[WATCH] Shubman Gill and Rishab Pant raise their noise levels to unsettle Ben Duckett in the Headingly Test
Despite England's strong finish on day two, both Gill and Pant kept their energy levels up.

The first Test between India and England at Headingly is delicately poised. India commenced proceedings on day one on a thumping note. The day thoroughly belonged to the visitors as India piled on a monumental 358 at the expense of only three wickets. Then on day two, England managed to fight back by dismissing India right after lunch without taking further damage. Later, they followed it up with a defiant batting performance and got through to stumps with a score of 209/3.
Two of India's prime batters, Shubman Gill and Rishab Pant, were instrumental in propelling India to a good position. The duo chruned out the bulk of the runs for India and helped them finish on 471 despite a late flurry of wickets towards the end. With runs under their belt, their body language on the field seemed very relaxed, even when England looked to turn on the heat.
At the time when Duckett was facing Jadeja, both Gill and Pant got vocally involved in a bid to upset the well-set English batter. Duckett's first failed attempt at a switch hit proved futile. His failed attempt immediately attracted a hilarious response from Pant behind the stumps. He said, "Mein Bhi Khel Raha Hu Bhai....Apne Chauke Ke Chakar Mein Apna Chauka Mat De Dena". (I am also playing the game. In your quest for boundary-hitting, try not to drag me to the cleaners)
The following delivery was then defended by Duckett from his crease in a rather tentative manner. Upon seeing that, Gill, who was standing in the slip, got involved and conveyed to Jadeja vocally that he was totally confused. He said, "Abhi Ye Pura Confused Hai Jaddu Bhai... Kaun Se Sidh Aur Kaun Si Udha Ayega Iska".

Duckett and Pope helped England weather the storm after a tricky start. The duo amassed a staggering 122-run stand to turn the tables on India. However, after a bit of a fight back from the Indian bowlers, Duckett was cleaned up by Jasprit Bumrah right after getting to his fifty. Moving into day three, England have a deficit of 262 runs ahead of them with seven wickets left in the bank.
