Trent Rockets Women put up a strong all-round show to defeat Oval Invincibles Women by 6 wickets. Invincibles batted first and they managed only 109 runs in 7 Wickets. Captain Meg Lanning fought hard with 45 runs, but she got little support from the other batters. Alice Capsey made 18 and Maia Bouchier added 14, but wickets kept falling. Rockets’ bowlers were excellent, with Ashleigh Gardner (2/4) and Kirstie Gordon (2/8) making scoring very difficult.

Chasing 110, the Rockets never looked in trouble. Grace Scrivens gave them a solid start with 34 runs from 27 balls. Even after losing a couple of wickets, the target was always under control. The Manchester Originals Women played a brilliant game at Trent Bridge and defeated the Trent Rockets Women by 10 wickets in the 20th game of 100B league. It was a one-sided game where the Originals looked stronger in both bowling and batting in this match.

The Rockets batted first but struggled to score runs. They ended with just 111 runs for 7 wickets in 100 balls. Their only good knock came from Nat Sciver-Brunt, who hit 34 runs from 26 balls. Bryony Smith also added 17 at the top, but the rest of the batters could not stay long at the crease. For the Originals, Sophie Ecclestone bowled well, taking 2 wickets for 12 runs, while Kathryn Bryce also impressed with 2 for 19. Tight bowling made sure the Rockets never built a big partnership.

Southern Brave Women bowled brilliantly and then chased down the target calmly to beat Trent Rockets by six wickets in The Hundred Women’s Competition at Trent Bridge. Captain Georgia Adams chose to bowl first, and it worked perfectly. Young Tilly Corteen-Coleman, just 17, struck twice in her first over, removing Bryony Smith (10) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (0) with help from a sharp stumping by Rhianna Southby.

Rockets captain Ashleigh Gardner tried to fight back with a quick 25 off 16 balls, but her team kept losing wickets. From 36-2 after the powerplay, they crumbled to 55-8. Corteen-Coleman finished with amazing figures of 4-13, while Lauren Bell took 3-16 and became the first woman to reach 50 wickets in The Hundred.

Alana King (24) and Kirstie Gordon (32) gave Rockets hope with a record 50-run stand for the last wicket, taking them to 106.
