After a disturbing performance against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in M. Prabhsimran Singh was the first to fall, scoring 13 runs before being dismissed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar with the team score at 22. Soon after, Priyansh Arya was sent back for 16 off 11 balls by Josh Hazlewood. Captain Shreyas Iyer also failed to leave a mark, managing just 7 runs before falling to Hazlewood as well. Josh Inglis added 14 runs off 17 balls, but the required momentum was still missing.

The tide turned when Nehal Wadhera stepped in and changed the game with a fiery knock. Wadhera smashed 33 runs off just 19 deliveries, laced with three boundaries and three towering sixes, effectively sealing the match for Punjab Kings.
