Trailing by 2-1 in the series, the talking point has been whether Jasprit Bumrah, the visitors’ premier pacer, would remain available to be part of the next game. ‘I think we take for granted how lucky we are to have someone like that. I know he doesn't always have the returns that you expect from a fast bowler, but in terms of heart, he's like a lion. Bumrah indeed holds a key figure for the Shubman Gill-led side in the series. But, it’s equally true that Siraj always raises his hand to bowl long spells and come after the batters even in the heat. The right-arm pacer has already bowled 109 overs in the ongoing World Test Championship 2025-27, and that would be vital for the visitors to allow him to play the next two games.

‘He's not someone to shy away from his workload, so it makes it even more important for us to manage his workload and make sure that he is fit to give his best.’ Ryan explained about Siraj, who is currently the leading wicket-taker of the series with 13 wickets in three games at an average of 32. Once he keeps bowling from one end for a longer period, it will be easier for the others to rotate.

It will be a huge challenge for the Blue Brigade to make a solid comeback at Old Trafford, a place where they are yet to win a single red-ball game in nine attempts.
