Smriti Mandhana, India’s graceful left-handed opener, further stamped her mark on the record books with a terrific century in the 2025 Tri-Nation Series final against Sri Lanka. Mandhana’s innings, on just 92 balls, was a lesson in timing and temperament with 12 fours and 2 sixes. In a must-win game while chasing a competitive target, Mandhana’s composed yet aggressive innings paved the way for a complete victory.
This ton was her 11th century in One-Day Internationals, pushing her to third in the list for most WODI centuries of all time, behind legends Meg Lanning (15) and Suzie Bates (13). It wasn't statistically impactful alone, however, as emotionally resonant a moment as this was, coming as it did in a pressure-charged final when her batting leadership was the difference between team success and defeat. The innings testified to Mandhana's evolution over the years from being a talented kid to being one of the most consistent run-getters in women's cricket in the world.
During the series, Mandhana exemplified steely consistency and calmness, contributing significantly to India's unbeaten streak. Whether stabilizing the innings or speeding up scoring, she proved a sound awareness of match situations—a trait that still distinguishes her in international cricket. Her hundred in the final was not merely another individual landmark but a defining moment that confirmed her position as one of the support pillars of India's batting order.
Smriti Mandhana's record in her career is a testament to her class and consistency in all formats of the game. In ODIs, she has made a total of over 4,200 runs at a 46.25 average, with 11 centuries and 30 half-centuries to her credit. In T20 Internationals, she has made 3,761 runs at a strike rate of 123.27, still a force to be reckoned with at the top of the order. In Test cricket, though the chances have been fewer, she has still made 435 runs at a 45.86 average, with 1 century and 2 half-centuries to her credit.
