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of IPL 2026

Kolkata Knight Riders, who finished eighth in their title defence last season, are facing a growing injury crisis ahead of IPL 2026. The team is already without Harshit Rana, who is recovering from a ligament strain in his right knee sustained during India’s T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up match against South Africa. Rana missed the tournament entirely, and his continued absence is a significant blow given his contribution to the team over recent seasons.

Left-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman was released earlier this year following a BCCI directive, prompting KKR to bring in Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani as his replacement. Meanwhile, Matheesha Pathirana is undergoing rehabilitation with the Sri Lankan Cricket Board and is expected to be match-fit by mid-April.

Speaking at KKR’s pre-season press conference, Abhishek Nayar highlighted Rana’s absence as a major loss and noted that the leadership group is evaluating other bowlers to fill the gap. With both Rana and Pathirana unavailable for at least part of the tournament, KKR’s pace attack faces challenges in terms of both player availability and experience, leaving the franchise to adapt carefully ahead of the IPL season.

Replacement options for Kolkata Knight Riders before IPL 2026 kickoff

The Ajinkya Rahane-led franchise has been actively scouting replacements for their injured pacers. KKR held trials featuring several IPL-experienced fast bowlers, including Akash Madhwal, Navdeep Saini, Simarjeet Singh, KM Asif, and Sandeep Warrier.

Among them, Madhwal, who caught attention with a stunning 5/5 for the Mumbai Indians in the 2023 Eliminator, appears to be leading the race, though the franchise has yet to officially announce a replacement.

With Akash Deep and Harshit Rana unavailable, KKR will now have to rely heavily on their remaining domestic options, including Vaibhav Arora, Kartik Tyagi, and a fit-again Umran Malik.

KKR are set to begin their IPL 2026 campaign against the Mumbai Indians on March 29 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. They will then face Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 2 at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, followed by a clash against last year’s finalists, Punjab Kings, on April 6, also at Eden Gardens. In their fourth match, KKR will take on Lucknow Super Giants on April 9 at Eden Gardens.

New Zealand will take on South Africa in the fourth T20I of the five-match series on March 22 at Sky Stadium in Wellington. The hosts currently lead the series 2-1 and will look to move closer to winning it, while South Africa must win to stay alive in the contest.

New Zealand delivered a strong performance in the third T20I to take the lead in the series. Their bowlers set the tone early, reducing South Africa to 46 for 5. Lockie Ferguson and Ben Sears were excellent with the new ball, while Mitchell Santner also contributed with two wickets. South Africa struggled to build partnerships, with George Linde scoring 23 and Nqobani Mokoena adding 26 late runs to take the team to 136.

In reply, New Zealand chased the target comfortably. Devon Conway played a quick knock of 39, while Tom Latham anchored the innings with an unbeaten 63. The hosts reached the target in just 17 overs with eight wickets in hand. With confidence on their side, New Zealand will now aim to continue their strong form.

NZ vs SA: Pitch Report

The Sky Stadium pitch usually helps batters because the drop-in surface stays quite flat. Fast bowlers may get some help in the early overs. As the match goes on, the pitch becomes easier to bat on, giving players more time to play shots. Spinners can be useful later. The average first innings score in Wellington is about 165, so using the powerplay well is important.

While the Indian Premier League 2026 is just a week away from the first ball, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) team members visited Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, including the skipper Rishabh Pant and owner Sanjiv Goenka.

Lucknow Super Giants are among the new IPL teams, and they have proved their competitiveness on the field.

In their first two IPL seasons (2022 and 2023), LSG finished in third position in both the points tables to qualify for the Playoffs. In both seasons, they were eliminated from the Eliminators. However, in the last two seasons (2024 and 2025), they failed to qualify for the Playoffs, while finishing in seventh position in both editions.

Why Lucknow Super Giants visited Ram Mandir before IPL 2026

The entire LSG team visited Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya simply to get blessings before starting their journey in the IPL 2026.

Rishabh Pant’s role and expectations in IPL 2026

Rishabh Pant is set to return to his leadership role for the Lucknow Super Giants for the IPL 2026. Indian cricket fans haven't seen him in international white-ball cricket since August 2024, while he served for the national team last time in November 2025, when India were facing South Africa in a Test match. So, the IPL 2026 can be a good platform for him to knock on the white-ball team door once again.

In the last IPL season (2025), skipper Rishabh Pant scored 269 runs in 13 innings with an average of 24.45 and a strike rate of 133.16, including one century and one half-century.

West Indies Women and Australia Women will clash in the second T20I of the three-match series on March 22 at Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown. Australia Women currently lead the series 1-0, and they will try to seal the series by winning the second game, while West Indies Women will try to stay in the contest.

West Indies Women had a tough start to the series as they lost the first game while chasing 165 runs. West Indies Women's batting failed to handle pressure and managed to score only 121/6. Qiana Joseph was the top scorer with 45 runs, while Stafanie Taylor added 28. With the ball, Deandra Dottin impressed by taking three wickets, and Chinelle Henry picked up two. However, the team could not keep up with the required run rate, especially during the middle overs. The hosts will now need a stronger performance in this must-win match.

Australia Women, on the other hand, started the series with a strong win by 43 runs. Beth Mooney was the top performer with the bat, scoring 79 runs, while Ellyse Perry scored 36 to help her team post 164 on the board. Their bowlers were in command throughout the match, with Alana King and Georgia Wareham leading the bowling department. The spin pair claimed five wickets and the West Indies’ batters struggled to get runs easily. Australia will now look to continue their dominance and clinch the series.

The pitch in Kingstown usually helps batters in both innings. Early in the match, bowlers can get some support from the surface. But as the game goes on, batting becomes easier, and players get more time to play their shots. The outfield is quick, so well-timed shots often reach the boundary. The average first innings score here is around 155 to 170 runs.

New Zealand Women currently lead the series 2-1 and will try to seal the series by winning the next game, while the South Africa Women team has to win to stay in the tournament.

New Zealand Women made a strong comeback in the third match after losing the second game. They chased down a target of 150 runs comfortably and took the lead in the series. Although they lost early wickets, Amelia Kerr and Sophie Devine steadied the innings, while Maddy Green provided a solid finish. Devine remained unbeaten on 55, and Green added 34*, helping the team secure a six-wicket victory. With both bat and ball performing well, the hosts will aim to continue their momentum and close out the series.

South Africa Women, on the other hand, are under pressure after their recent defeat. In the last game, they were able to score 149 for 7, courtesy of Laura Wolvaardt's 37 and Kayla Reyneke's 34. But their bowlers couldn’t defend the total and New Zealand went after it with ease. With only two matches left, South Africa will need a strong all-round effort to level the series.

NZ-W vs SA-W: Pitch Report

Sky Stadium’s pitch is usually good for batting because of the drop-in surface, which stays fairly flat. Fast bowlers may get some help early on, especially in the first few overs. As the match goes on, the pitch becomes easier to bat on, giving players more time to play shots. Spinners can become useful later. The average first innings score in Wellington is around 165, so using the powerplay well is important.
