Former Indian batting coach unveils his strongest XI from announced squad for Asia Cup 2025

With Shubman Gill making his comeback to the T20I squad and being named vice-captain, Abhishek Nayar placed his trust in him as an opener. He paired Shubman with the young Abhishek Sharma, forming a promising opening partnership. The combination reflects a mix of experience and youthful energy, setting a strong base for India’s batting in the Asia Cup.

In Nayar’s lineup, Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav batted at 3 and 4, with Pandya, Sharma, Patel, and Dube in the middle-lower order.
