During the IPL 2025 match against Chennai Super Kings in Bengaluru, former Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Virat Kohli recorded his fourth consecutive half-century. However, it was very special 50 for him as the right-handed batter completed his 50 runs in 29 balls, his joint fastest IPL half-century in the last seven years and joint fastest this season.
RCB openers Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli provided a powerful start for the hosts against CSK on Saturday night (May 3). RCB scored 71/0 at the end of the powerplay. While Bethell slammed a 28-ball 50, Kohli scored a 29-ball 50. They had a 97-run partnership for the first wicket before Bethell was dismissed for 55 off 33 balls (eight fours and two sixes).
On the other hand, Kohli scored 62 runs in 33 balls with the help of five fours and five sixes. While it was his fourth consecutive half-century, and seventh in the ongoing IPL 2025, it was his joint-fastest half-century in the IPL 2025, joint-fastest half-century in the last seven IPL seasons, and the joint fifth fastest IPL half-century in his career. During their match against the hosts Mumbai Indians in Mumbai this season, Kohli slammed a 29-ball half-century.
After the powerful starts from Bethell and Kohli, Romario Shepherd ended the game stunningly with a 14-ball half-century by scoring 53 not out off 14 balls with four fours and six sixes. Shepherd smashed 20 runs in the last five balls, including banging consecutive sixes in the last two balls. These batting performances helped RCB score 213/5 in 20 overs.

Letting Virat Kohli score 50 in less than 30 balls should be enough to tell you why we're 10th btw👍
