14-year-old teenage prodigy issued a chilling warning amid soaring popularity
Fans on social media urge the youngster not to follow in the footsteps of Prithivi Shaw following a ground-breaking entry on the big stage.

The young Vaibhav Suryanvanshi is off to a dream start in his cricketing career. The youngster, hailing from the Indian province of Bihar, has achieved what barely a few can even dare to imagine in their wildest dreams. Ever since his record-breaking stint with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the recently concluded IPL 2025, Suryanvanshi has been on a roll.
The 14-year-old justified his hefty price tag of INR 1.1 crore in the mega auction and gave very little scope for any disappointment to his franchise. Soon enough, Suryanvanshi registered his name in the record books by becoming the youngest centurion in the history of IPL and also the fastest Indian batter to reach this prestigious milestone. It took him just 35 balls to reach his century in what turned out to be an unreal carnage from the young buy, leaving the Gujarat Titans (GT) helpless.
The youngster continued to sparkle for his national side at the U-19 level, registering solid scores of 48, 45, 86, 143, and 33 in the Youth ODI series against England. He followed it up with another fine performance in the Youth Test at Beckenham, where he hogged the limelight for becoming the youngest Indian player to pick up a Test wicket in Youth cricket.

Word of caution for the young Suryanvanshi
Although Suryavanshi has grown in leaps and bounds in his professional cricketing career, his fans on social media urge him not to throw it away. India's now out-of-favor opener Prithvi Shaw had a promising start to his international career. The two young batters shared a prosperous beginning, but Prithwi faltered badly later down the road and couldn't keep up with the evolving challenges of the game due to fitness and disciplinary problems.
While drawing parallels with Prithvi, fans took to the internet to remind him how the former Indian opener's downfall and cautioned him not to get carried away.

Suryavanshi is set to feature in the second Youth Test match, which is slated to begin on July 20 at the Chelmsford County Ground. The series is currently level at 0-0, but India U-19 would fancy their chancing of creating history in the red-ball series on the back of some sizzling batting exploits from Suryavanshi.
