Vaibhav Suryavanshi continues aggressive batting with huge six in AUS U19 vs IND U19 Youth ODI.

With the India U-19 side locking horns with Australia for the first of the three-match youth ODI series at Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane, the focus was on the left-handed, young, and dynamic opening batter, Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He had an excellent start in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Rajasthan Royals.

Suryavanshi, who smashed 252 runs in seven innings of the IPL 2025 at an average of 36 and a strike rate of 206.55 with one fifty and a century, looked promising coming into the ODI series against Australia down under. During the opening Under-19 game, his aggression has gone viral on social media platforms.

It was a short delivery from the right-arm Australia pacer at the body of the batter, who pulled the short ball over the fine leg region for a huge six as the ball nearly flew off the ground. That was a magnificent shot from the 14-year-old, who has cracked records in such a short span of his career.

Earlier in the innings, Australia found themselves struggling for 35/4 in the ninth over of the innings before they somehow strolled their way to 225/9 in their allotted 50 overs of the first innings. John James clubbed a fine unbeaten knock of 77 runs in 68 balls with the help of 113.24, with the help of six boundaries and one six. Tom Hogan also smashed 41 runs in the innings.

In reply, Suryavanshi drilled 38 runs in 22 balls at a strike rate of 172.73 with seven boundaries and one six. Vedant Trivedi and wicket-keeper batter, Abhigyan Kundu, celebrated a 150+ run stand for the fourth wicket with respective half-centuries to find themselves close to victory.

The second clash of the series will take place on September 24, before the final game is on September 26 at the same venue. The Ian Healy Oval will also host the first four-day unofficial Test from September 30, while for the second and final game, the action will move to Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay from October 07.
