The 58th match of the IPL 2025 has been scheduled for the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals (PBKS vs DC) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (Dharamsala) on Thursday evening (May 8). It will be their first meeting this season.
Punjab Kings are in the third place in the IPL 2025 points table with 15 points after 11 matches, recording seven wins, three losses, and one no result. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are in the fifth position with 13 points in 11 games, including six wins, four losses, and one no result. While PBKS are unbeaten in their last three fixtures (one no result and the last two victories), DC are winless in their last three games (two defeats and the last one no result).

PBKS' top-order batting is their biggest asset, along with their Indian bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal. Punjab Kings’ all-rounders need to play more effective roles, while Shashank Singh is their only present dependable name in their middle-order batting. PBKS are unlikely to make any important changes in the squad for this upcoming match.
Delhi Capitals' batting line-up has a lack of big scores, which is their major issue this season. Also, their main bowlers, Mitchell Starc and Kuldeep Yadav, have recently struggled without a lack of strong support from other bowlers. DC may make some crucial batting name changes for the match.
Punjab Kings Predicted Playing XI: Prabhsimran Singh/Yuzvendra Chahal (Impact Players Sub), Priyansh Arya, Shreyas Iyer (Captain), Josh Inglis, Azmatullah Omarzai, Marcus Stoinis, Nehal Wadhera, Shashank Singh, Marco Jansen, Arshdeep Singh, Harpreet Brar
Delhi Capitals Predicted Playing XI: Faf du Plessis, Abishek Porel, Karun Nair, Tristan Stubbs, KL Rahul (wk), Axar Patel (Captain), Ashutosh Sharma/T Natarajan (Impact Sub), Vipraj Nigam, Kuldeep Yadav, Mitchell Starc, Dushmantha Chameera
