Opener Sarthak Ranjan was the star for the Strikers, smashing a brilliant 100 off 58 balls with 7 sixes and 8 fours. He got good support from Arjun Rapria, who stayed unbeaten on 47 from 23 balls and gave the innings a late push. Despite a great century from Sarthak Ranjan (100 off 58) and a blazing 47 off 23 from Arjun Rapria, Strikers managed to get 199/6 in their 20 overs. The Tigers made light work of the chase, reaching 200/4 in 20 overs, with Lakshay Thareja’s unbeaten 80 off 48 leading the way. Below are the main reasons for the North Delhi Strikers' defeat:

1. Lack of Support for Sarthak Ranjan

Ranjan’s 100 was the standout knock, but no one else stood tall apart from Arjun Rapria’s quick 47. Arnay Bugga (14 off 11) and others fell cheaply, leaving the innings heavily reliant on one man. Despite Ranjan’s brilliance, the total of 199/6 was always under par against a powerful Tigers’ lineup.

2. Inability to Contain the Tigers’ Top Order

The bowlers struggled to break the top order of the Tigers, as Lakshay Thareja (80 off 48)* and Dhruv Kaushik (41 off 25) dealt the blow early. Himmat Singh (34 off 22) added to the firepower on a good batting surface, ensuring NDT was always on the front foot. Without early wickets, NDS very quickly lost their chances of defending a total of 199.

3. Ineffective Bowling Strategy

Although skipper Vaibhav Kandpal was good with 2/19 in 4 overs, others were very expensive. Siddhartha Solanki (1/48) and Prabhjot Singh (1/38) were poor and were severely punished under pressure as NDT batting found boundaries consistently. With no effective bowling variations, NDT chase the target comfortably.

Outer Delhi Warriors bounced back strongly, chasing a huge target to beat North Delhi Strikers by 7 wickets. North Delhi put up 193 runs, with Vaibhav Kandpal smashing 73 from 40 balls and Arjun Rapria scoring 33 from 19. But regular wickets meant they were bowled out before reaching 200.

Kandpal played a brilliant knock and Rapria added quick runs, but the team kept losing wickets and couldn’t finish well. The chase was all about Priyansh Arya’s explosive 76 from just 30 balls. He got good support from Rishabh Drall (38), while Keshav Dabas (46) and Dhruv Singh (26) guided the team home with ease and 12 balls left.

North Delhi Strikers were beaten by 7 wickets by Outer Delhi Warriors in game 28 of DPL 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Starting, NDS scored 193, where Vaibhav Kandpal scored 73 off 40 balls. But their middle order seemed to have missed the opportunity that was set by the openers due to lack of proper implementation. In response, ODW managed to hit the target in only 18 overs, using Priyansh Arya’s bright knock.

1. Lackluster Batting from NDS Middle Order

On a good batting pitch, NDS made only 193 all out in 20 overs, which was competitive but below expectations. Being supported by Vaibhav Kandpal (73 off 40), Sarthak Ranjan (34 off 35), and Arjun Rapria (33 off 19), three of them batted immaculately, but the rest of the side gave way. After 155/4 at 17 overs, they were going through the wickets in bunches and instead of driving the score beyond 200, they faded away with the last few balls.

2. Explosive Top Order by ODW, Anchored by Priyansh Arya

In just 30 balls, Priyansh Arya shaped a match-winning knock of 76; consistent with his clean striking, he put ODW comfortably ahead. Rishabh Drall (38 off 25) and Keshav Dabas (46* off 35) supported Arya well, through which he tore apart NDS’s bowling attack. By his attacking strategy, there was no pressure on the scoreboard; hence, ODW was able to stay in complete command of the pursuit.

3. Dominant Powerplay and Momentum Control by ODW

ODW made full use of the powerplay to go to 68/1, which was double the score that NDS had made when batting first. They were able to take the game momentum completely on their side because of that starting choice. Even after three wickets, the NDS bowlers’ run leak was going on as they were not able to stop the flow. It was a comfortable end to ODW’s pursuit at 194/3 in 18 overs, sealing a 7-wicket triumph.

New Delhi Tigers put up a strong game and outplayed North Delhi Strikers to win by 8 wickets. North Delhi Strikers Batting first, the Strikers got off to a poor start and kept losing wickets early. They were 46/5 inside nine overs and could never recover. Vaibhav Kandpal fought hard with 45 runs from 32 balls, while Arjun Rapria scored 29 from 24 balls. But regular wickets meant the Strikers could only manage 124/9 in their 20 overs. Yashjeet bowled brilliantly for the Tigers, taking 3/15, while Pradyuman Sanan supported well with 2/29.

The Tigers made the chase look easy. Even though Shivam Gupta was out for a first-ball duck, Lakshay Thareja kept things steady with 42 not out from 31 balls. Captain Himmat Singh played a quick knock of 46 runs from just 25 balls, hitting boundaries at will. Later, Vaibhav Rawal joined in with an unbeaten 27 from 22 balls. The Tigers reached the target in only 13 overs, with 42 balls still left. It was a great performance from the New Delhi Tigers, as both their bowlers and batters shone in a convincing win.

Batting first, North Delhi Strikers scored 124/9 in 20 overs with only Vaibhav Kandpal (45 off 32) and Arjun Rapria (29 off 24) contributing to the total. The Tigers' bowlers were in control of the match, particularly Yashjeet, who went through the Strikers' middle order. Chasing 125 to win, the New Delhi Tigers made the run chase easy, finishing at 125/2 in 13 overs, thanks to the efforts of Himmat Singh (46 off 25) and Lakshay Thareja (42 off 31). 1. Exceptional Bowling by New Delhi Tigers

Yashjeet’s extremely accurate delivery on 4/15 dismantled NDS’s batting lineup. His initial wickets combined with the disciplined support from other bowlers limited the Strikers to a substandard total. The batsmen could never really settle in, as the Tigers kept the strict run rate throughout.

2. Batting Collapse of the Strikers

Other than Vaibhav Kandpal’s 45 and Arjun Rapria’s 29, no other batter stood up for NDS. When NDS needed partnerships, the middle order collapsed under pressure. Himmat Singh and Lakshay Thareja made it look easy as they ran quickly with aggressive intent. Their free-flowing stroke play saw NDT surpass the target in just 13 overs with 8 wickets remaining, which, as we know, is a commanding batting display to win the match convincingly.

Central Delhi Kings beat North Delhi Strikers by 15 runs (DLS – 16 overs) in a rain-hit, high-scoring game of the Delhi Premier League 2025. Yash Dhull’s superb century set up the win, while the bowlers held their nerve in the final overs to deny the Strikers despite a strong chase.

Kings lost Siddharth Joon early but Yash Dhull stole the show with a brilliant 105 off just 51 balls, hitting 11 fours and 4 sixes. Yugal Saini gave solid support with a quick 63 off 28. Their partnership pushed the total close to 200 in the reduced 16 overs. Harshit Rana picked 3 wickets but even he went for runs.

The Strikers started their chase with good intent. Sarthak Ranjan smashed 52 off 26, while Vaibhav Kandpal (34 off 21) and Arnav Bugga (43 off 13) kept the hopes alive. At one stage, they needed only 35 runs from 18 balls, but wickets at the wrong time hurt their chase. Simarjeet Singh and Tejas Baroka picked two wickets each to make sure Kings finished on top.

North Delhi Strikers lost to Central Delhi Kings by a narrow 15 runs in Match 24 of DPL 2025. Batting first, CDK scored 197/7 in 16 overs with a commendable century from Yash Dhull (105 off 51) and an explosive 63 off 28 from Yugal Saini. NDS gave a good fight with Sarthak Ranjan (52 off 26) and Arnav Bugga (43 off 13) banging runs at lightning speed but could not keep up with the steep asking rate and ended up chasing 182/9 in 16 overs as CDK bowlers got important breakthroughs. Here are the main reasons why the North Delhi Strikers lost the match:

1. Dhull and Saini’s explosive partnership

Yash Dhull's perfect 105 and Yugal Saini's blazing 63 were the major contributions to CDK's innings. In a short game, they combined to a total that was more than NDS could reach if they wanted to win. Their dominance with the bat tilted the balance heavily towards CDK.

2. Timely wickets from CDK’s bowlers

ND Strikers were really close to their target till the middle of the innings, but the bowlers of CDK Arjun Rapria (3/30) and Harshit Rana (3/35), made the difference. They took wickets at the right moment to stop the stage of the game. Besides Tejas Baroka, Simarjeet Singh also took part in the game by getting the wickets.

3. Strikers’ middle-order failure

Despite a blazing start from Ranjan and Bugga, NDS’s middle order failed to continue the charge. Vaibhav Kandpal’s 34 was the only other notable contribution as wickets fell regularly. The scoreboard pressure mounted, and they eventually fell short of the target.

North Delhi Strikers put on a solid show with both bat and ball to beat Purani Dilli 6 by 27 runs in the 16th match of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) Season 2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.

NDS Batted first, NDS got a quick start thanks to an attacking opening stand between Sarthak Ranjan and Arnav Bugga. The pair scored 58 runs in the powerplay, with Ranjan making 38 off 21 balls early on and Bugga adding 18 off 15. Ranjan went on to score a fine 51 from 33 balls before falling to Lalit Yadav in the 10th over. Bugga followed soon after for 39 from 26 balls, dismissed by Udhav Mohan.

The PD6 bowlers fought back in the middle overs, taking regular wickets to slow down the scoring. Lalit Yadav took 3/26, Rajneesh Dadar claimed 3/39, and Udhav Mohan picked up 2/28 as NDS ended with 179/8 in 20 overs.

Chasing 180, PD6 had a terrible start, losing three wickets for just 13 runs in the first few overs. Captain Vansh Bedi hit a quick 33 from 17 balls with three sixes, and Pranav Pant made 40 from 31 balls to keep the chase alive. But once they were dismissed, the rest of the batting could not keep up. PD6 were bowled out for 152 in 20 overs. For NDS, Deepanshu Gulia starred with 3/17, while skipper Harshit Rana chipped in with 2/25 to seal a much-needed win.
