Match 6 of the Vidarbha Premier League (VPL) 2025 features an exciting clash between the Nagpur Titans(NAT) and Orange Tigers(ORT) on June 8 at 2:45 PM IST. As the tournament heats up, both teams will be eager to register a key victory under the lights. Playing at the VPL can pose some difficulties for batters with the dimensions of the boundaries as well as the low scores on the pitch in past editions.

  • Temperature: 38° C

Pitch Report:

The pitch at VCA Stadium continues to play slow and 'sluggish,' favoring bowlers, and seamers in particular with the new ball and spinners later on. The sting of large boundaries will not help clear the boundary any easier, and scores between 120 and 130 could make for a competitive total. Expect captains to want to bat first, with new conditions and scoreboard pressure.

  • Nature of Surface: Two-paced; seam early on and spin later on
  • Spinners: Should play a big role in the middle and death overs
  • Boundary Dimensions: Long straight/square boundaries; a challenging six-hitting ground

Records at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium:

  • Highest Team Total: 131-10 BR vs NMB
  • Lowest Team Total: 108-10 NMB vs BR
  • Average First Innings Total: 126 runs.

Pagariya Strikers Nagpur (PAS) registered a convincing 5-wicket victory over Bharat Rangers (BHR) in Match 5 of the Vidarbha Premier League (VPL) 2025 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. PAS won the toss and decided to bowl first and supported their decision with a stable run chase after holding the opposition to a subpar score.

Bharat Rangers Innings

Bharat Rangers scored 169/9 in 20 overs, where Varun Bisht took the team by storm with his 55 in 25 balls, giving good impetus at the top. Danish Malewar also added a useful 28 in 16, while skipper Atharva Taide added a solid 21 from 18 balls in the middle phase. But the innings never really gained momentum because of frequent loss of wickets. Pagariya Strikers' bowlers split the spoils nicely. Lalit Yadav was the best of the bowlers with 2 for 28 in 4 overs, and Suraj Rai also took 2 for 29 runs. Ashit Singh was among the wicket-takers as well, ending up with 2 for 39. Their timely breakthroughs did not allow Bharat Rangers to establish partnerships during the death overs.

Pagariya Strikers Innings

In response, Pagariya Strikers achieved the target without any difficulty, as 172/5 in 18.2 overs. The highlight of Pagariya Strikers' innings without a doubt was MD Faiz, who made an unbelievable match-winning 82 off just 51 balls*, with Yash Kadam (35 off 13 balls) and Dhruv Shorey (28 off 24 balls) providing solid support to keep the chase on track. For Bharat Rangers, Shubham Kapse and Malhar Dosi took 2 wickets each, but they were costly. Kunal Kunjwani also took a wicket, but the bowling attack did not have the bite to contain Faiz's masterclass performance under pressure.

Pagariya Strikers, with this victory, were able to demonstrate their all-around strength and rise up in the points table with an assertive performance.

Neco Masters Blasters (NMB) crushed Nagpur Titans (NAT) by 9 wickets in Match 4 of the VPL 2025, played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur. NMB won the toss and chose to bowl first, limiting NAT to a modest score before easily chasing down the same.

Nagpur Titans Innings

NAT replied with 132/6 in 20 overs, which was below par on a good pitch. Jagjot Sasan held the innings together with a solid 45 off 43 deliveries, while Akshay Wadkar scored a handy 36 off 26 deliveries. S. Sheikh came in at the end to stay unbeaten on 15 off only 10 balls and provide some late resistance.  NAT, however, ran out of steam owing to good bowling by NMB. Praful Hinge was the star bowler, taking 3/23 off 4 overs and tearing apart the middle order. He was ably assisted by Ananmay Jaiswal, who bowled a neat spell of 1/16 off 2 overs, and Arya Durugkar, who took 1/20, creating pressure in the crucial overs.

Neco Masters Blasters Innings

Pursuit of 133, NMB hunted to 133/1 in 15.5 overs with ease. Aryan Meshram was the man of the match, tearing apart an authoritative 85 from 53 balls, taking the chase from beginning to end. He had a great ally in Vedant Dighade, who played a composed knock of 41 from 39 deliveries. A late burst by R. Sanjay, who scored 4 off 3 balls, served to wrap up the innings in style. NAT's bowling also found it difficult to stem the run flow. Piyush Sawarkar achieved the solitary breakthrough (1/15 in 2 overs), while A. S. Thakare was tight with 0/10 in 2 overs but was denied support from the other end.
