After the end of over 16, DD was on 127 for 4; from there, after the next over, the scoreboard showed 161/4, a huge jump in the run chase for the second batting side. During the over, Khumar also completed his half century. The batter made sure of a win from tonight's game, bowling out before hitting the winning runs. Khumar went back to the hut after a destructive 30-ball, 65-run innings.

Baba Indrajith played a useful 42-run innings off 31 balls. When Khumar came to bat, the foundation was already there to make a successful launch, and he exactly did that, launching the ball back-to-back over the boundary ropes. The CSG opener K Ashiq tried to take on the Nellai Royal Kings' bowling attack early doors. In particular, he tried to target Emmanuel Cherian during the fourth over, but what transpired left the viewers in splits.

Whilst attempting a lofted shot down the ground, the ball made contact exactly with the center part of the bat, causing it to split into two pieces. The second portion of the bat flew towards Cherian and landed flush on his boots, resulting in a momentary discomfort for him. His expression was caught on camera, and the on-air commentators saw the funny side of it as they were heard chuckling on air.

Although the bat broke into two, Ashiq came agonizingly close to being caught as the ball nearly carried to the fielder at mid off. He previously smashed a four of his bowling a delivery before this incident. Nevertheless, he went after him again in the following delivery and succeeded in clearing the boundary ropes.  

CSG made the NRK bowlers pay after the latter inserted them to bat first. They faced an initial setback when opener RS Mokit Hariharan was dismissed for a low score. However, Aashiq and the captain, Baba Aparajith, stabilized the innings by notching a vital 83-run partnership for the second wicket. Aparajith was calculative in his approach, accumulating 41 runs off 29 balls before being dismissed by Sachin Rathi's bowling.

Ashiq kept motoring along despite the departure of Aparajith and subsequently went on to register a crucial 33-run stand with Vijay Shankar. He was eventually removed for a well-made 54. However, Shankar and Swapnil Singh provided a blazing finish for CSG towards the end, as the duo put on a blistering 56-run partnership in just 19 balls to take CSG to a commanding score of 212.

NRK in reply fell way short of their target. Despite a fine knock from the skipper Arun Karthik (51 off 42) at the top of the order and a late blitzkreig from Muhammed Adnan Khan (48 off 27), NRK failed to keep up with the required run rate and bowed down to LSG by a margin of 41 runs.
