WATCH: Shreyas Iyer spotted with his mom at Mumbai airport amid ENG vs IND 2025 Tests

Shreyas Iyer was spotted in Mumbai airport with his mother, Rohini, returning after a vacation. They first went to Kazakhstan and then Dubai to spend some free time before returning to India on Wednesday, June 25. Iyer has experienced a mixed season in 2025 so far.

After making a comeback for Team India in white-ball cricket, he guided Punjab Kings to the final of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL 2025). Where they lost against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and missed the chance to grab the IPL title.

Then, he went to represent the SoBo Mumbai Falcons in the T20 Mumbai League. Like Punjab Kings, here also the middle-order batsman guided the team to the title-decider match. Iyer's side was up against Siddhesh Lad’s Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on June 12 for the final match of the championship.

Two finals, same results 

Batting first, Mumbai Falcons reached 157 for the loss of 4 wickets. Captain Iyer lost his wicket only for 12 after facing 17 deliveries. The partnership between Mayuresh Tandel and Harsh Aghav helped Falcons to grab a respectable total on the scorecard. But it was now enough to save the match and to win the title. Marathi Royals won the final match by 5 wickets.

Chinmay Rajesh Sutar's solid 53-run innings paved the road to the title. Awais Khan Naushad (38) and Sahil Bhagwanta Jadhav (22) also played their parts well under pressure. Another final in 2025 and a heartbreaking moment for Shreyas Iyer. He also did not pick for the Test squad for the ongoing England vs. India Test series, which sparked a controversy between cricket fans.
