Barbados Royals take on Jamaica Tallawahs in the 2022 Caribbean Premier League Final on Friday evening in Guyana. The Royals topped the group and have lost only two games all season. The Tallawahs finished in fourth place but have won two play-off games to reach this final. The Royals have had comfortable wins in three of their last four matches with Wednesday’s victory margin 87 runs. It will take a huge performance from the Tallawahs if they are to beat the Royals in this final. The Tallawahs have beaten Saint Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors across their last two matches and will not fear taking on the Royals in this one-off clash.
Played- 19 | BR – 09 | JT– 10 | Tie- 0
Date: 01st October 2022
Time: 04:30 AM IST
Venue: Providence Stadium
We will see clear skies in Guyana during the final with no chance of a rain interruption. Humidity levels could reach over 80% in the latter stages of the match.
During the three playoff games, we have seen three totals of over 188 on this pitch. We expect another high-scoring match on a quick wicket in Providence. The conditions in Guyana are a bit overcast but the forecast improves by the time this match starts. We are really hoping for a match without interruptions because this contest deserves it!
Brandon King, Kennar Lewis (wk), Shamarh Brooks, Rovman Powell (c), Raymon Reifer, Fabian Allen, Mohammad Nabi, Imad Wasim, Chris Green, Nicholson Gordon, Mohammad Amir
Rahkeem Cornwall, Kyle Mayers (c), Harry Tector, Azam Khan, Najibullah Zadran, Jason Holder, Devon Thomas (wk), Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Obed McCoy, Hayden Walsh, Ramon Simmonds
Shamarh Brooks hit 109 not out from 52 balls in the Qualifier 2 victory on Wednesday. The 33 year old is our tip for Jamaica Tallawahs’ highest run scorer against Barbados Royals. Mohammad Amir has taken 16 wickets across the competition and the left-arm pace bowler is our recommendation for the Tallawahs’ top wicket taker in the final.
Kyle Mayers hit three sixes in his 26 runs from 20 balls against Guyana Amazon Warriors and the left-hander is a strong choice for Barbados Royals’ highest run scorer in this match. Only Alzarri Joseph has taken more wickets than Jason Holder in the tournament. Holder is our pick for Barbados Royals’ top wicket taker against Jamaica Tallawahs.

Considering the past performance of both teams, Barbados Royals will win. Jamaica Tallawahs have shown that they have the ability to beat anyone in this tournament although it is Barbados Royals who have been far more consistent. The batting and bowling standard on both sides is very high. The Tallawahs were in very poor form at the end of the CPL 2022 group stage, however, they are now looking for their third successive win. Although the Royals lost their final game of the group stage, they have won three of their last four matches and won Wednesday’s game by 87 runs.
Match Prediction: Barbados Royals Will Win the Match
