It's the semi-final of the ongoing Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 between India-A and Bangladesh-A (IND-A vs BAN-A). Eyes will be on emerging Indian stars like Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament with 201 runs, and Naman Dhir. Both of the batters have been in form. Apart from these two batters, the rest of the India-A team is yet to perform as a unit. The semi-final against the Bangladesh-A team can be very tough if the batters of the emerging setup of the Men in Blue misfire today at West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

If we talk about the bowling part of the India A team, then it performed more unitedly than the batting department. Gurjapneet Singh is the top wicket-taker currently. Meanwhile, Harsh Dubey and Suyash Sharma have also made contributions. On paper, India-A is ahead of the Bangladesh-A team, though it will be very early to predict the result of the semi-final. Their batting power mostly relied on Habibur Rahman Sohan and captain Akbar Ali. Indian bowlers must try to take their wickets as early as possible.

Unlike the last few games between India and Pakistan, whether it’s the Asia Cup 2025 or the Women’s World Cup 2025 in the Dubai International Cricket Stadium or the R Premadasa Cricket Stadium, India showed their dominance with the ball and bat. However, it was not the case during the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.

In the chase of the 137 runs in the second innings of the clash, Pakistan A made a cracking start with the bat as they completed their unbeaten 50-run stand in the fifth over of the fixture as their opener Maaz Sadaqat clubbed a fine undefeated knock of 60 runs in 40 balls with the help of five boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 150.

India needed to break the stand, and it belonged to Yash Thakur, who sent back the other opening batter of the side, Mohammad Naeem, as Naman Dhir grabbed a fine catch to end the 55-run opening stand in the sixth over of the innings.

Pakistan A won the toss and decided to bowl first on a surface that has been slow in the first innings for the Indian side. Their 14-year-old left-handed opening batter of the side, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, smashed a fine knock of 45 runs in 28 balls with the help of five boundaries and three sixes at a strike rate of 160.71.

At number three, Naman Dhir, smacked 35 runs in 20 deliveries at a strike rate of 175, shouldering on six boundaries and one six. Harsh Dubey was one of the five double-digit score makers for the Blue Brigade as they got bundled out 136.

Pakistan A’s opening batter, Maaz Sadaqat, smashed an unbeaten 79 runs in 47 balls at a strike rate of 168.09 as they completed the chase by eight wickets in 13.2 overs in the second innings.

After Vaibhav Suryavanshi, it was Naman Dhir who stood tall against the Pakistani bowling attack during the India A vs. Pakistan A Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 match on Sunday (November 16) at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.

With Vaibhav Suryavanshi as one of the openers, the India A team got a good start against the Pakistan A team. The other opener, Priyansh Arya, departed cheaply for only 10 runs. After the fall of the first wicket, Suryavanshi and Dhir steered the innings for a while. Suryavanshi scored 45 off 28, while Dhir registered 35 off 20. During this knock, the Mumbai Indians star smashed four boundaries and one six. The only over boundary of his innings came against the emerging Pakistan spinner Sufiyan.

Muqeem. It was an elegant shot from Naman over the deep midwicket area for a massive six. The over proved very costly for Muqeem and Pakistan. Later, it was the same spinner who dismissed Suryavanshi. And Saad

Masood took the wicket of Naman Dhir. The way Suryavanshi and Dhir were batting during the initial stage of the first innings, India could have easily achieved a handsome total on the scoreboard. Instead, they were able to gather only 136 runs against all 10 wickets in 19 overs. Apart from these two batters, most of the batting lineup remained silent against the Pakistan A team. Suryavanshi and Dhir together built a partnership of 49 off 32, where 35 runs came from Naman's bat.

The match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lived up to fans' expectations, delivering a thrilling contest between bat and ball. Defending a competitive total of 204, LSG's bowlers had a dream start, dismissing both MI openers within the first four overs. This early setback left MI struggling at 17/2 in match number 16 at IPL 2025.

However, Naman Dhir turned the tide with a brilliant batting display, attacking the LSG bowlers and scoring freely around the ground. Just as he looked set for a big score, he was outfoxed by a beautiful googly from Digvesh Rathee. The dismissal came immediately after the strategic timeout, as Dhir failed to read a loopy googly, leading to his downfall.

Beyond the wicket, what caught even more attention was Rathee’s celebration. It was the same gesture he had used after dismissing Punjab Kings' opener, Priyansh Arya, though this time, his celebration appeared more controlled and composed.

The 2025 Indian Premier League Mega Auction ended with a record outlay of 182 players. The IPL mega auction generated much interest, especially among star players. Several uncapped players commanded high sums for their outstanding performances in domestic cricket and T20 competitions. These hefty bids show the franchises' focus on acquiring homegrown players capable of delivering impactful performances.

With the tournament's slogan being where talent meets opportunity, it would be intriguing to see how their calibre would unfold and have a robust chance to earn their maiden international call from the prestigious national side. Here's the list of the top five expensive uncapped players in the 2025 IPL Mega Auction.

1. Rasikh Salam Dar- INR 6 Crores (Royal Challengers Bengaluru)

Rasikh Salam Dar became the most expensive uncapped player during the IPL 2025 mega auction. Rasikh is primarily a new-ball bowler who can be efficient in the first six overs and a reliable death-over bowler due to his strong yorker and slower deliveries. The quick bowler was the top selection among uncapped players and was auctioned by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for INR 6 crore.

Dar is prominent for his lethal and devastating yorkers with the Delhi Capitals in the previous season. Despite his inexperience, Rasikh will be a long-term investment, so he was acquired for a high price. Whether it's justified or not, only time will tell. In his short and promising IPL stint, he has scalped nine wickets in 11 appearances.

2. Naman Dhir- INR 5.25 Crores (Mumbai Indians)

Naman Dhir is a noteworthy pace hitter who can bat anywhere from third to sixth place, indicating a solid addition to any squad's middle-order batting. Furthermore, he is a naturally aggressive hitter with good off-spin. Naman Dhir sparked a bidding battle between the Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore before the Delhi Capitals intervened.

Later, Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings  joined in before the Mumbai Indians opted to employ the Right-to-Match (RTM) to reclaim him for INR 5.25 crores. In seven IPL matches, he has scored 140 runs with a strike rate of 177.22.

3. Abdul Samad- INR 4.20 Crores (Lucknow Super Giants)

Abdul Samad is known for his big-hitting ability and has previously played as a finisher for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Samad is a decent pace hitter who bats in the lower order and adds momentum to innings during slog overs. His subsequent years have been less promising, but his tremendous potential enticed teams to pay a hefty amount to obtain his expertise, with the Lucknow Super Giants emerging victorious.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru initially started the bid for Samad, but the Super Giants were eager to sign him and increased the bidding battle from INR 30 lakhs to INR  4.20 crores. In 50 matches, he has made 577 runs with a strike rate of 146.08.

4. Nehal Wadhera- INR 4.20 Crores (Punjab Kings)

Nehal Wadhera is a top homegrown prospect who can handle speed and spin. Wadhera's performance in past IPL seasons with Mumbai Indians highlights his impressive all-round abilities. As a player from the Punjab side, he will be familiar with the circumstances in the new Mullanpur pitch and may finally be able to unleash his full ability; thus, it is no surprise that the Punjab Kings have chosen him.

They bought they young sporting campaigner for INR 4.20 crores after competing with three teams: Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Delhi Capitals. In just 20 IPL games, he has scored 350 runs at a 140 strike rate and taken 13 wickets at an economy of 6.50.

5. Ashutosh Sharma- INR 3.80 Crores (Delhi Capitals)

Ashutosh Sharma is a clean-ball hitter who can take on pacers from the start, as seen by his time with the Punjab Kings. His presence will offer his new team, the Delhi Capitals, much-needed firepower in the lower order to deliver that finishing touch in the final overs.

Sharma was a revelation last season and was expected to command a reasonable price in the IPL 2025 auction. He was sold for INR 3.80 crores to the Delhi Capitals, who outbid three other teams for him. In his 11 IPL matches performance, he was able to make 189 runs, averaging 27 and a strike rate of 167.26.
