Watch: Two former Indian internationals point out how Rajasthan Royals made blunder at IPL 2025 auctions

Rajasthan Royals (RR) tasted three defeats in five IPL 2025 matches, spreading them thin in the points table. Last night, Gujarat Titans overhauled RR without such difficulties. An interaction session related to the GT vs RR match, where two former Indian cricketers and now turned cricket experts, Wasim Jaffer and Sanjay Bangar, examined the performance of Rajasthan Royals and tried to point out the reasons behind their unimpressive performance.

"Are they really making use of impact sub? probably. That is one thing wherein the teams are trying to optimize it, getting in that added quality by getting in, maybe a Kulwant Khejroliya, but whether they are getting enough by inducting Shubham Dubey was not really the case. And I just felt that in the absence of Wanindu Hasaranga, they were a spinner short; they could have used Karthikeya as an impact player or could have had him in the first place," Bangar said.

Wasim Jaffer particularly said about the squad Rajasthan Royals currently have. Without any hesitation he said, "The players that had lost their have not recruited in a similar quality. You know the players that they have released; you wonder why they have done that. And the kind of players they have in the dugout as well, you know. Sometimes you feel twice, you know, whether you should play them and whether they can win you games. So the quality of the squad is questionable."
