The highly anticipated Qualifier 2 of IPL 2025 is running late according to the original schedule due to rain. The match between Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians was scheduled to start at 7.30 pm; now the clock strikes 8.28 pm, and the game is yet to be started.

Players are warming up to keep them focused whenever the match starts. As there is no reserve day for the clash, Punjab Kings are now slightly ahead of Mumbai Indians, as the team led by Shreyas Iyer was the stage toppers in the group stage.

If the Qualifier 2 washes out completely due to rain, Punjab will advance to the final for the summit clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. But there are multiple conditions to declare a match abandoned at this crucial point of the tournament.

As per regulations in the Indian Premier League, there are 4 conditions under which this match can be played and a winner can be decided after a competition. Before labeling the game washed out, organizers will try their best to at least arrange a super over. Super means both of the participating teams will get a chance to face 6 balls each; the team with a higher number of runs will be the winner of Qualifier 2 and will get a ticket to the final.

These are the playing conditions:

- No reserve day available

- An additional 2 hours of buffer is available.

- If a 5-over game isn’t possible, they will play a super over.

- If Super Over isn’t possible as well, PBKS qualifies because they finished above Mumbai in the league stage.

Weather report

Now, as per the current scenario and forecast by AccuWeather, chances of rain will be there throughout the evening and night. Chances of heavy rain are not projected, but continuous drizzle also can affect a match.
