Former India star analyzes Pakistan's defeat.

It was in the past when there was so much anticipation and excitement around the India vs Pakistan clash in any tournament of the year. However, things have changed in recent past. In this modern era, India is too strong for the opposition to overcome in the skills of the batting, bowling, and fielding departments. This Asia Cup 2025 contest at the Dubai International Stadium was another example of it.

The former Indian opener, Aakash Chopra, has pointed out the massive gulf between the two sides. He reckoned that on the same surface, the batting was the huge difference between the two sides. While Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma found it easy, Pakistan’s batters only had sweeps in the bag.

“I don’t want to be disrespectful at all. But it’s like India Seniors and India A. I mean, that is the Gulf. And with absolute due respect, because, at the same time, I am telling that Abrar bowled really well, and also Saim Ayub, with the ball that he bowled to Shubman Gill, especially, and the one that dismissed Tilak Verma, that was outstanding.Chopra discussed on ESPNcricinfo during a recent discussion.

Opting for the toss, Pakistan posted 127/9 in their allotted 20 overs, which came on the back of Shaheen Afridi’s 33 unbeaten runs. In reply, along with Abhishek, Suryakumar Yadav played a fine innings to complete the chase by seven wickets with 25 balls to spare.

“There is something in the surface, but when you see the ease with which the Indian batters actually bat, you see a gulf, you see the difference. And it’s not as if Abhishek Sharma has played over 100 T20Is. It’s not the case. He is quite young in that respect.Chopra added.

“And for Tilak Verma, he might have climbed to the second ranking, but he is also not someone who has played 70 T20Is. So, I think it’s courtesy of the IPL, the kind of exposure that our kids have, there is a massive gulf between the two teams. The renowned commentator concluded.
