Going further into the conversation, the former Proteas legend admits that he has a strong feeling that RCB are going to clinch their maiden IPL title. 

Furthermore, he highlights the team's stellar run in this season and reflects on Virat Kohli and Josh Hazlewood's sublime form that has won they numerous matches. More about RCB's once-feared batting duo

During their prime years with RCB, just a mere mention of Gayle and De Villiers was enough to stoke fear in the minds of the opposition. While Gayle demonstrated brute force, De Villiers was a 360-degree player, which essentially meant that he could play all around the park and terrorize the bowlers with his wide range of shots. Both AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle have been instrumental in shaping the Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) legacy in the Indian Premier League (IPL), both as dynamic players and as fan favorites.

De Villiers, most famously dubbed "Mr. 360," was with RCB from 2011 to 2021. Over 184 matches, he amassed 5,162 runs at an average of 39.70 and a strike rate of 151.68. Gayle, the Universe Boss, on the other hand, stayed with RCB from 2011 to 2017. During these years, he inflicted sheer carnage with the bat, plundering a total of 4,965 runs at an average of 39.72 and a strike rate of 148.96 with his best innings of 175* coming against Pune in 2013. 

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have stunned the cricketing world by becoming the first team to qualify for the IPL 2025 final. They got their on the back of a dominating win in the first Qualifier, where they absolutely decimated PBKS on all fronts. Hazlewood and Suyash shared three wickets between them, and an overall combined bowling effort resulted in a total capitulation of the PBKS batting lineup as they folded for a meager 101. This is also the franchise's fourth appearance in the IPL final in 18 years, and also their first since 2016. With a possibility of a new title winner looming large, retired South African batter and former RCB legend AB de Villiers has rallied behind his former franchise. The 41-year-old issued a strong support for RCB and shared a message across to his fan base who are eagerly anticipating RCB to lift the trophy for the first time.

In a close-up interaction with a news reporter, De Villiers was asked how he feels after seeing RCB into the finals. The Protea legend replied by saying that he feels great to see them in the final. He further added how MI outclassed GT in the Eliminator and promises to see a thrilling Qualifier 2 match between PBKS and MI.

In a surprising, as Delhi Capitals (DC) faced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) during the IPL 2025 match, the stadium was suddenly filled with “RCB! RCB!” chants, which resulted in players and fans being shocked! Even though RCB wasn't present, their ardent supporters still made sure that they are heard by all loud and clear in Visakhapatnam's ACA-VDCA Stadium.

Meanwhile, in the DC vs SRH match, Delhi Capitals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets, successfully chasing 164 in just 16 overs. SRH managed 163 runs, but DC’s strong batting display and Mitchell Starc’s sensational five-wicket haul secured a comfortable victory. While DC dominated on the field, it was the unexpected RCB chants that stole the limelight, proving yet again that RCB fans are everywhere!
