In the crucial encounter in the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, where the hosts India Women are facing the defending and seven-time champions Australia Women at Vizaq on Sunday (October 12), India Women set a record total against Australia Women in the tournament's history.

Indian openers set up 155-run partnership

After Australia Women sent the hosts to bat first, India Women got a dream start with the 155-run partnership for the opening wicket. Both the Indian openers, Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana scored strong half-centuries, as they scored 75 and 80 runs, respectively. The next batters also got starts, but couldn't capitalise those starts to big scores. While the skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored 22 runs, Harleen Deol (38), Jemimah Rodrigues (33), and Richa Ghosh (32) all lost their wickets at 30s.

  • It was the third-highest total for a home team in the history of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup. England Women are the top two record holders in this list with 377/7 and 373/5 against Pakistan Women and South Africa Women, respectively, both of which they achieved in the 2017 edition.
  • It was the eighth-highest total in the history of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup.
