IPL 2025, Match 58: RCB vs KKR Dream11 Top Captains And Vice-captains

Top 3 Dream11 Captain choices

Virat Kohli: RCB legend Virat Kohli is the fourth leading run-scorer in the IPL 2025 with 505 runs in 11 matches, with an average of 63.12 and a strike rate of 143.46. He recorded seven half-centuries this season, including scoring 50+ runs in the last four straight matches.

Varun Chakravarthy: KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy is the second most wicket-taker as a spinner and fifth overall most wicket-taker in the IPL 2025 with 17 wickets in 12 matches. Although the Bengaluru pitch can be challenging for him, he is in great form with the ball, as he took two wickets in each of the last three games.

Vaibhav Arora: KKR right-arm pacer Vaibhav Arora is the leading wicket-taker among the uncapped bowlers in the IPL 2025 with 16 wickets in 11 games. Although his economy rate this season is above 10, he is a strong wicket-taking bowler.

Top 3 Dream11 Vice-captain choices

Andre Russell: KKR all-rounder Andre Russell had some useful moments with the ball this season, and only lately has he managed to produce his familiar dangerous batting form. In their last two games, Russell smashed 57 not out off 25 balls and 38 off 21 balls, respectively.

Krunal Pandya: Krunal Pandya is the second leading wicket-taker for RCB this season with 14 wickets in 11 matches. RCB were desperate to secure him this season, and the reason is clearly visible now. Pandya’s batting has hardly been required this season, but when RCB were struggling at 26/3 in their 163-run chase against Delhi Capitals, Pandya scored a match-winning 73 not out off 47 balls with five fours and four sixes and had a valuable 119-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Virat Kohli.

Ajinkya Rahane: KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane is the only consistent performer for the defending champions this season, as he has scored 375 runs in 11 innings with an average of 37.50 and a strike rate of 146.48, including three half-centuries. In his all last four innings, Rahane scored 25+ runs.

Kolkata Knight Riders has made a shocking combination in their first XI against Delhi Capitals by leaving their pacer Vaibhav Arora on the bench and opting to go out with Anukul Roy, an Indian spinner.

Arora has been an instrumental figure in the KKR camp since 2023, playing an important role behind the Purple Brigade's IPL 2024 triumph. In the last match of IPL 2025, where Kolkata Knight Riders faced Punjab Kings, Arora took a couple of wickets; so far, he has bagged a total of 11 scalps in 8 matches.

The defending champion side is struggling to get their momentum from the beginning of the ongoing tournament; they are still looking for the right combination. The Kolkata-based franchise is currently in 7th spot with 7 points after playing 9 games. They need to win all of their remaining matches to keep their playoff possibilities alive.

Opting out Vaibhav Arora out of the playing line-up against Delhi Capitals is an unpredictable move from the Ajinkya Rahane-led side. During the toss, the KKR skipper has made clear why they put Anukul Roy into the squad in place of the pacer.

KKR skipper explained why they left Arora in dugout

According to the experienced cricketer, "Anukul Roy comes in. It's hard to read the wicket (Arun Jaitley Stadium), but looking at it now and the last game, the left-arm spinner seems like a good option. We have to win five out of five. We're trying to give our best and play one game at a time. We don't want to think too much about the pitch; we'll assess conditions quickly and decide the approach."

Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) Vaibhav Arora delivered a fiery performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 15 of the IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on Thursday. The right arm quick bowler made an impact early, dismissing key players Travis Head and Ishan Kishan within the powerplay.

However, tensions seemed to rise when he claimed the crucial wicket of Heinrich Klaasen, who was looking to take charge in the second innings. The fast bowler delivered a well-placed short ball, forcing a top-edge from the pull shot, which landed safely in the hands of Moeen Ali at square leg. However, it was Arora’s celebration and what followed that grabbed attention. Raising his arms in triumph, Arora celebrated the crucial wicket that sealed SRH’s fate.

As Heinrich Klaasen walked back to the dugout, Arora engaged in a brief stare down with the South African international, adding intensity to the moment. For this splendid bowling performance, the right-arm quick bowler was even awarded the Player of the Match Award.  The 27-year-old pacer ended the game with a bowling figure of 3/29 in his allotted 4 overs with one maiden over.

Kolkata Knight Riders won by massive 80 runs

Defending a challenging total, KKR’s bowlers came out firing. SRH had a disastrous start, losing Travis Head for just four runs to Vaibhav Arora on the second ball of the chase. Harshit Rana followed up with a brilliant over, deceiving Abhishek Sharma with a slower ball. With their aggressive left-handed top three dismissed within the first three overs, SRH found themselves in deep trouble at 9/3.

Arora continued his impressive spell, finishing with figures of 4-1-29-3, including the crucial wicket of Heinrich Klaasen with a well-placed slower bouncer. Sunil Narine, marking his 200th wicket for KKR, delivered an economical spell, though he narrowly missed dismissing Klaasen due to an unnoticed edge.

Varun Chakravarthy (3-22) was lethal in the middle overs, striking twice in the 16th over, including the key wicket of Pat Cummins. Andre Russell (2-20) wrapped up the innings with a sharp caught-and-bowled effort as SRH collapsed for just 120 in 17 overs.
