India's white-ball series proposal vs Afghanistan looks doubtful
It is understood that the original plan was for the team to play three games from June 20 to June 30, with the team traveling to the Caribbean around July 7.

India’s proposed white-ball series against Afghanistan looks dicey. Sources understand that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is finding it hard to plan the three-game ODI series in the restricted time accessible between the World Test Title Final (from June 7 to 12) and an undeniable series in the Caribbean from July 12 to August 13 including two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is.

It is understood that the original plan was for the team to play three games from June 20 to June 30, with the team traveling to the Caribbean around July 7. Now that the September schedule for the Asia Cup is expected to be finalized in the next few days, BCCI sources say that the players won’t get any rest before the World Cup, which is more important and takes place in October and November.
The BCCI officials were unwilling to provide any specifics, but it appears that there are a few additional reasons for the reconsideration. The fact that the BCCI’s broadcast deal with Disney Star has ended and the new tender has not yet been released is one possible explanation. There is always the possibility of an interim arrangement, but the big question is whether the board will get the right price for the bilateral series before a full-fledged tender.
Mirwais Ashraf, president of the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), is currently in India after being invited by the BCCI to attend the IPL final here. Additionally, there will be a meeting of the ACC on the eve of the May 28 final, and the two boards may take advantage of the occasion to discuss this brief bilateral series. At this point, it appears unlikely that a final decision will be made, barring a last-minute change of heart.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has sent a tentative schedule for the Caribbean series, but the BCCI has not yet approved it. Dates for the WI series may be discussed at WTC. Sources discovered that there might be a few conversations between the BCCI and CWI authorities during the WTC last in London and the timetable could be delivered after that.
