The South Africa Women’s team (SA-W) will face the Bangladesh Women’s team (BAN-W) in match number 14 of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 on Monday, October 13, at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

The Proteas are confident after winning back-to-back victories over India and New Zealand, having made a remarkable recovery from their opening loss against England. Last time they played, South Africa showed resilience to chase down a target of 252 runs against India, winning with three wickets and seven balls remaining. Captain Laura Wolvaardt led the way, while Chloe Tryon and Nadine de Klerk wrapped up another great victory in the end.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh have suffered two consecutive losses to qualify comfortably from their first match against Pakistan. The Nigar Sultana-led side have struggled to find a rhythm especially batting, and have endured two massive defeats to England and New Zealand. Bangladesh will need a strong bowling performance and greater middle-order support as they going into a match against a confident South Africa.

In an exciting match at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam, Australia Women created history by pursuing India's massive total of 330 runs. The Aussies emerged victorious by three wickets with an over to spare, making it the highest successful chase in Women's ODI history. Captain Alyssa Healy's brilliant innings scored 142 off 107 balls and was the standout performance of the match, leading the Australians to a record-breaking win.

Coming into the contest, India Women had two wins from three matches, while Australia maintained an unbeaten run. Batting first, India’s openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal gave the hosts a perfect start with a 155-run partnership. Mandhana scored a blistering 80 off 66 balls and became the fastest woman to reach 5000 ODI runs, while Rawal anchored the innings with 75. However, after a strong position at 192/1, India’s middle order failed to capitalise, folding for 330 in 48.5 overs. Annabel Sutherland’s five-wicket haul (5/40) was crucial in restricting India.

In response, Australia started confidently. Healy and Phoebe Litchfield made 85 runs together as the Indian bowlers came under pressure. After Litchfield was out for 40, Healy continued her assault on the Indian bowlers, reaching her hundred in 84 balls. Ellyse Perry played in the middle order, not out with 47 after returning from injury. Despite a few wickets in the end from Shree Charani and Deepti Sharma, Australia maintained their composure, clinching the match with six balls remaining. Healy finished with an outstanding performance, earning her the Player of the Match award. Below are the main reasons for the India Women defeat:

1. Late Batting Collapse

India were well set at 294 for 5 but lost their remaining six wickets for a meager 36 runs. This collapse deprived them of at least 30–40 runs that might have turned the game. Sutherland's astute bowling (5/40) shattered India's tailenders and prevented them from scoring a large total.

2. Alyssa Healy's Match-Winning Masterclass

Alyssa Healy was unstoppable, playing a captain’s innings that transformed the game. Her 142 runs scored from 107 balls had 21 fours and 3 sixes, and she kept the scoreboard moving while applying tremendous pressure on India. Despite regular wickets falling at the opposite end of the pitch, Healy exhibited fearless stroke play and game awareness, keeping Australia always in control in the run chase.

3. Unsteady Bowling and Perry's Serene Comeback

India's bowlers began well and took crucial wickets but were unable to keep the pressure constant. Although Shree Charani (3/41) and Deepti Sharma attempted to shift the balance, the batting depth of Australia depth neutralized their efforts. The game-changer was when Ellyse Perry came back to bat after being retired hurt, making a serene 47* from 52 balls to take her team through. Her consistent hand during the last overs guaranteed Australia's triumphant historic run chase and India's second loss of the tournament.

In a sensational match during the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, Australia Women achieved the highest-ever run chase to endure a 3 wicket-pull knockover against India Women in Match 13 of the tournament, held at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. The Australians caught India Women at 330, the highest-ever target in Women’s ODI history, to produce a sensational conclusion, with one over to spare.

India batted first and was off to a dream start with openers Smriti Mandhana (80) and Pratika Rawal (75) building a solid 155-run partnership. Their dominant stand laid the ground for a huge total, but a sudden middle-order collapse saw India lose six wickets for a mere 36 runs to reach 330. Annabel Sutherland was the star with the ball for Australia, taking her first five-wicket haul (5/40), while Sophie Molineux was ably supported by 3/75.

Alyssa Healy's stunning 142 off 107 deliveries, the record highest by an Indian-opponent batter in the Women's World Cup, spearheaded Australia's chase. Even after Ellyse Perry's brief retirement hurt, she returned to seal the deal with a 47 not out, leading her team home in style. Shree Charani (3/41) and Amanjot Kaur (2/68) battled hard for India, but the depth of Australian batting and Alyssa Healy's brilliance were too much to handle.

IND-W vs AUS-W: Who Said What?

Alyssa Healy (Player of the Match):

“Really proud of the group. Things got a little tight, but our belief got us through. We pulled things back with the ball; otherwise, we could’ve been chasing 360. Charani bowled really well; we tried to limit her damage. Overall, an incredible team effort to chase down 330.”

Harmanpreet Kaur (India Women Captain):

“We started really well and thought we could add 30-40 more runs. The pitch changed in the end, and we couldn’t capitalize in the last few overs, that cost us. The openers were brilliant again, but our middle-order couldn’t finish strong. We’ll discuss and come up with a better approach. This combination has given us success before; two bad games won’t change that.”

Alyssa Healy (Australia Women Captain):

“A great result. To chase 330 in a 50-over game is a new territory for us. We showed belief and composure. Getting a good start was crucial, Litchfield took the pressure off me, and we maintained the run rate. Sutherland was the pick of our bowlers; she identified the right lengths and executed perfectly. Partnerships were key today, and having Perry walk in at 30* was cheeky but vital. There are some cramp worms going around, so we’ll take the rest before the next game.”

Australia Women suffered a big setback in the 13th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 when their star all-rounder Ellyse Perry walked off the field due to a hamstring injury. Perry was batting at 32 off 40 balls when she overextended on a front-foot drive and immediately signalled for the team physio. After assessment, she left the field, showing visible discomfort, leaving a gap in Australia’s middle order.

Earlier, India Women posted a strong total of 330 runs. Openers Pratika Rawal (75) and Smriti Mandhana (80) had put on a 155-run opening partnership that gave India a strong foundation. Harleen Deol (38) and Jemimah Rodrigues (33) then added crucial runs later, enabling India to post a challenging target. Australia began their chase in good style with an 85-run opening stand between Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield before Dee Perry's injury altered the momentum.

Perry’s injury sent shockwaves through the Australian camp, especially given her recent fitness struggles. Earlier this year, during a bilateral series in India, the 33-year-old had also retired hurt due to a calf issue. Captain Alyssa Healy had previously downplayed those concerns, calling them minor, but Perry’s latest setback has reignited worries over her fitness ahead of crucial World Cup fixtures.

Perry’s Absence Hurts Australia’s Momentum

After Perry left the field, Australia struggled in the middle order. Despite Alyssa Healy scoring a century, wickets fell quickly at the other end. Beth Mooney went for 4 and Annabel Sutherland went for 0, making things tough for the chase.

At the end of the 31st over, Australia were 202/3, needing 129 more runs to chase down India. Perry's absence could have a big impact on Australia's chances of doing well in this match and at the Women's World Cup 2025 overall, as the team would miss her experience and skill in the middle order.

The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 continues with India Women (IND W) facing Australia Women (AUS W) in Match No. 13 at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, October 12.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur's side has just come from their first loss of the campaign by losing to South Africa by three wickets in a very close match. Even with the defeat, the hosts are currently third on the table with two victories from three games, and they will want to get back to winning ways infront of the home crowd. India will rely heavily on Smriti Mandhana and Jemimah Rodrigues for stability, and Deepti Sharma's all-round contribution will be crucial.

In the meantime, defending champions Australia continue to show their strength. After a shaky start in the opening match against Pakistan, Beth Mooney's magnificent century propelled them to a remarkable 107-run victory. The Aussies have since been unbeaten and appear to be well tempered under the leadership of Alyssa Healy. Notably, India and Australia played a three-match ODI series before the World Cup, and the Australians won the series 2-1.

<![CDATA['We Know How Much India Wants to...' – Alyssa Healy warns India ahead of IND-W vs AUS-W ICC Women's World Cup 2025 clash]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/we-know-how-much-india-wants-to-alyssa-healy-warns-india-ahead-of-ind-w-vs-aus-w-icc-women-s-world-cup-2025-clash/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/we-know-how-much-india-wants-to-alyssa-healy-warns-india-ahead-of-ind-w-vs-aus-w-icc-women-s-world-cup-2025-clash/ Sat, 11 Oct 2025 19:17:50 GMT

The India–Australia rivalry in women’s cricket has grown into one of the sport’s fiercest contests, and Aussie skipper Alyssa Healy believes Sunday’s Women’s World Cup 2025 clash in Vizag will add another exciting chapter. India might be feeling the pressure after their loss to South Africa, but Healy made it clear that Australia is not coming to play nice. “India and Australia play each other a lot these days, so the rivalry has really blossomed. We know how much India wants to beat Australia, and we're equally driven to dominate here. That contest has become fierce over the years,” she told JioStar.

Over the last few years, India Women and Australia Women have battled fiercely across formats. From Harmanpreet Kaur’s fireworks in the 2017 World Cup semifinal to India nearly pulling off a historic ODI series win last month, drama has always followed these encounters. India, however, enters this match a bit wounded, with repeated top-order collapses costing them momentum. Still, as Healy acknowledges, India at home is always a strong contender, especially when motivated to prove a point.

Despite Australia being seen as tournament favourites, Healy played down the tag while expressing confidence in her team. “It's news to me that people consider us favourites for this tournament. I think it should actually favour India to take the trophy at home. They're really comfortable in their own conditions and are in a great place to challenge us,” she said.

Healy Confident Ahead of High-Pressure Clash

Healy’s quiet confidence is rooted in experience, reminding herself and her team of Australia’s strong World Cup record, especially in India. “I was reminded before coming here that Australia has never lost a World Cup in India, so no pressure whatsoever! I have really fond memories of the 2013 World Cup, where I was a drinks runner at the Cricket Club of India,” she added.

As the defending champions walk out at Vizag, it will be a high-stakes clash between two heavyweights: one aiming to retain its crown and the other desperate to claim it. The rivalry continues to intensify, promising a thrilling contest with sparks sure to fly on the field.

India Women (IND W) will play against South Africa Women (SA W) in Match No. 10 of the ICC Women's World Cup 202 on Thursday, October 9, at 3:00 PM IST at the ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. The hosts have got off to a fantastic start to their campaign with two wins, sitting comfortably in the top half of the points table. Harmanpreet Kaur's Indian team would like to continue this thrilling run and solidify its potential to qualify for the semi-finals.

South Africa began their tournament with a heavy 10-wicket loss to England but bounced back with a win over New Zealand in Indore. The former Indian captain, Mithali Raj, will get a stand named after her at the ACA-VDCA stadium in Visakhapatnam on October 12, along with the Indian and Andhra Pradesh wicket-keeper batter, Ravi Kalpana, will also have a stand named after her name on that day. It’s the day when the Blue Brigade will face Australia in the ODI World Cup clash.

Mithali Raj is the leading run-getter in the history of the Women’s ODIs. The Indian batter smashed 7805 runs at an average of 50.68 and a strike rate of 66.19 with the help of 64 fifties and seven centuries at the best score of unbeaten 125 runs. The Rajasthan-born also cracked 2364 runs in the shortest format with 17 fifties.

“The ACA’s tribute to Mithali Raj and Raavi Kalpana reflects a deep commitment to honoring the trailblazers who have redefined women’s cricket in India while inspiring the next generation to dream bigger.” The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) expressed in a statement.

Mithali Raj and Raavi Kalpana to have stands named after them at ACA-VDCA stadium

In the past, there were stands named after only men’s cricketers, despite the incredible contribution of the women’s players in the game. The current vice-captain, Smriti Mandhana, requested during a fireside chat with the minister, Nara Lokesh, at a ‘Breaking Boundaries’ event in August this year.

“Smriti Mandhana’s thoughtful suggestion captured a wider public sentiment. Translating that idea into immediate action reflects our collective commitment to gender parity and to acknowledging the trailblazers of women’s cricket.” Lokesh expressed.

In November last year, Raj was selected as the mentor of Andhra’s women’s cricket team, with her primary responsibilities including nurturing and scouting the young talents across the state. Kalpana, on the other hand, represented the national side in seven ODIs between 2015 and 2016, with her last game coming against Sri Lanka at Ranchi nearly a decade ago.

<![CDATA[IPL 2025: DC vs SRH - A Head to Head breakdown]]> https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/ipl-2025-dc-vs-srh-a-head-to-head-breakdown/ https://www.cricketwinner.com/cricket-news/ipl-2025-dc-vs-srh-a-head-to-head-breakdown/ Sat, 29 Mar 2025 16:06:39 GMT

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is at its peak, and one of the most awaited games is the faceoff between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The two teams have recently showcased great possibility with their line-up and have indeed had fantastic matches previously. So, you will love this clash for sure.

Head-to-Head Record

DC and SRH have regularly been on the ground for the IPL, where SRH has a good but little lead over DC:

 • Matches Played: 24
 • SRH Wins: 13
 • DC Wins: 10
 • No Result: 1

The head-to-head score is at the point where the two teams have played 24 games, and the situation is as follows: 13 wins for Sunrisers Hyderabad, 10 wins for the Capitals, and 1 match was without a result. The early stage of IPL witnessed a lot of victories for Sunrisers Hyderabad over Delhi Capitals, but the balance of power in this regard has slightly shifted in the direction of the Capitals in the later seasons.

Notable Matches in DC vs SRH History

IPL 2024 – Last Encounter (April 20, 2024)

 • SRH: 266/7 (20 overs)
 • DC: 199 all out (19.1 overs)
 • Result: SRH won by 67 runs.

The record was assigned a figure with Sunrisers Hyderabad successfully breaking it through Travis Head’s 89 off 32 balls and Abhishek Sharma’s 46 from 12. The opponents, in their turn, could not resist the score, as they were only able to make Jake Fraser-McGurk’s 65 still more before they surrendered to SRH for the day.

IPL 2021 Playoffs – Qualifier 2 (October 10, 2021)

 • DC: 172/5 (20 overs)
 • SRH: 172/8 (20 overs)
 • Result: DC won in Super Over.

The match that climaxed was something that will be remembered, as it was a tense game between DC and SRH that went to a Super Over, where the former won, majorly because Kagiso Rabada could not be hit and Rishabh Pant finished the game with a four.

IPL 2018 Final (May 27, 2018)

 • SRH: 178/6 (20 overs)
 • DC (then DD): 179/3 (18.3 overs)
 • Result: DC won by 7 wickets.

In the brink-of-winner-takes-all final DC ousted SRH through Shreyas Iyer’s captain’s knock of 62 off 39 balls, who was instrumental in their winning their first-ever IPL title.

While SRH has been a stronger side, undefeated in the competition, DC’s recent performances have been astounding, showing they are resilient. SRH’s batting line-up, if it clicks, may dominate, but DC’s bowlers are equally capable of doing some damage.
