Just after recovering from a finger tip injury, Rishabh Pant injured his toes during the Old Trafford Test. A quick delivery from England pacer Chris Woakes severely injured the batter's right foot. The Board of Control for Cricket in India already declared that the vice-captain of the Test team will not be available for the fifth Test, which will decide the final scoreline of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy.

Currently, England is leading the series by 2-1. Despite sustaining injury, Rishabh Pant came into the crease to bat in the first innings and scored a half century. His presence on the field proved crucial for India to put 358 runs on the scoreboard. Later, the match ended in a draw after a dramatic and action-filled second innings.

The keeper-batter, through his Instagram post, informed his followers about his leg injury. He will have to go under rehabilitation before returning to competitive games. With some photos of his injured foot, he wrote on his social media post, "Appreciate all the love and good wishes coming my way. It's been a real source of strength. I will begin rehab once my fracture heals, and I am slowly settling into the process. Staying patient, following the routines, and giving it my 100%. Playing for the country has always been the proudest moment of my life. Can't wait to be back doing what I love."
