"No More Excuses": Aakash Chopra Questions Gambhir’s Future as Team India Coach
Gautam Gambhir is facing heat after losing 7 out of 9 Test matches as coach. Aakash Chopra says he must start winning soon or he could be removed.

Gautam Gambhir Under Pressure After Poor Test Results, Given Final Warning
Head coach Gautam Gambhir is facing serious questions after his team suffered yet another Test defeat. Former cricketer Aakash Chopra has said clearly it’s time to show results, no more excuses.
The team recently lost the first match of the five-Test series against England at Headingley, even after scoring over 800 runs and getting five players to hit centuries. It was a close game, but things fell apart on the last day, adding to a worrying pattern. That makes it seven losses in the last nine Test matches with Gambhir in charge.
Chopra didn’t hold back. “There’s a lot of pressure on him. He’s not winning enough matches. Just two wins against Bangladesh and one against Australia but three losses each to New Zealand and Australia, and now another one to England,” he said.
He warned that if things don’t improve in this series, Gambhir’s job could be on the line. “If the team keeps losing, there will be tough questions. The selectors have given him everything the players he wanted, the support staff, all the tools. Now it’s time to show results. No excuses,” Chopra added.

Gambhir, on the other hand, still believes in his young bowling group. Even after a tough outing at Headingley, he said the plan is still to rest Jasprit Bumrah for two games in this five-match series, to protect him after his back injury. With the next match coming up at Edgbaston, the team needs to bounce back quickly. The pressure is rising, and all eyes are now on how Gambhir and his players respond.
