In a tense Semi-Final 2 of the 2025 Vidarbha Premier League (VPL) between Pagariya Strikers (PAS) and Orange Tigers (ORT) at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Jamtha, Nagpur, Pagariya Strikers won the toss and elected to bowl first. In a thrilling low-scoring drama, the Pagariya Strikers recovered from a late meltdown to pursue the target with only two wickets remaining, clinching a victory to remember and securing their spot in the VPL 2025 final against NECO Master Blaster.

Orange Tigers Innings

Orange Tigers were bowled out for 132 in 19.2 overs after batting first. Wicket-keeper opener Rohit V. Binkar held the innings together with a vital 52 off 41 balls, and Akshay Karnewar (21 off 14) and Yash Rathod (18 off 13) contributed with brisk runs. But the middle and lower order could not capitalize on the platform as the Pagariya bowlers kept on coming at regular intervals. Ashit Singh starred with the ball, claiming 3/10 in just 3 overs. Dipesh Parwani (2/29) and Kaustubh Salve (2/23) added to the pressure with disciplined spells, restricting ORT to a below-par total.

Pagariya Strikers Innings

Chasing 133, Pagariya Strikers managed some dodgy moments to reach 133/8 in 19.2 overs. Ashit Singh continued his all-round performance, making a breezy 33 off 20 balls, while MD Faiz (33 off 36) steadied the innings with some middle-overs solidity. Skipper Yash Kadam added a crucial 32 from 27 balls. Although there was a courageous comeback by Akshay Karnewar (3/21) and Minar Sahare (2/18), the Strikers managed to surpass the target in the last over. Tushar Suryavanshi (1/1) also staged a late drama, but Pagariya maintained their composure to seal a closely fought victory.

With this dramatic victory, Pagariya Strikers will now take on NECO Master Blaster in the grand final of VPL 2025. Both sides have displayed great form throughout the competition, and they will be all set for a thrilling contest for the VPL 2025 title at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium.

Dhrumil Matkar scored the top 34 of 30 balls in a patient knock, with Akash Anand (31 of 28) and Sagar Chabria (23 of 13) chipping in with small but vital innings. But the constant fall of wickets limited the Blasters from putting up a larger score. Akash Parkar was the bowler's choice for Falcons with an excellent spell of 3 for 16 in 2 overs. Siddharth Raut also bowled tight, taking 2 for 16, and Vinayak Bhoir contributed 1 for 17.

In the 1st semi-final of the Mumbai T20 League 2025 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, Eagle Thane Strikers (ETS) elected to bat first against Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals (MSCMR). The match turned out to be a thrilling contest, with MSCMR dominating with the ball and chase. MSCMR won by 8 wickets. After this win, MSCMR advanced to the finals.

Eagle Thane Strikers Innings

Batting first, Eagle Thane Strikers posted 131/8 in their 20 overs. Sairaj Patil led the charge with a steady 41 off 40 balls, holding the innings together. Captain Atharva Ankolekar contributed an important 34 off 30 balls, while Ajit Yadav rounded out his innings with 19 off 13 balls to support the team. It was unfortunate that due to losing wickets frequently, the run-scoring momentum was lost to be able to have a late barrage. The Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals bowlers, led by Rohan Raje, who took 5 for 40 in just 4 overs, kept the Strikers on their toes throughout the innings.

Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals Innings

With a target of 132 runs to chase down, the Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals chased down the Strikers in just 17.5 overs, winning off the last ball by 8 wickets, scoring 134/2. Captain Siddhesh Lad led the run chase, playing an outstanding innings of 74 runs off 52 balls, hitting the bowlers at his will. Chinmay Sutar and Sachin Yadav shared the same score of 19 off 20 balls to make the chase comfortable. Strikers had nothing working for them in their bowling as well, as Shashank Attarde (1/15) and Sairaj Patil (1/34) managed a wicket apiece. The batting of MSCMR was starkly composed as they stumbled into the final.
